Japan Raises Possibility of Breach in Reactor Vessel, New York Times, March 25, 2011:
Japan’s effort to contain the crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant suffered a setback, an official said on Friday, citing evidence that the reactor vessel of the No. 3 unit may have been damaged.
The development, described at a news conference by Hidehiko Nishiyama, deputy director-general of the Japan Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency, raises the possibility that radiation from the mox fuel in the reactor — a combination of uranium and plutonium — could be released.
One sign that a breach may have occurred in the reactor vessel, Mr. Nishiyama said, took place on Thursday when three workers who were trying to connect an electrical cable to a pump in a turbine building next to the reactor were injured when they stepped into water that was found to be significantly more radioactive than normal in a reactor. The No. 3 unit, the only one of the six reactors at the site that uses the mox fuel, was damaged by a hydrogen explosion on March 14. …

Apparently, The New York Times has something at stake in saying that Mox is worse than the rest, when the rest is ultimately a disaster, but being a disaster apparently does not matter, what matters is to spew bad words on a side issue…

You should see the black thick crap on the paper towel I just wiped my car back windshield with…. un frickin believable… it has to be from Japan.. I have never seen anything like it. I had to photograph it. This is coming from the air in SF Bay Area. Black paper towel folks. The …. has hit the fan for real. Scary. Anyone know what the elements in it could be? I don’t want to guess actually.

I`m on Vancouver Island and thought today was the harshest on my throat. Ultra bright sunny breaks and the blackest cloud formations – none of which let down any significant rainfall. Something is really irritating my throat though. It feels like I have walked through that thick smoke fire.

Seeing it in Florida again, too! Strangest grey skies that are reflectively bright but no rain in forecast. Some type of dusty particles in air causing dry cough.

Large grey surfaces are reflections of the sun off the water.

The sawgrass has been on fire in florida…we have had massive amounts of fires like texas. They have been fluctuating with the wind. The radiation is colorless, odorless and invisible, but the radioactive smoking sawgrass smoke isint!

I keep thinking its alergies…constant junk in my throat making it hard to talk sometimes…however, my 4 year old son is coughing all night these past two days.

1. HEPA air filters..it’s worth it!! Coming from a family of asthmatics, Austin Air is a great line. Talk to them, it’s small, it ships fast, & order the max variety. It will reduce the total pollution load on your immune systems.
2. Rinse & gargle out with baking soda & RO filtered water. You should be able to find pre-mixed ‘Tri-Salts’ or ‘Bicarb’ at local health food stores or at a compounding pharmacy…This quiets your symptoms and helps detox!
3. You should re-up beneficial supplements ..for your son, especially.
4. Sorry to hear of this… but, it’s not surprising.
