2 more workers at Fukushima Daiichi irradiated

[…] the second incident in a week […]

An alarm went off indicating rising radiation levels in the air […]

Tests they took before leaving the plant compound showed radiation levels […] 3 times the safety limit set by the operator.

The workers showed no immediate signs of illness. […]

Last week, 10 workers waiting for a bus at the same spot were found to have unusually high radioactivity levels. Some blamed a mist-generating machine designed to prevent heatstroke. But this time the machine was not in use.

  • We Not They Finally

"No immediate signs of illness"? Even the people at Hiroshima took weeks or months to die from radiation sickness. How much are they under-paying these people to have their very lives recklessly endangered? And I've read that they just FIRE sick workers and then don't even cover their medical care. So tragic.

Strange the radiation just 'happens' it coming up out of the ground? Is that the fog we see from some of the webcams we have all been concerned was dangerous. The fog..comes in waves, sometimes up from the ground. Does the surface at Fukushima now show cracks from the upwelling groundwater? Lots of thoughts/ answers of course.

Good questions. You made me wonder if it is something like "Old Faithful". Water comes in and gets hot enough to be expelled by steam, then it waits until another charge of water comes in.

I really hope it doesn't turn into a radioactive geyser.

It getting to hot for the workers and getting worse by the day, their plan to extract the spent fuel from reactor four is not going to work. Impossible to be done by robots, intricate process demands humans do the work. Doomed if you do and doomed if you don't. Quite the pickle. Those poor workers only getting ten bucks an hour to risk their lives daily. Shame on Tepco for not asking for help when help might have been possible. Now just too damn late.

  • seems like it is getting HOTTER at FUKU.

Of course, we never heard about radiation alarms before… maybe this is an every day thing, just normal

I think things are escalating quickly, and that is why the MSM are finally reporting on it, and the next step could be evacuating Japan with 40 Million people needing a place to live. The Rad levels have been increasing in So. California the last couple of weeks, so most likely no one will want to move to the West Coast. There was talk with the Chinese about accepting the refugees if it comes to that. It almost seems like a bad dream, except I just pinched myself and unfortunately I am awake.

These workers were also waiting for the bus.

Last week "Some blamed a mist-generating machine" Some who?? How can a mist-generating machine irradiate workers? It wasn't running this time. Were the workers contaminated somewhere else on the site before they went to the bus stop? Or had they been checked for radiation when they changed their clothes and were ok but became contaminated on the way to the bus stop? What type of radiation? Were the 10 workers and 2 workers working in the same place that day? Where is the alarm located?

"Tepco is looking for a cause." It seems like it shouldn't be too hard to track some of this down. Aren't they sick of looking so stupid?

I'm so tired of 'news' that doesn't say anything.
