Glenn Greenwald, Feb 24, 2014 at 6:25p ET: How Covert Agents Infiltrate the Internet to Manipulate, Deceive, and Destroy Reputations– From the Snowden archive

  • Western intelligence agencies are attempting to manipulate and control online discourse with extreme tactics of deception and reputation-destruction
  • [The 'Joint Threat Research Intelligence Group' a previously secret unit of the UK's 'Government Communications Headquarters'] document [...] entitled “The Art of Deception: Training for Online Covert Operations
  • Agencies are attempting to control, infiltrate, manipulate, and warp online discourse, and in doing so, are compromising the integrity of the internet itself
  • Among the core self-identified purposes of JTRIG are two tactics: (1) to inject all sorts of false material onto the internet in order to destroy the reputation of its targets; and (2) to use social sciences and other techniques to manipulate online discourse and activism to generate outcomes it considers desirable
  • Tactics they boast of using to achieve those ends: “false flag operations” (posting material to the internet and falsely attributing it to someone else), fake victim blog posts (pretending to be a victim of the individual whose reputation they want to destroy), and posting “negative information” on various forums
  • GCHQ describes the purpose of JTRIG [as] “using online techniques to make something happen in the real or cyber world,” including “information ops (influence or disruption)”
  • These surveillance agencies have vested themselves with the power to deliberately ruin people’s reputations and disrupt their online political activity
  • Harvard Law Professor Cass Sunstein, a close Obama adviser and the White House’s former head of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, wrote a controversial paper in 2008 proposing that the US government employ teams of covert agents and pseudo-”independent” advocates to “cognitively infiltrate” online groups and websites, as well as other activist groups
  • These GCHQ documents are the first to prove that a major western government is using some of the most controversial techniques to disseminate deception online and harm the reputations of targets
  • The state is deliberately spreading lies on the internet about whichever individuals it targets, including the use of what GCHQ itself calls “false flag operations” and emails to people’s families and friends
  • Claims that government agencies are infiltrating online communities and engaging in “false flag operations” to discredit targets are often dismissed as conspiracy theories, but these documents leave no doubt they are doing precisely that

      • A WAY better disclosure on all this came out over a year ago:
        http://cryptome.org/2012/07/gent-forum-spies.htm
=> somehow the cryptome file got corrupted recently so the juiciest parts are cut off (eg: how to easily recognize the disinformation sellouts that likely exist in your own social/professional circle), so here is an alternate link with the Full Monty:
        http://pastebin.com/irj4Fyd5

Snowden is what is called a "limited hangout operation", where some dude(s) will tell you stuff you already knew, stuff which is way better explained elsewhere, and where none of it ultimately appears quite as bad as what is actually going on (ex: imagine someone revealing that Obama beats his dogs, when the real problem is all the people he is regularly having 'legally' assassinated, etc.)

In any case, I strongly encourage you all to carefully read (and re-read) that document, because it then makes it SO EASY to recognize these manipulators and to render their techniques useless (they don't work once you know them). Not only online forum techniques are covered: also covered are the techniques and patterns of the agents you will find in groups like OccupyWallStreet (and also in 'green' non-profits), as well as the techniques these sellouts use to disinform in society in general.

        POWERFUL STUFF!!! :)

FYI…cryptome had warning for everyone last week that the NSA is logging IP addresses that visit the site, because on there site were Classified documents posted and waiting for someone to download them and then be prosecuted.

They listed the IP address that were were being collected by documents accessed. They couldn't stop the logging, but they were not going to let people go there not knowing this trap had been set. I went there for the Fukushima pics and saw the message.

          • I'm not sure if your info is supposed to scare people away from that document, but in general what you are describing does not make much sense.

First of all, the NSA has packet duplicators in ALL internet service providers' server rooms, so ALL online activity is tracked and logged. They know when you visit enenews, just like they know what kind of porn you like to look at. (Things like your network card's fixed MAC address + your past logins are used to identify you)

So there is no need for them to do anything on cryptome's servers to know most of who is visiting their pages when, and generally ALL web servers log your IP address when you interact with them. From an administrative perspective, it is important to know the IP addresses to be able to deal with certain types of malicious activity, but no one other than the NSA has the storage space to keep that volume of data for more than a few days.

