Title: 10:35 a.m. Update from Assumption Parish Officials
Source: Assumption Parish Police Jury

Emphasis Added

The Vertical Seismic Profile Data that has been provided to us by Texas Brine shows that Oxy Geismar Cavern #1 is closer to the outer wall of the Napoleonville Salt Dome than recently anticipated. Although Oxy Geismar Cavern #1 was previously thought to have no issues, this recent development does cause concern for Assumption Parish Officials. Oxy Geismar Cavern #1 is located 900’ to the northeast of Oxy Geismar Cavern #3 (which is the failed cavern) and is estimated to be 950’ from Highway 70 to the outer wall of the Napoleonville Salt Dome .

Although the upcoming 3D Seismic Survey may provide more information on the western flank of the Napoleonville Salt Dome, we have asked Texas Brine and DNR officials to provide information at an upcoming community meeting to be held at the Assumption Parish Community Center on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. [...]

Ding ding, now we know a bit more of what the Governor has known, and surely why he has not gone near the place…

Oh I bet these science types with there big degrees and big paychecks are sooooo mad at us nobodies!! Enenews is real news for real people with a seasoned group of critical thinkers asking good questions and helping each other grasp and understand issues that are urgently important…by doing this, we shine the light and force industry to answer us. I think this is one of the very best "think tanks" ever amassed. Thank you enenews :)

The entire salt cavern complex in Bayou Corne is doomed to fail. All of the caverns will give way to the dominoe effect chain reaction now that a fresh water supply has been introduced via the sinkhole and oxy3 collapse, after discovering that they carved caverns too close to the edge of the dome. Daily mini quakes and underground movement as shown on the helicorders since being installed, show the instability there. I am going to say it again. they need to get the professionals in there(ARMY CORPS of ENGINEERS and or NAVY SEABEES or a combination of both), with the assistance of Texas Brine and the other operators there. All remaining caverns need to be emptied and refilled with something non toxic like a gravel based cement an closed for good. I'm sure the military engineers will come up with the right formula if they are sent to help. Governor Jindal may be able to redeem himself if he can convince the president to move in federal assistance as I mentioned above. Hopefully the containment berms get reinforced and or rebuilt if needed and keep the sinkhole from contaminating the bayous as much as possible. Without federal intervention the entire salt cavern complex will become a giant toxic lake. I noticed heavy pumping equipment in the sinkhole where they are keeping the water level down (about time!). Where are they disposing of the water pumped out of the sinkhole? Hopefully not in a different area of the swamp.

But the volume! I dont grasp it; if the salt is being washed away, it must go somewhere…the ocean? The volume of these salt domes is beyond human intervention. This is the midas touch; men wanted everything they touched to turn to gold, instead it was the kiss of death.

Yes Man has used these salt domes to store everything they could think of and now? Look at the mess it's not nice to fool mother nature and I tend to think this is all connected to the BP oil fiasco which leaks to this day and I don't know about federal intervention with all the cuts but they must try to empty these domes of course we're talking huge amounts and then there's Hanford. Wow I certainly would not want to be president. Jambalaya

          Moonshellblue,

I really appreciate it how you qualify your opinion as such with language to that effect. I am suspicious that the events may be connected as well. Keep sharing any evidence as it comes up, or just your opinions. In my opinion, prove it isn't connected. Prove it or we can assume that it may be.

It is a waste of time and effort discussing anything with you.
Your idea of scientific proof is a clip from a investment advisory group. When your'proofs' are refuted you go into denial- change the subject or go off line to hide.
I have given you proofs- documentation available to all and understandable to most people even only basic knowledge in sciences. Often it is in the same links you post as proof– you either did not read far enough or were not knowledgeable enough to understand. And you give no document proof in reply just denie. Even when the question is about a claim you made–still waiting for scientific documentation of the 100,000 psi- what was it methane hydrate–
