SOURCE: Fukushima Nuclear Worker Dies, Wall Street Journal by YUKA HAYASHI, October 7, 2011
A worker hired to help bring the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant under control died suddenly Thursday [...] He was taken to a hospital immediately, and died the next morning.
“We can’t disclose what was cited as the cause on his death certificate because it would amount to violation of privacy,” a Tepco spokesman said. [...]
The worker who died this week had worked there since Aug. 8, helping to install a tank used to treat contaminated water. He spent a total of 46 days at the plant [...]
A Sept. 9 whole-body scan of the man had shown no excessive exposure, the spokesman said. Tepco is still waiting for a test result to see if the worker had experienced more internal exposure since.

Its not right I’m sure that the family will do the right thing and let the world know if it was indeed radiation that killed him, atleast I hope they would. What a messed up place it must be! Eventually the truth has to come out.

More likely his family will be paid $10,000 to shut up , and cremate the body.
That’s how things work in Japan.
Everybody is afraid of the yakuza.

Why would tepco, instead of Coroner or other official government appointee be communicating cause of death? Does tepco perform autopsies now?
Report Comment
Coroner’s may not want to dissect an irradiated corpse ! Maybe they just run a counter over them ?
Report Comment
Why is a power company responsible for communicating cause of death?

Obviously it was high levels of radiation, otherwise TEPCO wouldn’t try to hide the results …..

They are the heroes. They know that the radiation will kill them. They do their job. Great bow!
/They know it’s useless, fighting against a humongous enemy, nevertheless, they do. I do lit candles and incent for them…how little we are…

TEPCO has no right to declare the cause of death as classified. The public has the right to know how this worker died. It is clearly a violation of the individuals rights for a company to declare the reason he died because a company does not have the equipment to perform an autopsy anyways unless they hired a private contractor to defile corpses or something. Grampybone tells me the spirits are fucking pissed off about this.

In the world today, Corporations are people too…
And all a corporation has to do is buy up a coroners entity and they can write their own death certificates…