In any case, what can the NSA do about millions of people seeking out legitimate, useful information? They can try to scare people away, but that doesn't really work: if the only alternative to fear is to be ignorant, abused, irradiated, manipulated sheeple, then I prefer the risk.

The main thing though is that the cryptome document is one of those very rare USEFUL pieces of information, whereas 99.999% of the info we get is NOT ACTIONABLE, and therefore largely useless. In Dungeons&Dragons terms, it is like finding that rare "manual of protection against…

Agreed Christophe, Snowden is a limited hangout (because the crappy powerpoint slides we all could have guessed). It is also a limited hangout within a limited hangout (because somehow they're appearing redacted and only trickling out at a rate less than 1% per year).

My guess both the intelligence community and the elites have made their respective cuts, but I can't say for sure.

Your resource is a great resource, but it's not the whole story. Most of the trolling these days is being done by non-state actors, whether commercial or political.

Perhaps the focus has been moved out of the public realm because of the freedom of information act. But if that's true, it is most certainly now a blend of private interests at any rate.

And, it also explains the trolls with IQ over 140: they're professionals with day jobs, recruited for the task, not for money, but for a future quid pro quo. I have personally known a couple.

Obviously, government authority for such deception operations will (and should) exist to counter a perceived operation by a foreign power to influence domestic politics, etc.

Setting aside the ease with which purely domestic groups can be tarred with the brush of improper foreign influence for a moment. . .

The real question is whether such deception operations have authority to exist against completely domestic groups.

I would turn to Executive Order 13470, establishing the Director of National Intelligence, granting it authority to task the other intelligence agencies in Section 1.3(b)(11) in any areas that involve "threats to the United States, its people, property, or interests; the development, proliferation, or use of weapons of mass destruction; or any other matter bearing on United States national or homeland security" in Section 3.5(i) new definition for "National Intelligence and Intelligence Related to National Security."

"Any other matter bearing on United States national or homeland security" is pretty broad and vague. . .

I mean, does that definition include trans-national globalists? :)

Arguably that definition allows the DNI to task a component three letter agency with something beyond that three letter agency's congressional and executive mandate, leaving it to the agency head to call bullshit or go along with the flow, knowing that accountability rests with DNI. . .

              • No worries, although in line with one of the threads below, it is important to be careful with validating information before we repeat it.

How can cryptome possibly know that the NSA is logging visits to their pages (unless people have been charged, which in any case would likely be done under unconstitutional gag order)? Cryptome may have at least one very useful document to offer, but that doesn't mean that there aren't other uploaders there doing their best to distract and manipulate otherwise.

But one key thing to keep in mind, IMO, is the following: DO NOT HACK, do not do even remotely illegal stuff if you are a dissident. That is how they can and will easily put you away for decades if they want.

What we need isn't more hackers, or more proof of satanic malfeasance from our elites, corporations and government. What we need is positive solutions and effective work-arounds, and in fact it is very difficult for them to destroy anything we create in cyberspace, since good things automatically get mirrored…

nice to see someone, Christophe, who totally gets it. Someone was going on how they refuse to give their phone numbers, when registering with other online venues. While I can respect such caution, such preventative efforts are, at best, illusory. Unless your running Tempest approved 'boxes' and operating within a 'proprietary' network, from the moment you power up, you run the 'risk' of being 'identified'. As few are taking such defensive measures, there is no chance to remain anonymous. That said, unless one is looking forward to a late night visit from the 'jackboots', every word should be well measured and weighed against the consequences of freely releasing them within this communication's medium…

P.S. Thanks for being out here…

                  Report comment

                  • Well said about making sure every word is well measured – that document actually gives details on how these agents will purposefully entrap people online, for example by first posting a video of cops beating people and then encouraging comments that prone violent acts against the police (or politicians, jews, etc.) – all things that are justifiably illegal, and just your IP address can be enough to land you in jail if they want. So for sure people need to be careful when they comment online: always assume that you are not anonymous and always make sure that what you say cannot be used against you in a court of law…

That being said, while I have heard of people getting into huge trouble for copying data (eg: Aaron Swartz), and even just for putting links on their blog to data accidentally made publicly available on govt servers, I have never heard of people being charged just for visiting a document like the one above. Although you can be charged for downloading copyrighted material, evidently, who is going to publicly claim ownership of that document and contest its public availability?

