Water may be leaking from No. 4 reactor fuel pool, NHK, APril 27, 2011:

TEPCO reports a “new problem” at the No. 4 reactor

The operator of the troubled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant says water may be leaking from the spent fuel pool of the No. 4 reactor.

More than 1,500 spent fuel rods are stored in the pool, the largest number at the site. [...]

TEPCO has poured in 140 to 210 tons of water over each of the last few days. The company found that water levels in the pool were 10 to 40 centimeters lower than expected despite the water injections.

The walls of the reactor building supporting the pool were severely damaged by a hydrogen explosion last month. TEPCO says the pool may have been damaged by the blast as well. [...]

Why is Nevada storing this material? How is it being shipped?

“A bunch of unirradiated reactor fuel — a mix of highly enriched uranium and thorium — has been stored at the Y-12 nuclear weapons plant in Oak Ridge for nearly three decades. It’s now being prepared for disposal at the Nevada National Security Site (what used to be known as the Nevada Test Site).”

    I-131 is very sticky
Lifestyle Changes in a post 311 world

The number 4 spent fuel pool is producing large amounts of I-131.

Radioactive fallout and rain contain I-131. I-131 clings to skin and surfaces. It will not be simply washed or wiped off. Special binding agents are needed to combine with it, so it will loosen its grip on your skin or the insides of your sink. Then you can rise or wipe it away with a paper towel.

A very good product called Bind-It works to release I-131 from skin and surfaces so it can be washed and wiped away. You can us it to pre-treat surfaces also, cleaning will be much easier. Use your detectors to scan before and after cleansing using Bind-It. What a difference it’s application can make in counts per minute.

Mrs. Moses keeps the Bind-It hand soap dispenser handy for hand cleansing after working outside. Levels are above normal background radiation, due to the cumulative effects of regular radioactive rain fall on the garden hose, the car, driveway, our lawn and our gate.

It is different living in a permanently radioactive environment. But, adjustment by lifestyle changes are needed for health and survival. Use Bind-it to wash the kids hands and the dogs paws after playing outside.

    Other helpful tips.

Wash you hands with Bind-It before handling food.

After working outdoors, use Bind-It before handling baby. The laws and rules of Nuclear Hygiene now apply.

Remember the point is avoiding ingesting the radioactive particles, or passing particles to infants. If you have a small child, I would advise purchasing Bind-It. It also makes a great gift to young parents with babies.

Thanks for the Bind-It tip, as well~
I’ve noticed some new levels of

Good Luck, everyone! I found that

Just one problem. Bind-It will do absolutely nothing to prevent thyroid cancer which is by far the number one concern from long distance fallout of Iodine-131.

There is a very informative video by Dr. Brownstein called ‘Iodine, The Most Misunderstood Nutrient’ here:
      http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2956337981044006757#

Google will be removing this video on April 29th. Watch it while you still can. Don’t become another statistic in the coming thyroid cancer epidemic.

No propriety formula being pushed. Just a very informative lecture about iodine from a doctor who has devoted most of his career to the study and medicinal uses of it.

      Con-troll-ing Radiation in the Home
I have NO affiliation to Bind-It,

Nor its creators. It is a unique product. One of the few that can clean I-131 from skin.

As contamination increases from increased levels of fallout we need every edge we can get. We have yet to see where this will lead, especially for young children.

I can read the rising levels of radiation around my yard, on my car, on my hands after working in the yard. I would be irresponsible to bring that radiation inside of the house.

I have reasonably protected my family with supplementation, RO/DI water, selection of pre-311 foods, decontamination protocols for the produce, administration of oral chelators which pull most radioactive elements from the body. I have my family undergo complete monitoring, which includes recently completed hair analysis using spectrographic analysis.

By the way, regardless of what they say uranium is now showing up in hair samples.

I cannot carry my grandchildren around knowing my hands are radioactive above background levels. I can’t. I discovered Bind-It which is commonly used in clinical settings, in nuclear medicine. When you clean with it, it moves the level way down.

It is a very specialized product.

My post only covered a narrow topic of cleansing of skin and surfaces contaminated with I-131.

I am aware of and familiar with the use of Potassium Iodine dietary ingestion to protect the thyroid. My entire family is following the iodine protocol using Nascent Iodine, as well as supplements lie chorella purchased pre-311. We have supplies of Potassium Iodine, Lugols and Iosat at 130mg for up close events.

I am trying to con-TROLL radiation that might end up ingested from contaminated hands, etc.

I am not the only one who has detected rising levels of radiation around him.

      Here is a quote from

      The Intel Hub
By Dr. Mark Sircus – Contributing Writer
      April 25th, 2011

      Radiation a Personal Account

“I am a retired biologist who used to work in radiation biology. Just wanted to share with you what we’ve been doing lately. We live in the mid-Atlantic area of the U.S. We have a Geiger counter and have been testing daily for radiation (am and pm) since the Fukushima incident. Since March 11, our numbers normally are 25-30 cpm inside and 31-35 cpm outside (Geiger counter sits at an open window). This is within background radiation numbers. When it rains, the numbers rise to about 35 cpm for inside and 40 cpm for outside. Our grass reads around 50 cpm. I noticed today after I did some weeding (sunny day) and washing my hands that they read around 50 cpm. I had to wash them 3-4 times before the reading went down.

Also noticed a couple of dandelions looking abnormal (their stems were twice as thick as others and heads were joined). Never saw that before.

We had ordered kelp granules from the company Maine Coast three weeks ago. We typically use kelp in our foods, and this was a bigger order than usual because of the nuclear incident. Just got the shipment today! We tested the bags of kelp for radiation and they tested 182 cpm! We called the company but they had their answering machine on, stating that they won’t be open until April 25th because they’re doing inventory. We plan to return the kelp! Noticed the expiration date is April 16, 2013, which makes us wonder if they filled the order after the Fukushima incident (maybe April 16, 2011?).
      Patty”

The great outdoors register higher levels and rising. If you knowingly had flu virus on your hand, would you not cleanse it off before you touched your child? How about before you care of an infant.

Normal washing multiple times only reduces very slowly the I-131 clinging to the skin. Washing reduces the amount of contamination because you are exfoliating the skin, the proteins (skin cells) the Iodine is clinging to is being sloughed off. Use a brush and the exfoliation will occur faster. But soon you will rub your hands raw. And be open to infection and inflammation.

“I noticed today after I did some weeding (sunny day) and washing my hands that they read around 50 cpm. I had to wash them 3-4 times before the reading went down.”

I know it is hard to believe that the establishment produced something that is good and works to protect us, but it’s true.
And proven to work in clinical and home settings. Don’t throw the baby out with the radioactive bathwater.

  • “According to a schedule announced earlier on containing the ongoing emergency, TEPCO plans to install concrete pillars to support the fuel pool by around July to increase its earthquake resistance.”

No pressure, guys. Put those pillars in when you get a few moments between press conferences.

    LOL

“More than” means 285 tons. These stupidos keep on prog rammin folks.

Reactor uranium weight at Fukushima is 131 tons. Multiply that by forty yrs, six reactors = 31.000 tons. But of course its less than that, (they do not swap all the stuff once a year) … but do add all other “More than 20″ 60-120ft tsunami diving reactors:

surely the total has to be less than 500.000 tons “ready for delivery.” Half of it Plutonium mox? Stuff that two pounds would kill whole pop if distributed.
