Title: Noticias de Prensa Latina – High Levels of Radiation at Fukushima Nuclear Plant
Source: Prensa Latina News Agency
Date: Feb 21
[...] On Monday, a group of journalists was allowed to tour some of the places on the ground, seriously affected by the earthquake and tsunami in March 11, 2011, which generated an unprecedented nuclear crisis.
A report on TV channel NHK said that after working in the affected areas, four workers have died, victims of leukemia or heart attack, and that at least 43 cracks have been detected in the cooling systems of the plant. [...]

Yes, I sam sure four workers have died, among many, many other workers who will have died there.
In a month or three, we will hear that indeed some four workers died, but maybe four died per day, or per week…it's the usual drip-drip of slowly-released mixture of truth and lies that TEPCO uses to confuse and demoralize anyone attempting to follow this evil parade which they are presenting to us.

They are just trying to preserve their power, privilege, and pension PPP!

I had a person say "No one has died from the Fukushima Nuclear disaster", in the comments section a local paper article about a radioactive cloud I had detected.
This was my reply.
"That is interesting about no worker deaths, because there is this document dated March 16th 2011 stating that "Japan reports 5 persons have receive lethal radiation doses".

I think there would be the general consensus amongst well informed enenews users that a large number of people worldwide have already died from this disaster. There has been lots of evidence to support this view presented in articles on enenews and elsewhere on the Internet over the last year.

Took 2 months to process, but late than never.
Radiation Alert Inspector Detector Purchased
I kept putting this off because it was never in stock. Finally, just placed the order and then was patient. I actually feel alot better about having SOME TYPE of radiation detector.
There is alot to detecting radiation, and I don't know it all, but will learn alot more and will share it.

For those on a tight budget and feel the need for a good quality inexpensive geiger counter with data logging , here is one that I have purchased. GMC300
It is my second one from this company. My first was the GMC200 and I was very happy with it. I just wanted a stand alone unit with data logging….

Thanks Jebus. I have been looking for a good quality (less expensive than the inspector) counter. Maybe little less sensitive but it appears to have a lot more capability than some others out there. Checking it out.
Report Comment
YW Ruth,
The only thing that it lacks is the ability to check for Alpha, but that is a difficult one to check for anyways.
But, if you have Alpha you will most likely have Beta.
Anyways, for the average citizen, you are not looking for exact amounts, you want to be able to make rational decisions as to the need to report the presence of radionuclides or determine the need to scram quickly away from there.
There is a forum on that site that is worth checking out and you can download a software demo to check out the features.
I have noticed some others from here on the forum.
Maybe they will speak up and review their experiences with these counters.

Nice stock:) Did you get the one with the probe? That's the one I wanted but out of stock all of the time too so I have the regular Inspector.
Agreenroad, not trying to speak for stock but I chose it because the specifications showed it detects at much lower levels than the other handhelds. http://www.geigercounters.com/SpecInsp.htm (that link has the other model specs too)

It says it has some internal probe that you can plug in on the outside….soon I shall see.

Good to see you have purchased a Geiger counter. Please post your background radiation readings in the enenews Radiation Monitoring Data forum once you have mastered it. The more information provided by everyone the better.
A couple tips.
If you do ground or external measurements on snow or wet surfaces make sure your Geiger counter in a sealed zip lock plastic bag. this is to protect it from contamination, and the elements. After out door use wash your hands and put on a pair of surgical gloves to remove it from the bag. Otherwise you could contaminated the Geiger counter.
Some of you use your Geiger counter to test food. Don't place it directly against fruit and vegetables etc., the surface contact could also contaminate your Geiger counter and prevent it from providing accurate measurements in the future. Put food for testing in a plastic bag first.
Geiger Counters are not sensitive enough to be of much use testing food or liquids unless the food or liquid is badly contaminated it won't show anything above your background level.
You really need a scintillator or spectrometer to do food and liquid testing properly, and the skills to work this equipment properly. Then again Geiger counter testing of food, or liquids before consumption is better than nothing.

Thanks, I put your comments as a post at Da Pimp, and will add to tips as I learn them.
I am in Hawaii, so if I start testing snow, then we all have some serious problems to contend with….not just radiation, LOL!

Hi Stock, You got one of the best units on the market. I have see alot of videos on you tube of people testing food with the Alert Inspector and it does pick up contamination. Since your in Hawaii I might suggest testing top of the food chain items such as beef and tuna.