It is always important to make sure that your approach to dissidence is above all reproach. Do things that are so positive and useful that if/when TPTB ultimately try to take you down, they will do nothing but publicize what you have been doing, and thus speed up its adoption. That kind of strategic thinking should always be kept in mind! :)

While I'm on a roll, I'll share my personal solution to the immense difficulty we are all having with waking people up, or how society generally doesn't want to know the truth about Fukushima, 9/11, etc.

The key thing to notice is that when we share info on those topics, we do nothing but create huge personal problems for people: not only is there no identifiable solution to these seemingly intractable, orchestrated political problems, but becoming aware of them causes all sorts of complications for an individual's personal and professional life.
=> result: no one wants to know, because the personal disadvantages seemingly vastly outweigh the nebulous advantages of knowing 'the truth'.

One way to work around this is to focus instead on sharing info on topics we actually do have awesome solutions for, as indeed the corporate solutions for most medical and personal problems are SO BAD that it isn't that hard to improve on them dramatically.

This way, we can get people started on the road to truth, and in general once people become healthier and more independent, once they begin to see how much they benefit from looking outside the mainstream, then they will be much more interested in tackling Fukushima and the rest!

To make a long story short, my YT channel has, IMO, rare info on how to be easily slim, how to break free from addiction, etc.: http://www.youtube.com/betterinfos

Trade agreements seek to protect intellectual property rights while limiting or eliminating the power of domestic courts to award damages. Any blogger who suggests that multinational corporations should be liable in tort for injuries for damages sustained is attacked by paid trolls. The nuclear and chemical companies do this with trolls and shills who "hate lawyers" or claim that your right to a jury trial is unimportant; that only the Second Amendment protects against the government and corporate greed. These attitudes, values and beliefs disempower consumers. Furthermore, they assist the multinational corporations in depriving consumers of compensation.

I am thick-skinned. But if these attitudes, values and beliefs are adopted, consumers must absorb the losses caused by corporate activities without these corporations having to pay anything!

We also have destruction of the commons. According to Professor Francis Boyle, dumping vast amounts of radioactive materials into the ocean and atmosphere could be and is a crime under international law.

I post this information more as an environmentalist than as a tort lawyer. Those who believe that they should abandon the jury system and privacy rights in favor of violent fantasies of achieving social justice at the end of the barrel of a gun while abandoning peaceful means discredit many movements and are used as a pretext for repressive measures. That further limits free speech and association.

I absolutely agree that all rights under the constitution.are important and should be respected. We do have a political process to change laws that should be respected. So far, gun owners rights.have been upheld by the SCOTUS.

But we also must protect ourselves against corporate and government abuses by civil actions in court..These actions compensate the victims and are a cost of doing business. We all would like to see Tepco pay the first responders aboard the USS Reagan,as well as the children of Fukushima.

There is a corporate takeover of America because of Citizens United. The next case may create a "one dollar, one vote system" in the US where there will be no limits on corporate or individual campaign contributions. Democracy means one man? One vote….

As you may be aware, peaceful demonstrations and assemblies are intentionally infiltrated by violent agent provocateurs and repressive crackdowns result. I could provide you with many thousands of examples and government documents.

The issue here is to avoid being labeled as violent environmental activists which discredits.the anti-nuclear movement as a whole. Many share the believe that our system is corrupted by money, and the system controls by violence and repression. This believe finds much support in recent times as the rights of citizens under the constitution are ignored.

The big problem these disinformation spooks are facing is a lack of credibility in the forums they seek to subtravert. They might do quite well with the gentle sheeple masses on Forbes, Huff Post, and Bloomberg, but their forays into forums with numerous IQs above 140 are usually above their pay grade (and their own IQ level).

Certainly some are so slick that you would never notice they are plants, but when they have to blend in so well their impact is limited.

Far more common are the flamer varieties we seem to attract like a moth to a blowtorch. Some Enenewsers handle those quite handily and dispose of them like a worn out stinky tennis shoe. Others spend a wee bit too much time playing their game. But the truth can't be denied when there is so much evidence. And Fukushima is leaving such a messy corpse fouling the planet it is difficult to put blinders on all the gentle citizens.

