TEPCO finds possibly active faults near Fukushima, NHK, August 31, 2011:

Tokyo Electric Power Company suspects there are 5 active faults near the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant that could affect the crippled plant if they cause a tremor. [...]

TEPCO said on Tuesday that geological deformations were observed for the first time at 5 faults, suggesting they are active. [...]

Sorry, but it’s not really important now.

The horses are already out of the barn and halfway to the next county – no chance of rounding them up again.

I guess they are setting the stage for more terrible news to be released, but I don’t know how it could get any worse.

Previously considered not to cause quakes by whom?
TEPCO just now considering the faults..they built the plant right on top of.
      Active now….really?..do tell.

There really is very little left to say….. but from a long time lurker on this site, that learned so much…….

So hey, I’m gonna try and make a movie.

Fukushima gave a case of Chronic Radiation Poisoning…. And I want my vengeance….

Or at least for the Gates Foundation to buy TEPCO, and stop the emissions

Boy am I a dreamer…. We did do this to ourselves, btw.

“Or at least for the Gates Foundation to buy TEPCO, and stop the emissions”

I thought I have been seeing Good Ole Gates defending the nuke industry lately.

Mr Gates…is planning on making his own nuclear reactor.
        He just loves radiation….

Bill Gates owns TerraPower. He doesn’t just defend nuclear power, he is the new quack. India is strongly thinking of Gate’s new design. These are small nuclear units. They anticipate selling and installing 4,000 soon. They supposedly complete the fuel cycle. Will use a great deal of plutonium. They are to be buried for 100 years and be self perpetuating. What will they do with them after 100 years. I guess they don’t care.

My 50th univ. reunion is going to be in Oct. Guess what one of the speakers will be lecturing about? Nuclear power without nuclear weapons? I won’t be attending. They aren’t even questioning the advisability of the use of nuclear energy. I’m fairly sure the discussion will be about TerraPower’s designs. One of my US senators is Morman and he is advocating these small, local nuclear stations. No one will be able to get away from them.

Of course they are insured by the gov’t and heavily subsidized. How to be wealthy from corporate welfare and keep the wealth out of the hands of the general population.

EARTHQUAKE faults do not have quakes? duuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhh! We learned that in 1st grade. I guess they {tepco} skipped that grade.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fault_(geology)

Yes Bill Gates has definitely fallen prey to nuclear quackery. He is a smart man though and when he realizes the extent of Fukushima he may decide his family needs about a 50 year vacation down in Paraguay. The rich rats are going to vote with their feet when they wise up to TSHTF.

Bill should spend a few days at Fuku to soak up the most recent innovations in the industry….Limitless corium…fision all around you….I’m sure he would be inspired to figure out a way to harness the energy for profit.

What i find (again) unbelievable is the fact that a private company called tepco comes up with these “new findings” about (not yet) active fault lines in the area.
Doesn’t the Japanese government have a geological service who does these kind of surveys?

  • Hey Bread and Butter, “Doesn’t the Japanese government have a geological service who does these kind of surveys?” If they had that service unhindered by secret bribes Fukushima and most of the other reactors would have never been built.

Accidents waiting to happen along with those reactors in California and other places in States not to mention no solution to used fuel makes the whole industry one big global accident waiting to happen. Anything but green.

Think its just a way for them to explain away their folly like “Oh we never knew about those fault lines like the accident (or future accidents ) was completely unforeseen.

It seems illogical but thats just cause we can’t see where all the money goes.

The only green the nuclear proponents consider is the kind with dead presidents on it.
But where will they spend it if everyone and everything is poisoned? Do they have another planet to go to? It is this that I don’t understand.

See that’s not the way they are able to think. These greedy folks take life one day at a time…that’s evident by this whole nuclear reactor way of making money, they don’t think about anything BUT money…money, money, what can i buy, money, money….not a rational lot.
