The biological impacts of the Fukushima nuclear accident on the pale grass blue butterfly
Scientific Reports

Representative wing size and shape deformation

  • LEFT: Right hindwing was much smaller than the left hindwing of the same individual [Fukushima City; ~60 km from Fukushima Daiichi]
  • MIDDLE: Wings were folded [Takahagi, Ibaraki Prefecture; ~80 km from Fukushima Daiichi]
  • RIGHT: Wings were rumpled [Iwaki, Fukushima Prefecture; ~40 km from Fukushima Daiichi]

Perhaps for the nuclear scientists making these generation plants these are just a few butterflies. Maybe most people feel that way actually. But for me, i look at these beautiful creatures, their wings mis-shapened and pinned back by chromosomal damage from nuclear radiation, and i see the signature of mindless reason fulfilling the endless greed of a singular species.

What we see here is probably just the tip of an iceberg. Genome being altered.

Today I saw a blackbird with leucism White fethers i the neck. Is that also from radiation?
I have never seen this before

White feathers-similar to birds in Chernobyl. And that was radiation caused.

@Urban27 @ Jec – Very interesting post. Its that genetic damage passed down through generations that is why Nuclear power must end. Even plants that are operating normally continuously release radiation through the cooling towers. (Krypton 85 in large quantities among other waste)
The genetic structure of all life is slowly degrading and while natural selection slows that down, most mutations cannot be selected upon as they are too small, and simply accumulate as "genetic load". That genetic decay will eventually render all life on earth extinct without God's intervention. Its the "dirty little secret" of population genetics. We are genuinely in the bondage of decay.

Prof Chris Busby has reported on increased rates of deformity, miscarriage and death down wind of normally operating nuke plants in England and Germany. That increase in genetic decay is very serious as it brings all life closer to extinction. It is why Nuclear power must end. What price do you put on destroying the genome? Normally operating nuke plants ultimately bring all life closer to extinction. Best estimates as to how long man can survive at current genetic decay rates are 10k to 100k yrs. Normally operating nuke plants release vast quantities of radioactive gas every day. Those downwind of them get the most obvious genetic damage, but every generation is affected.