To the Japan island inhabitants who are especially beset by toxins.. Yes you are constrained from getting news reports under new censorship laws. But the truth is hard to suppress in the Information Age. The Fallout Era is upon you and everyone on this planet. Do your best to save your family and friends.

I hope I can word it well enough to be non-inflammatory.
Sometimes I wonder about the motivations behind posts that express what I call a "doomist" attitude.

I know it's hard not to get "down", or despair at times.
I know the expression of that can sometimes help dispel it.
I know this site is the only place some folks have to express openly their feelings on the issues we deal with.

That said, I can't help but question the reason for consistently posting messages that boil down to "We're all doomed", "It's all over but the dying", etc.
I know that many of you know the type of post I refer to.

It's one thing to express an opinion that an ELE has occurred, whether short or long-term.
But, if one holds that belief, what is the point of repeatedly expressing it here?
Is it that "misery loves company" and some want to see others express the same?
Is it seeking validation for that viewpoint?

I suggest we need to consider that spreading despair, hopelessness & an attitude of defeatism can also be a deliberate method of weakening opposition.
An "agent" need not always be overtly or covertly pro-nuke, or pro-hormesis, or pro-anything, but simply disruptive, or, in the case of "doomerism", spreading a psycho-emotional virus.

I know things are bad. (insert "Network" rant)
If one believes all effort is pointless, go & live, don't post & potentially injure efforts that may prove you wrong.

I think it's obvious (but maybe not) that I don't share the viewpoint of hopelessness. If I did, I wouldn't be here posting.

However, I don't see how anyone who, in all honest sincerity does think we are all doomed is going to get involved in any action.

If someone's personal truth is that we're finished, then so be it.
They are entitled to express that.
I still question the purpose of expressing it repeatedly.
I think we have to acknowledge that some folks can't face the truth, deal with it emotionally and come out stronger.
I also think we have to face the truth that demoralizing one's opponent is a viable tactic. We need to be aware of that.

      I beg to differ.

Bad news is bad news, and if people can alleviate some of their suffering by posting here, so be it. Enenews will eventually have additional separate forums for people that need help dealing with what is occurring. Daresay there might even be forums for spiritual/religious help. Clearly there are no other sites of a spiritual/religious nature that are dealing with this. Why the silence of the world's spiritual and religious leaders?

Our job is not to silence bad news, and the comments that go with it. Our job – as concerned citizens – is to present the news as we see it, and let the individual reader decide their own opinion.

Despair and hopelessness can be the trigger to channel a person into a more spiritual thought process. If so, if we have any overarching reason why we are here, we must assist where we can.

I have contacted some very knowledgeable experts with emerging data from this website. These are medical doctors with degrees in physics as well as medicine. Some have had access to Chernobyl data. The data was in disarray since some scientists were thrown in prison and there was government repression as well as a public health disaster.

The response initially was raised eyebrows and further interest in the numbers coming out of the EPA. The delay in analysis was troubling.

There is enough data to show that we will probably live for many more years. The mortality and morbidity statistics are being analysed by epidemiologists. We shall see in due course just how bad its going to be. The waste management of nuclear garbage concerns me. Meltdowns and wars, too. At this rate, you can understand why no insurance company wants to underwrite this mess and our government limits your rights to compensation.

If I had to guess. The radiation in the ocean will result in bioaccumulation and concentration in certain organs. Food supplies will be greatly affected. Cancer rates will go up. Children will be exposed to 90Sr and 137Cs similar or greater than during the Cold War.

Nobody really knows…. Fallout moves by environmental vectors. Each radionuclide is different.

They will do it again and again until they have to pay for the mess. That is how business works. Why wouldn't they? Because they are nice guys? No, they make their campaign contributions and are good to go.

They can't/won't "pay." I mean not even slightly "proportionately." I'm all for any PR trying to force that to happen. But "they will do it again and again until they have to pay for the mess" is a fairy tale in this kind of climate. Maybe a few plaintffs and their lawyers will get payment.

Then again, if just the USS Reagan sailors' tragic plight were to go viral in the news, every bit of pressure would be worth it.

