LOOK AT THIS! I went to check the white house website to see how the petition for Louisianna and Texas to suceed from the union is going just now and you wont believe what I saw. The Texas petition was started yesterday, I signed up today and the count was at 2000 give or take and is now at 4430 and simililar results with louisianna and climbing fast, but what really got my attention is that as of today 13 other states have also started the same petitions to suceed and all are climbing as well – go to https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petitions to see the list. Lots of unhappy people across the country right now.

@TM2020 — "Lots of unhappy people across the country right now."
Man, you can say that again. The problem is that they are outnumbered by the happy ones by about 2%, which is why they are unhappy.
When these adolescent right-wingers lose an election, all they can think about is quitting. Secession. Which makes sense, don't it, because, as Jon Stewart observed, about the only thing Romney won was the Confederacy.
But getting back to LA, are you suggesting that the Democrats are responsible for the drill-baby-drill attitude that is screwing up the environment in the Gulf? If you can prove that point, I'm shifting to your (far) end of the political spectrum. But my guess is that if you look at the board of directors of Texas Brine you ain't gonna' find Al Gore.

Agree with you Pierpont next thing that will be said is the country wants to go back to slavery days, good lordy I say people have issues in the head! Well here is some info on this sinkhole in Loisiana and past just so you get a lil view on what has already happen and how things got covered over! http://www.thelivingmoon.com/45jack_files/03files/Endangered_Earth_Sinkhole_Louisiana.html

One tidal gauge at Sandy Hook, N.J., was reporting a 0.15 inch (3.9 mm) Sea level rise per year, according to the NOAA.
But it won't be collecting any more data, said a researcher at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. It was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.

This summer the North Carolina Senate passed a bill banning researchers from reporting predicted increases in the rate of sea level rise. But the ocean, unbound by legislation, is rising anyway — and in North Carolina this rise is accelerating, researchers reported here yesterday (Nov. 6) at the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America.

Weeping Lulu – very interesting maps! I take it these are predictions re earth crust and ocean changes such as levels rising, volcanoes, etc? If I remember correctly – there have been 4 periods when N.America had oceans running up through what is now prairie – went far north into Canada. I used to collect ammonite fossil rocks in n.e. BC Canada. Also – whole large mountain ranges once 'graced' parts of N. America that are no longer evident. Amazing earth!! I also take it it's the n.facilities that are of special interest – if/when large dramatic changes in earth surface develop there's no way n.waste won't add to the nightmare.

Please verify. Do you see what seems to be dead tree growth around the sinkhole with greener live growth apparently in the background? The camera doesn't pan out to show this very well. What is would seem to indicate is the presence of plant killing vapors from the adjacent hole or from beneath the trees.

I think it is most likely the poisonous hydrocarbons in the water.

Yep, that has been pointed out several times. Many are speculating that the area of dead trees represents the near future growth of the stinkhole. It is my understanding that those are predominantly cypress trees which do not typically loose their leaves in the winter. I believe that much of the editing done on the flyover videos is done to remove views that raise the type of questions you just asked.

Now that's pretty funny (not funny haha). My state has twice as many signatures as does the petition to test GMO foods for 180 days AND IS already EQUAL to all the signatures collected for federal help for the sinkhole. Yes, it doth appear a bunch 'o folks are plenty ticked off.

Its not so much one party or another nor one candidate or the other; people are pissed off because very few politicians are looking after the "peoples business". Its been called all sorts of names from 'soft fascism' to plutocracy but the common thread seems to be the power BP & Tepco & Texas Brine to get away with murder. Literally, murder; by poisoned/contaminated food, to Eco-system collapse due to massive construction & mining to major disasters. Not one official goes to jail, no trials, no hearings regardless of which party is in power. If it impacts jobs or the economy then the people complaining are marginalized, ignored or harassed into silence. The joke is the richest people own the land and companies and live away from the major sources of pollution (I bet if we tracked the Japanese elite we would see very few near Fukushima now). The pollution in Russia & China, America is massive and until humans put long term survival, i.e., clean food, water, heath care, clean transportation each election will be routing for sides in a ball game; might make you feel good or bad depending who you root for, but in the end we only get to watch.