Well we know 56 workers died at Chernobyl and although I can't prove it I think the death total at Fukushima Daiichi is up in the hundreds. Somebody is going to speak the truth eventually.
Report Comment
They state that based on extensive research from the time Chernobyl melted through and exploded to now, that there are between 1 MILLION DEATHS (http://youtu.be/f4uVgMp4Ycs) and/or 9 MILLION VICTIMS up to around 2001/2004….(See links below)\
‘Victims’ includes those who have cancer, deformities, one of 2,400 genetic diseases, etc…
UN and OCHA States There Are 9 Million Victims From Chernobyl
For more details, go to A Green Road Blog
http://www.care2.com/c2c/share/detail/3091323
So if Fukushima is WORSE than Chernobyl, how many victims will there be? It all depends on who is counting. If the nuke industry is allowed to do their massaging, averaging, and statistical 'analysis', no one will die and there will be ZERO victims.
What happens when a plant releases 400 to 700 pounds of plutonium and 20-100 TONS of uranium dust into a high altitude plume?
What happens when globally, as billions breathe in 'hot' particles on a daily basis, for years or generations, just from this plant?

Indeed I am thinking 2 to 5 million acute deaths (like within 3 years), 100 to 200 million long term, 500 million disease or dysfunction of some kind.
Report Comment
I hope that your numbers will be the case, or less.. best case.
From what I am reading about the extremely LOW fatality threshold dose of plutonium inhaled and it being fatal in 100 percent of the cases, even at EXTREMELY LOW DOSES, I am not as confident as you are…
Worst case, we may have already had a global life extinction event of all living things on the planet that breathe air, due to the HUGE dust plume of plutonium released. Everyone on the planet may already have a terminal date. If worst case comes to pass, it just takes awhile for the plutonium to do it's job, once it gets into the lungs.
I pray that I am wrong, and that I misunderstand the toxicity of plutonium, or that #3 did not explode, or that 3 SFP did not explode and that nothing else at FUKU released plutonium.
We will see… watch for lots and lots of unexplained health issues, (all kinds of cancers, all organs, glands and systems)in humans and all animals, rapidly increasing in number and frequency, over the next few years.
My guess is that this would be the sign post of plutonium poisoning of all life on the planet.
Report Comment
I know I took a hit, so hope the toxicity is overblown. I think it is "one particle causing guaranteed cancer", hell, the devil couldnt even do that.
Report Comment
I estimate Fukushima has already released approximately 50 times as much radiation as Chernobyl, and that is based on my estimate that 1/3 of the possible radiation is released.
It should also be noted that the concentration of truly deadly materials is much higher in Fukushima fallout than it was at Chernobyl.
If that 9 million victim figure is correct – I think you can safely multiply that times 500 or so to get the equivalent number for Fukushima – Let's see, that's 5 Billion – or about 3/4 of the world's population.
People do not seem to understand the potential damage here. Just multiply the number by 50 – which is what is released today then you'r talking half a billion victims.

Can you break that down and get more specific? I am still trying to figure out total numbers and will adjust figures as I learn more…
No one seems to be interested in figuring out total radiation released from all FUKU sources, and into all arenas, including the explosions, fires, etc.. See blog post below.
For being a year away from the accident, it is AMAZING that little or nothing is known about what actually happened, and what amount of nuclear fuel is still left at FUKU, compared to what they started with..
For example, if all FUKU reactors liberated ALL OF THEIR NOBLE GASES, what does that mean all by itself in terms of what has been released; uranium, plutonium, xenon, cesium, etc..?
Report Comment
I'll have to see if I can find the data. I did some back of the envelope calculations many months ago. Chernobyl is tiny compared to Fukushima.
If I recall correctly, fukushima had approximately 150x as much fuel on site vs. chernobyl unit 4. About 1/3 of the Fuku fuel is very likely to have burned so far . The rest is waiting to burn.
Only unit 4 burned at Chernobyl – the other reactors continued to operate after the disaster for many years.
Chernobyl unit 4 was a brand new reactor – 3 months old at the time of the accident. No spent fuel was available to burn. This means, even though the fuel was probably hotter than much of Fukushima fuel – it didn't have much fission generated plutonium, either. Additionally a good percentage of Chernobyl's radiation got contained by the "tomb" built over the reactor in just a few months after the disaster.
To the contrary, Japan has left Fukushima wide open to leak radiation into the environment. despite huge efforts to keep the fuel cool, they've made no effort whatsoever to control the releases of radiation if that is insufficient, which it has been.
So we've got 150X the fuel, more plutonium and a much bigger percentage of release – I multiply the fuel quantity by 3.5X for those factors to get that 500X figure above. Even if you just go with the 150X number it's still a very big release.