As for how long we live and the contamination factors: It's all about intersections and stress points. Like how many people are downed before an economy cannot function and the like.

Like Belarus (Chernobyl) is still a nation, but it's a crippled one. If/when "America is Belarus," the collapse becomes unsustainable.

We don't know the time factors in play because we have never faced this.

TIS, very interesting ideas for additional forums.
There was some mention of something like an "ENEnews Convention".
I think the Convention is right here, now.

You know, I don't disagree with anything of your specifics.

In light of the thread topic, I am suggesting it is possible that intentional demoralisation could be used here, in the guise of repeatedly expressing messages of a hopeless nature.

Is it so unlikely, given what we know?

One can become trapped in a self-reinforcing loop of despair and hopelessness which can trigger many things, including a downward spiral ending in suicide. I would hope anyone here – commenting or lurking – experiencing such would reach out for help. I don't think more messages of hopelessness would be that help.

Time is short, I concur with you. People oftentimes need to acknowledge where they already are before they can shift gears. We have way more of a problem of having too many in outright denial!

Even people saying "we're doomed" — that doesn't mean the end of activism or the beginning of helplessness. There is education, there is mitigation, there is compassion. There are also openings for people to say we can do this, we can do that, and resourceful and inventive people can always do more.

So I say let people say what they want, what is in their heart, so long as they are not ridiculously dragging others down.

One should ALWAYS follow the money. One should always question authority. But one should not over-generalize.

In 40 years of environmental activism I have never received a single penny. To the contrary, I donate money to environmental groups and contribute my time. I organize and advise many such groups all free of charge.

I have been active in civil rights, women's rights, worker safety, environmental and consumer issues. I often address City Councils and meet with politicians. I am active on the national, state and local level and sit on several steering committees. I frequently represent whistleblowers in environmental safety issues. I represent ratepayers unions. In the past, I have represented peace officers associations, mostly firefighters.

To question someone's motives is always the right thing to do. But to slander someone's reputation as an anonymous blogger is cowardly. Some have stepped over that line through ignorance. I can stand up for myself. I am also very forgiving of those who do not understand my personal agenda. I have not convinced a man if I have silenced him.

Moving right along, Glenn Greenwald is an interesting and controversial lawyer. Many in the US want him prosecuted. There is great danger in sticking one's neck out if it is against corporate interests. Let's not attack the messenger unless one wants to reveal who he is.

I suspect Socrates that Syke wasnt fully aware of what you are doing. This is understandable since you seldom boast of your accomplishments. Syke and others are trying to make sense of a world gone mad, gathering here at ENEnews because this microscopic community will listen to the fellow shocked global citizens of a world that turns a deaf ear to a mind-blowing scenario unfolding.

Dont know about you, but for me its like waking up to a science fiction nightmare or something, where even friends and family look at me askance. Any wonder that a fellow soul (think how recently we were all children!) may stumble in the crowd here, divorced from the human contact that is perhaps 80% of the communication pathway.

In general, I see a LOT of emotional underpinning to posts. Sending a shill here is like sending him to an island of feral children with a vengeance…

I think some of the extreme nonsense, like the turner radio network blitz late dec. 2013, are deliberate attempts to make all antinukers look like hysterical idiots no one can believe. That is one of the reasons I have insisted since the beginning that we use or cite credible sources, even when those same sources are downplaying the info. WIPP, for instance. Where is the original citation for the 330,000,000 becquerel figure? It is not (and neverwill be) in doe docs. Or the apacalyptic image of fuku ocean radiation, when it was a depiction of ocean wave height? Or that photo of round burning oil tanks in tokyo, which keeps making the rounds as a fukushima photo. Wtf? If we try to maintain some accuracy in our claims it is already bad enough without exaggerating. The other side deliberately plants over the top misinformation to make the antinuke side look ridiculous.

So's not to give the creepers the means to hone their 'craft', I'll only advise that others simply watch who's posting OT material and who's initiating attacks against others.

Regardless what 'techniques' are being used, if 'someone' refuses to demonstrate respect to others, they're attempting to foment discord. While each of us has an obligation to challenge the contentious behavior of others, such action must be tempered with respect and the awareness that we're all evolving in our world view.

