Japan less likely to trust officials, main media, since disaster
By JOHN M. GLIONNA
Los Angeles Times
TOKYO — Hajime Shiraishi’s moment of truth came when her online video news show, at the time relatively unknown, decided to buck the government line and call a story as it saw it.
On March 11, after an earthquake-driven tsunami damaged the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, the world waited anxiously to see how its fragile reactors would fare.
Later that day, plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co., or Tepco, announced on national TV that all was well: The utility was on top of the accident. No radiation had been released into the atmosphere. Return to regular programming.

Fukushima probe to avoid assessing quake damage
Kyodo
A government panel investigating the triple-meltdown crisis at the Fukushima No. 1 power plant will not provide in its interim report any in-depth analysis on how badly the March 11 earthquake damaged key facilities before the tsunami arrived, sources said Monday.
The decision leaves open the possibility that facilities key to securing the plant’s safety were seriously damaged by the 9-magnitude temblor….

EPA worried about your blog, or they would not have TWO people (a tech and a communications facilitator..!!) Pretty unusual I think. But also..they are able to document what was said with two witnesses..gets away from he said, she said. You may want to record (legally of course) and be sure to ask if they are RECORDING the conversation as well. Interesting, and you must be pushing a few buttons there.

OMG!!! MAJIA! WOWZER!

“communications facilitator” – there’s a chilling job title.

The nuclear mafia apparently now has their political police on the EPA staff.

UNBELIEVABLE BLATANT CENSORING!! at least the guys you talked to might have something to think about if they have family or friends in phoenix!! at least they can give them the heads up! especially if theyve got kids.. milks off the table kiddies!! until normall truthful operations resume!!
should i report my findings or just quietly record?? makes you think maja, it really does :/
now im off to buy the video above!!

Hi majia
Administrator ended the call, do you think it’s because the tech told you how to run searches on NOAA from Fukushima’s coordinate?
Report Comment
WindSolarPlease
either that, or they ended the call because I started describing my concern about the lack of transparency at the EPA….
I should have kept my mouth shut.
It was a strange call.

next time put them on hold and go shopping

Here’s my take on your call.
The tech is the person that understands the radiation, and operates the equipment – the “conversation coordinator” is exactly what everyone here knows they are…
The EPA has to respond to you because you are a citizen, but they really want to know what you are up to and what you are doing with the information.
The purpose of the call was to get information not give it. They probably are evaluating you for radicalism right now.
There may have also been a bit of intimidation going on.
A couple questions.
Did you ask them what was the method they determined that the radiation came from a Radon spike vs. Fukushima?
Did you ask them whether they understand it is their obligation, under US federal law, to tell the truth about what they know about Fukushima – Next time you speak with them, make sure you know their name, title and job function and then lay this on them. Conversation will end quickly, but you’ll get their attention. .

No I did not ask those questions. They are good ones.
I should also have asked them to provide me the “raw” data.
I didn’t think fast enough…

I predicted that the entire country of Japan will be uninhabitable due to this nuclear disaster.
The truth is slowly sinking in to the collective consciousness. Much like the coriums into the Earth.
I commend the courage of all truth sayers.
Lose all fear. Life is but a dream. There is no such thing as death. We simply return to the source.

I disagree.
not with the part about the seriousness of the disaster, but the part about sinking in.
I believe the governments have been successful in hiding it.
Hiding it from most of the people of Japan, until it was too late for them to act.
Hiding it from almost everyone that could pressure the elimination of nuclear power.
And even hiding it from themselves, so they could commit such a heinous crime on humanity.
Actions are human things. You must confront the people who are doing the crimes – one by one – with the seriousness of their crime, and ask them not to do it. But if that still does not work, then the people must rise up..

They are doomed.
Soon the whole area will be cordoned off, the people sterilized and not allowed to move out till they die.
The Japanese already did that to the lepers of Japan and Korea during the 1920s-1940s (and Korea continued the custom till the 1970s).
Report Comment
Oh wow, nuclear lepers…
That already happened with Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Now it will happen with FUKU
Those that were identified as victims of this were basically shunned and pushed out of society. No one would hire them. No one would be their friends. No one helped them. If they were lucky family or relatives took care of them.
Add to this the high bar that it took to qualify for benefits from either the US government or later on the Japanese government, which meant most victims never ‘qualified’. This also happened to US radiation victims, including veterans.
It also meant that many of them had to suffer much like lepers; ignored, despised, discriminated against and left without anything at all.
Please correct me if I am wrong in this assessment…

The untouchablity feature in the caste system is one of the cruelest features of the caste system. It is seen by many as one of the strongest racist phenomenon in the world.
In the Indian society people who worked in ignominious, polluting and unclean occupations were seen as polluting peoples and were therefore considered as untouchables. The untouchables had almost no rights in the society. In different parts of India they were treated in different ways. In some regions the attitude towards the untouchables was harsh and strict. In other regions it was less strict.
In regions where the attitude was less strict the untouchables were seen as polluting people and their dwellings were at a distance from the settlements of the four Varna communities. The untouchables were not allowed to touch people from the four Varnas. They were not allowed to enter houses of the higher Varnas. They were not allowed to enter the temples. They were not allowed to use the same wells used by the Varnas. In public occasions they were compelled to sit at a distance from the four Varnas. In regions where the attitude towards the untouchables were more severe, not only touching them was seen polluting, but also even a contact with their shadow was seen as polluting.
