I wonder if Reactor 5 or 6 of possibly both have had partial meltdowns. Do we know for sure what the condition of these reactors are in and whether any damage was sustained. Does anyone have info? Thanks in advance

moonshellblue,
The storm of black "dust" in the video Wotcha posted may be from the direction of R5 & R6.

More 'black smoke' vids from 454541919, just what I saw yesterday. My thanks go to him/her for great captures.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corium_(nuclear_reactor)
Corium (and also highly irradiated uranium fuel) has an interesting property: spontaneous dust generation, or spontaneous self-sputtering of the surface. The alpha decay of isotopes inside the glassy structure causes Coulomb explosions, degrading the material and releasing submicron particles from its surface.[42]

NoNukes…If my memeory serves, these black smoke videos of Daiichi occured at times surrounding (befores & afters) of the black goo being found in Minamisoma. In this vid, the wind seems to be going away from Minamisoma, but there could be other times we didn't see.
I'm just saying I think there might be a relationship. I think Nuck had some vids of the black smoke heading up coast, northward.

Yes, there are some of the black dust going in the opposite direction, and then others of it going back behind the reactors, too.

Wow! That's bad, really really bad.

In light of Tepco's record of trustworthiness I do not hesitate to suggest that those readings are not showing the actual situation.
If levels were really this low already, then why not allow Greenpeace to check the numbers by doing some sampling of their own.

So could this suggest all along daiini has been far more serious than daiichi? All the attention is on daiichi,,
More coriums to have left the building?
Is this why tepco have up a long time ago? A country that consists of some of the most educated people in the world and still no cure for Fuku?
I'm sorry Japan, you have lost the privilege to a peaceful an pain-free life on the island on honshu(Japan)
Generation after generation will suffer, whether deformations or the need to eat imported food, your crops are heavily radiated, and don't anyone say plutonium, that stuff is just so lethal.

No what it suggests is a cr*pload of radioactivity was released and is distributed in a non-linear fashion. I can't speak for Daini but Daichi could easily have caused these readings. Just wait til SFP4 gets it's revenge this'll all seem like nothing.

Nuclear scientists (around the world) and their employers got warnings from the Silkwood and China Syndrome movies. But some how "didn't get the memo".

Wonder what the map would look like if it showed all the Nuke plants?

Kevin, you can see most of them from this site. Click on the individual areas near the top of the screen to see different maps than the (US) default.

Britain looks particularly thick with them.
The map makes the "1000 year event" model look more absurd than ever.

Daini is the most logical place for the extra meltdown(s) necessary to explain the amounts of noble gases:
"The entire noble gas inventory of reactor units 1–3 was set free into the atmosphere between 11 and 15 March 2011."
http://fukushimaupdate.com/new-study-on-xenon-133-and-caesium-137-releases-from-fukushima/
"Reactor 2 CV Gas Analysis on November 2: Slight Increase in Xe-131m, Xe-135, 100-Fold Increase in Krypton-85 from November 1"
http://ex-skf.blogspot.com/2011/11/reactor-2-cv-gas-analysis-on-november-2.html
It's still emitting krypton, lots of krypton, but the whole inventory of it was supposedly released by March 15, 2011. Either there was a lot more fuel in the reactors than they are telling us, or there is at least one more meltdown that they haven't told us about.

That`s a chilling thought.
This line of thinking for me potentially explains the BIZARRE ignoring of questions of Japanese Govt Officials and TEPCO personnel videos we`ve seen here recently.
If the danger was greater than actually revealed to us then the people in the know might convey an *If you only knew what you are talking about* flavor to their interactions and behavior – like on the video.
But is this was the case, why would they even think to restart anything nuclear in Japan at this stage? How many meltdowns do they want to risk?
Report Comment
Yes, why apology from Tepco Prezedent apologized was for Fukushima Daini and and Daiichi!
It turns out, that possibly TWELVE nuclear plants are now in meltdown, according to TEPCO President statement.