"It's always been about showing respect towards – all – others…"

Aftershock, that is well-written. I moderate a discussion list, and it can be a daunting task. This site may be particularly so, as it's full of what from a scientific point of view might be called conjecture, to outright opinion, to letting off steam, to what might be (depending upon who you believe) reliance upon credible sources. The point above, though, even at opinion, is where a comment veers OT to me. Contentiousness is part of it all, but if one is simply personally taunting and clogging up posts with such, it seems like a moot point at which one becomes disruptive. That may be personally me. I don't mind contentiousness at all, but there is a point at which it's simply that.

I agree that there should be, as best as can be done, some context to what one writes. Opinion should be realized and naked. I find it really disingenuous when one takes a quote from another to use that as some proof of a personal point and places it in context never intended by the author of that quote. Worse is using an innocuous word as a sword.

I don't know what to say regarding this that wouldn't seem to me somehow demeaning to others, such as 'use your head' or some other remark that can be taken as condescension. Admin here is awfully tolerant, and while that actually may be somewhat a function of the amount of time in a day, we should respect that their time could be better spent policing us.

While we never want to dull the unique contributions that many make out here, without clear instruction to what's expected, most of those gems (important information and thoughts) become lost to the reader. I've been commenting on the Snowden / NSA revelations over at the Comment is Free (CiF) forum section of the Guardian website since the story broke last year.

The CiF is an interesting practical example of the process described in a real-world application. However, the paid shills are not very well informed and lack any kind of 'craft' – they are transparently obvious in their attempts at obfuscation and disruption and get called out frequently.

Like with the nuclear debate on the CiF and here on ENE and elsewhere in opinion sharing, the attempt is to distract attention from the moral and ethical illegality and negligence of the State, Mainstream Media and Corporate collusion, and instead deride the ideas and character of the public.

The public who this tri-arch should be beholden to as taxpaying voters who the agencies 'protect', the government represents as servants, and who pay for the media services to provide accurate and honest news in the public interest. These 'terms of service', the social contract, the ideology behind the rule of law underpinning the democracy has been broken and perverted by the incest between big money, corporate lobbyists and corrupt politics.

The NSA attacks our basic rights and freedoms and denies us the right to dignity and privacy to further short term agendas.

The nuclear industry, suspended in 20th Century ideology, denies the right of all species to life on this planet for short term profit.

Chuck Hagel weighs in on U.S. nuclear arsenal — spending $355 BILLION is OK with him.

    http://www.latimes.com/opinion/commentary/la-oe-mcmanus-column-nuclear-defense-budget-20140226,0,4069852.column

"The headlines on the Pentagon budget unveiled by Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel this week were all about austerity: the smallest U.S. Army since 1940; fewer aircraft, ships and armored vehicles; even some modest belt-tightening on future military pay and benefits."

"But one category of military spending largely escaped the budget ax: nuclear weapons."

"The Congressional Budget Office estimates that U.S. nuclear forces will cost $355 billion over the next 10 years. About $89 billion of that will go to replacing aging missiles, submarines and bombers, and those costs will grow much larger after 2023, the CBO warned in a recent report."

"The reason officials don't like to talk about reducing nuclear arsenals is simple, and it applies in both Washington and Moscow: The weapons may have a diminishing role, BUT THEY ARE PROTECTED BY POLITICAL SPONSORS — sometimes based on honest disagreements over strategy, sometimes because of the jobs they provide." [my emphasis]

[Nonsense -- it's all about profits for the Nuke industry really.]

"Take nuclear submarines. Sometime after 2020, the Pentagon plans to replace all 12 of its subs that carry nuclear weapons at a cost that will probably exceed $6 billion a boat."

    Does it matter.
They play the part well ..it's their specialty ..promotions based.. deceit capabilities.
They mingle .. .cajole .. sometimes behaving in the troll/shill capacity.
They like to see..if they can rattle cages.
Get new activists to step forward.
See how far they can push..the solid ones..tweeking..their sensitivities.
This intel is in control of the blogging on the MSM sites..etc.

What I find interesting..is that those that are involved in the government/military act as if they are exempt.
Take Chuckie Casto ..I'm rather 'too small fish to fry'.
But I can assume I am being listened in upon as most Americans and many around the world are.
But casto..you got to know they are 'bugging' him ..to make sure he keeps to the 'party line'.
    All of the Jaczko..etc..etc..
All of them..top too bottom..toadies of the government are no more free than the activists themselves.
Those creating the matrix..are the most tied in.
    Ahhh.

