Fukushima Refugees Rather Gamble than Work, Claims Iwaki City Mayor
The city of Iwaki lies 30km south of the Fukushima Daiichi just outside of the evacuation zone created after the nuclear disaster struck. As such it has become home to approximately 25,000 displaced people from Futaba District, where the Daiichi reactor is located.
On 9 April, Iwaki Mayor Takao Watanabe had this to say about the evacuees: “With the compensation money they received from TEPCO, most people are choosing not to work. The pachinko parlors, however, are packed every day.” [...]
“For the refugees, medical costs are completely free which is creating a huge burden on our city’s hospitals and clinics. The number of patients currently is overwhelming and I’m worried how well we will be coping a year from now.” [...]

Yeah and your own townfolks will be sick soon enough if not already. You better start planning for contingencies. Like what are you going to do if Daiichi gets really bad!

What are the options for these people?
Are they given a choice of work, or are they ONLY asked to work at the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
And we all know what that means…
What would you do if your home and land were forcibly taken from you, your employment was taken away by force? What if you were living in a squalid shelter, and 50 years old, or older, as most of these refugees probably are?
Where are all of the jobs in japan for these older workers?

And what are they sick from? Stress diagnosis? How many are children with heart issues/attacks, birth defects, bleeding, skin rashes, bowel issues/nausea, cough, "flu", high white blood cells/lymphoma/leukemia, thyroid issues/growths, strokes, enlarged lymph nodes, weakness, bruising, immune issues and more?
How many are pregnant women with fetus malformations? With miscarriage?
How many adults are having heart attacks, strokes, bruising, brain/thyroid growths, enlarged lymph nodes, "flu", bleeding, acute leukemia, immune issues, bowel issues/nausea..and other possible radiation caused illnesses.
Just simply add the number of persons, the various symptoms, and let us know. Oh and for miscarriage, medical abortion–or stillbirths or birth defects -those are "people" as well-add them up as well.
Good luck.

Well said…best thing to do now is villianize along with the ridicule and add on some "lack of patriotism", that'll shut them up

To the Japanes people, remeber their Names and store it in your memory because this is not over.
If it turns out that they/him new MORE that they disclose in public, they ar criminals and as the radiation continues, they become murderes. Because then its not a "neglect" that can be "understud", but if they Knew, then they sould be locked away for the rest of their life.
Dont forgett who they are, I know this wil be worse, and the future looks more and more grim. Despite the fact that its more videly known, stil noting of substance is actualy happening.
And I do agree with others, we all are just in Wait and See modus. And its slowly, slowly confirming our initial vuries, that this may escalate to a fullblown ELE. The North Pasific basin is Gone, and right now we all vounder how Fu.. wil USA/Canada/Mexico/Pasific Islands a.s.o. be.
Wait and see.
Wel, I see this as the ultimate treason of Humanity and preaty mutch all the rest of living entetys in our planet.
The DNA damage is already beyound repair, and stil we drown and read downplaying and word games.
I have early on, warned about the seamingly paradocs, between the "aperant normality" and the fact that everything is radioactive, you cant see it, taste it, or hear it.
Its the ultimate killing machine.
Whats realy sceary is the silence about real news, remeber the IR images, overlapping the reac.3. Thats what I am talking about.
Its glowing down there and its alive.
Wake up, Japan
peace

Cause and effect.
Ruin livelyhoods with a radioactive catastrophe. Lie to everyone. Displace them all.
Hold out on their copensation. Tell them to send their children back to radioactive schools and eat radioactive food. Children are reprimanded and made fun of if they don't eat the radioactive food.
Work? F@#$ that! I bet their getting smashed and trying to not think about how effed they are. Just an opinion ot course.

Maybe they could put all of these nuclear radiation refugees to work measuring radiation in all of the contaminated food being raised or caught right now…
