Evacuation advice for N.E. Omaha, Omaha World Herald, July 1, 2011:
As early as Saturday, about 2,700 northeast Omaha residents could start getting advice in the mail about what to do in case of a “catastrophic levy breach,” said Dan Stolinski, assistant fire chief of the Omaha Fire Department.

I’m sure they are in fact insured, it would be like any other company insures their HQ building(s). They no doubt have a very comprehensive DR plan too. Not fun to implement, but this is what it is for.

Dominique, they insinuate that the Kansas State U.
small experimental reactor was shutdown as high Cesium
readings were detected. ..because (?) of the Ft. Calhoun
flooding.
They do not draw any further evidentiary links,
causality, only a mention that some hot item was
detected by four separate sensors, causing shutdown.

So, if you’re not familiar with Omaha, NE Omaha is the very poor section. The article also mentions “as well as addresses south of Ames and east of 16th Street” ~ sounds pretty nonchalant but they are talking about downtown Omaha where old warehouse buildings now house hundreds and hundreds of folks (like me!).

Omaha already issued their evac plan week before last, so who really is behind this new plan, delivered through the fire department suit?
If Port Calhoun reactor starts to floods more, affecting electrical and cooling, it sounds to me like there’s going to be a last-minute levee break, ‘accidently on purpose’.
Let’s all take down names and keep notes.

July 1, 2011 – TULSA – Sources tell 2News that Grand Lake will likely be closed this Fourth of July weekend, due to an explosion of blue-green algae (BGA), and now, the Grand River Dam Authority is advising the public to stay out of Grand Lake waters. “We strongly discourage any body contact with the water at this point,” said Justin Alberty, GRDA corporate communications director. “That means no swimming or any other activities that would bring you into contact with lake water.”

I am here in Missouri where actually some reporters can spell “levee” versus the other “levy” (like levy taxes?).
Offthread… Sorry on an iPhone…have read there has been western wind currents flowing from Los Alamos into SE Arizona… A pressurized front has pushed the toxic fumes in that direction… Stay inside as much as possible until the fires are contained and smoke dispersed.

The govt will blow the levies up stream to take pressure off the nuke power plants. This warning is to prepare people. Of course, they won’t be admitting they’ve done it. That would be to admit their Nuke plants are unsafe… which of course they are!

Well, we have three reactors in meltdown within thirty miles of some Japanese towns. How many people immediately died? Did people’s deaths get blamed on the tsunami? What about inland cities?