    Here’s an important observation I recently made…

I was posting a comment using DISQUS on an article that had something to do with Fukushima.

As I am still typing my comment to the article, it says to the bottom-right-hand-side of the comment box that someone is typing a reply to my comment.

I HAD NOT POSTED MY COMMENT YET, I HAD NOT HIT THE ENTER BUTTON TO POST MY COMMENT YET, and someone was already typing a reply to my comment.

IMO, this tells me that someone (moderators ???) are seeing comments typed LIVE and are getting their responses ready even before someone hits the ENTER button to post their comment.

    Who are these moderators?

    Are they funded moderators?

So far the "moderators" have all been pro-nuke.

Plus, have you noticed that you need to give your cellphone number now to open a youtube, Huffington Post, Facebook, Yahoo, Google, etc. account ?

Well, said, Heart. I'm continually dismayed by the level of trust exercised by the normal around me concerning the internet. Don't get me wrong, I use it, emails especially since I'm more or less socially restricted. But never social sites in which I have to post personal information, even the seemingly innocuous? They can have my email address and whatever name I choose to use to represent myself and no more. Pay bills or bank online? Hell, no.

While some here might look upon the past as some golden age in newpapers and magazines it wasn't much different than the internet of today. There are, and always will be some true warriors, granted, but the greatest difference to me is in availability and timliness. Today it's almost instantaneous and rather than a choice of a local newspaper, one can read from all over the world.

Regarding Snowden, to me personally it changed nothing. I've been on the internet through the 8.something phone modems and IRC, and one noticed the gathering, loss of control of OSs. I've disliked Google from day one, cookies are little accepted nor plug-ins or Active X. I hate Adobe for its intrusions, (on viewing a PDF, I instantly remove their ARM registry entry, clear temp files and history, and keep references in a simply text file if needed) and I feel any compromise made is one of my choice. Non-cooperation, to me, is the ultimate personal weapon.

One has to remember that one doesn't own the internet any more than one owned newspapers. magazines, or television. There is payment for its use, in personal information and surveillance, in its ads and the payment for those ads added to each and every product that is advertised and bought and sold. The choice, then, is some compromise, or the time and effort to somehow learn and use all these encryption schemes (which you also don't own, nor can be assured of their reliability) that likely flags one for surveillance, or have a stand-alone machine on which one types papers, plays games, and does math problems.

I would argue that nuclear electrical generation is also war-mongering because they siphon off the weapons grade enriched goodies constantly.

There are many people in every scientific field of study that are at a genius level in their selected focus of science, but have little to no social skills, or the capacity for empathy. great closer, newsblackoutUSA. I would like to develop your "unemployment line" statement. While it's (undeniably) true that most fear being sent back to the Blacksmith's anvil to earn a living, thinking that people are dependent on nuclear power is not entirely true. Most-every area of nuclear power can be applied to other industries; most notably, renewable energy systems! The reason this is not common knowledge, should be obvious. Those who – control – the nuclear technologies industry are concerned with the welfare (economic or otherwise) of those who are employed within that industry. As such, the employees of that industry are encouraged to think with an insular mindset; that their skills are limited to nuclear power! Truth is, their skills/expertise would fit well in any other modern industry. It's only the upper-tier managers and shareholders who'd lose if (when) that deadly industry is eventually abandoned. For those who may have their doubts about this seamless transition in professional expertise, know that many energy-oriented multinationals (like GE) which currently have irons in the nuclear furnace are – already – moving towards renewable energy systems! The savvy ones know, if they're to avoid the growing liability of nuclear power, distancing ones corporate portfolio is the only safe haven…

The Secret Playbook of Social Media Censors
Posted on February 26, 2014 by WashingtonsBlog
"Giving specific examples will illustrate the technique. Reddit moderators have continuously reset the counter over the last couple of days on the new Greenwald/Snowden story, to destroy momentum which would otherwise have guaranteed that the story was the top story.

Similarly, the owners of popular Youtube channels have repeatedly reported that Counter Resets are done on their most controversial news stories.