My hat is off to them to build that tomb in those conditions, so quickly. That is some hero shit there.

AGR responded: >They state that based on extensive research from the time Chernobyl melted through and exploded to now, that there are between 1 MILLION DEATHS…
SP: Yes, I agree that millions of civilians have died from Chernobyl. My point was in retelling the old nuclear industry lie that "in the history of the commercial nuclear industry only 56 "workers" died at Chernobyl."
Those were mainly the helicopter crews who put out the fire at Unit 4 in Chernobyl. Many of the 800,000 liquidators died from radiation effects, but the nuclear industry only admits to the 56.
So in the sorry tradition of the miscreants running the nuclear industry we have new lies and statistical coverup coming out of Fukushima. Lack of records for the yakuza-sponsored employees and falsification of fatalities will make the Russians look inept by comparison in their coverup.
The Japanese bureaucrats are shrewd liars and have virtually zero pressure from citizen groups in Japan who have been beaten into submission for the past 50 years by the corporatocracy in Japan. The citizens of Japan are in far greater danger of death and mutated defects than the Russian populace of 1986 because the Japanese have little options to relocate their farms. Professionals can relocate, but farm families are left to grow deadly crops they feed their own families and also sell their surplus on the world market.
Look at all these Japanese favorite foods and we recognize the dire consequences to the Japanese lifestyles and their food customers from contaminated farmland and ocean water ruined by radiation.

U.S. Nuke Official: ‘This Is Too Big for Tepco’
“This has really overwhelmed Tepco,” he said late Wednesday, March 16, U.S. time. “You know, this is too big for Tepco.”
“I said, ‘I just don’t see it,’ and I didn’t,” he recalled in the interview. He placed more credence in U.S. evidence that seemed to show the pool was destroyed.
“I don’t think that the complete story is out. Until you pull the fuel out, you don’t know what happened,” he said. He also questioned Tepco’s theory that the March 15 explosion at No. 4, which was the source of the concern about damage to the fuel pool, was caused by a leak of hydrogen from reactor No. 3.
“It needs to be proven to me still,” said Mr. Casto, who wondered whether damage to fuel rods in No. 4 could have set off the explosion….

Yea right, ONLY four died? If you squeeze your eyes shut, do not look around, and you quit counting after four, plus you do not measure ANY internal radiation of ANYONE dying of anything.. and then you pressure the docs to NEVER investigate any illnesses or deaths in the nuclear radiation direction, NO MATTER WHAT, then really, NO ONE died of radiation.. This is fear mongering. MORE radiation is good for you and smiling will protect you.
After all, that is what they did in Russia after Chernobyl to come up with the no one harmed and only 57 deaths fairy tale.

Everyone of us has read, listened to, watched the same nuclear mantras. One of them is "no one has died from the accident". Do you see the trend to repeat meaningless formula, which TV watchers just take for granted. Simple, easy to repeat, no efforts required to understand. They just hypnotise the public, searching comfort and stimulatins from the TV. They give contradicting data, minimize the numbers, and come out with one and the same conclusions everywhere!
"we are ivestigating, but no connection to Fukushima/radiation"
"no immediate threat"
"no impact on human health"
"radiation is natural"
"the second after Chernobil"
"cold shut down"
"life back to normal, …after the earhquake and …"
I am sure you feel the manipulation, because you you speak your own minds with your own words. But we urgenly need to find all these mantras and blow them into pieces! These mantras are the sceleton of the manipulation.

Since it's not possible to post a picture I have to copy what I've found in "Japan's No 1 English Magazine" Metropolis (Jan 20 – Feb 2):
"The government conducted a survey asking people what they 'have become more concious about' since the March 11 disaster. The top four answers were 'saving elctricity', 'preparing for future disasters', 'placing more importance on ties with family members and relatives' and 'WE SHOULD NOT BE AFFECTED BY RUMORS'.
It's like a horror movie: THEY are everywhere.
It's incredible!
