NHK, Aug. 20, 2013 (Transcript): Health professionals in Northern Japan are suspicious about a trend they’re seeing after the nuclear accident there two years ago. The normal incidence rate is thyroid cancer in children is one in hundreds of thousands […] Health professionals had tested 210,000 children by the end of July. On top of the 18 minors they diagnosed [with thyroid cancer], they suspect 25 others may have the illness. Members of the panel say they can’t determine if the accident has affected the rate of cancer among children. They’ve decided to set up the team experts to look into the situation [...]

Le Temps (Switzerland); Summarized translation by Worldcrunch, Aug. 21, 2013: The nuclear accident of Fukushima is already leading to a surge in the number of cases of thyroid cancer, according to research being presented this week in Switzerland by Japanese scientist Toshihide Tsuda. [...] annual incidence of thyroid cancer among those 18-years-old and younger in the Fukushima area to be 157 per one million, more than 31 times superior to the national average of five per million. [... A] stronger and faster evolution than that after the Chernobyl [...] and, Tsuda believes, are only the first signs of a wider health catastrophe. [...]

4-month old article in the Mainichi Daily News featuring Toshihide Tsuda, April 22, 2013:  Professor Toshihide Tsuda of Okayama University, an expert on pollution investigations, says, “Although we cannot say anything for certain based on numbers from a single round of tests, this is important information for looking into the causal relationships between the spread of radioactive material (iodine-131) and the incidence of thyroid gland cancer. The regular release of information is necessary for keeping tabs on health changes.”

    Someone here said it before me but they really did hit the mark;

    We're like starving gulls fighting to digest all the greasy chum they keep throwing out disguised as credible information.

    'Strontium levels' 'Iodine particles' 'Cesium effects'

    Let's call a spade a spade. Raw Plutonium + Highly enriched Uranium.
    That's whats gushing about all over the place. Can we read between the lines and expose these ridiculous code names for what they are attempting to hide

      Exactly wemadethis, iodine-131, cesium and now strontium have found their way into the MSM; but, what is so dis-informational is these radionuclides don't travel exclusively, they travel with hundreds of other radioneculides that are far more dangerous…like plutonium, uranium, etc.

      If you're exposed to anyone stated radionuclide (i.e. Iodine-131), then you're irradiated by dozens of others.

      ned, the other night I was listening to a radio broadcast about Fukushima, and a Nuclear Engineer called in (anonymously) and said he was very upset the authorities were not talking about "Bucky Balls" that come in an aerosol form in the waves of the ocean. He said the whole West Coast of California has been getting these Bucky Balls for several months now and it was only going to get worse, and the current brings most of it here but eventually it will go everywhere Also, FYI everyone, the EPA has "revised" all the Rad Data for food air and water samples from 2011, and 2012. The revision date was 08/07/2013.

        That would be one mechanism for "ocean to land transfer of actinides" … just guess we won't be hearing about it from EPA or DOD or RADNET or any of the supposed "authorities" … What we are witnessing is an "abuse of process" … but that charge only gets people's eyes to glaze over, although it does strike a nerve among lawyers, also known as "officers of the court."

    Test every SIX months, dont take a chance with rapid cancer spread and change. We do NOT know the health situation for children first exposed to HIGH levels of radiation, then medium to low continuous levels-with bursts of HIGH exposure. TEST!"Although we cannot say anything for certain based on numbers from a single round of tests"–its bad!

  • We Not They Finally

    These dishonest idiots! They did not already KNOW that in the Spring of last year, 2012, just a year over the catastrophe, there were already 36% of the children in that area with thyroid nodules? They didn’t KNOW that unless the growth was already too cancerous to ignore, they told the parents to come back in TWO YEARS? They didn’t KNOW that second opinions were barred?

    What else didn’t they know? That their nation was killing off its own children and didn’t even seem to CARE?

    And what about the 60% of the children all the way back in May 2012 who already tested positive for DIABETES!! So were there mass training programs for parents to administer insulin? No, of course not!

    What was THAT about? Just let the kids die? Because untreated diabetes is a killer.

  • Great. Some mainstream coverage on thyroid cancer. They have experts working on whether increased rates have anything to do with the triple meltdown. Sure. Glad the experts are on the case. No mention of why iodine pills were not handed out. They do like to disperse info years after the fact.
    At least you know who you cant trust.