The attractiveness of the Counter Reset from a moderator’s perspective is that it destroys momentum, while leaving some plausible deniability."

When eugenics stopped being "cool", reproductive care became the real (public) focus. Sadly, everyone still wants to tar PP with accusations of eugenics, even though abortions make up less than 3% of their services. It's called Planned PARENTHOOD, after all.

The sickest part of all of this, the surveillance, the COINTELPRO, the shills and trolls and disinformants and penetrators…the sickest part of it is the goal to keep people apart. To keep people mistrustful of each other. To make collective and community action a landmine where the best are destroyed. Destroyed families, workplaces, marriages, unions, healthcare. And the final destruction of our very air, water and land. All to keep making weapons and war. How could it be so simple as that…but it is. All for money and weapons and war.

    Here's some truth.

My great-grandparents were missionaries in Japan from 1900-1941. The house they lived in was spared (somehow) the firestorm over Tokyo during WW II. In that same house my sister conceived her first born before flying back to the US.

December 7, 1941 was my mother's 12 birthday and she remembers her father saying "those aren't American planes." (he had grown up in Japan and knew the sound of Zeroes).

Japan is part of my upbringing, woven into my very psyche.

I have many sales people drop in at my work.

Today one, who has a wife and children, became aware.

Did not even know of Fukushima. He interrupted my lunch.

So, I spoke for a half an hour on this subject. He acknowledged.

He thanked me for making him aware. He will stop in here.

Just one more average consumer. Eyes wide shut now open.

It is the way that it will be done. It is the only way.

Change by anarchy, is nothing but destruction.

I only asked him to turn to his fellow human and speak up.

No entity can alter or stop the truth spoken this way.

Word of mouth is an ancient communication tool.

History proves the changes made by one on one communication.

The original critical mass. The truth is unstoppable…

I agree and have said the same here many times.

Eye to eye. Word of mouth. First 1 then 2, then 4 etc…

Reading/feeling the truth in tone of the voice and the seriousness of the eyes conveys better than any other tool.

      Words are sometimes manipulated.
I think it was obewanspeaks that called it "Word Craft". That's a good way of saying it.

i spoke to the head IT guy at work today and brought in my Inspector. My workplace is actually lower in CPM than my home. We talked about fuku. At least with the coverage of the fish cesium levels now,in MSM, he was willing to hear me say- this is nothing new! ocean and fish pollution for three years already! He had never heard of WIPP or carlsbad new mexico fire. He said- And I love fish, my kids love tuna! Guess I can't pack that for their lunch any more. I wanted to say, <not if you love them!> but I did not . I did say- I stopped eating fish. The predators bio accumulate. The sardines and herring populations collapsed. The tuna migrates through Pacific waters. Why would I want an internal exposure radiating me from the inside?
My coworker told me his brother in law just was diagnosed- agressive skull cancer- invading his jaw and neck/ mastoid….sounded so much like Ontological's troubles but newly discovered…..Terrible… made me wonder about fuel fleas.
IT guy at work is not stupid. He didn't want to know what i told him but he heard me, finally, thanks to the break in silence in the MSM about the fish. We all communicate little by little as we can.

  • Hey guys and gals, before I forget. I can no longer post at nukepro, an hour after I posted the "admission of high level waste at WIPP" I lost access to my blog, no email, no nothing, no ability to enter the management screen. No error message.

At WIPP they measure 46Bq, thats basically CPS, not CPM. And then after they "eliminated the background", their reported number for the 3000' away station that was NOT in the windstream at the time, they reported .64 instead of 46.

Got it? Their meter said 46 CPS and they reduced it by 98.7% to report .64. So that means 46-.64 is the background, 45.36 CPS or 2721 CPM.

A quick conversion to mSv using the NukePro table therefore puts the background around 182 mSv per year.

The average background in USA is around 2 mSv, not counting medical BS. At 250 mSv a nuke plants career is done, and they get intense medical monitoring for the rest of their life. At 50 mSv in a year, the nuke plant worker is "maxed out" and has to go work a desk job far away from any plant.

So do you really think the background is 182 mSv? Can you believe they want to lie to this level? As the nearby military base orders 1200 full radiation suits?
