Title: Safety checks to begin at Fukushima Daiichi plant
Source: NHK
Date: Feb 3, 2012

Japan’s nuclear safety agency will begin inspecting the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant from Monday to see if it can safely remain in a state of cold shutdown.

Officials from the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency plan to check equipment and contingency preparations by examining manuals and interviewing workers during their three-week inspections.

Among the seven types of equipment to be checked is a reactor cooling system that recycles decontaminated water from the facility.

Another is a nitrogen-injection system to prevent hydrogen explosions within the disabled reactors. [...]

The government officials are going to go and personally tour the Fukushima 1 and 2..
They are going to take the press and a small fleet of concerned scientists..and show us the immaculate CONTAINMENT in all reactors…
    Right?…wrong…
The Japanese Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency..are going to try and snowball the Japanese public…with lies.
They too… are guilty of Crimes Against Humanity..and I hope they rot in hell for it…

Ask TEPCO to prove “cold shutdown”…prove the radiation levels are safe …prove it ..
    PROVE it..
Put the burden of proof on TEPCO.

Let’s see… inside reactor 1…2 ..etc…who did the repairs?..what was the timetable?…All 4 reactors are repaired and in cold shutdown in less than a year…NA.

We must realize this truth when we talk in English, they are talk this matter with Japanese language..

Not only fuel disappeared, but there is no more nuclear reactors, it is now a alive nuclear volcano, the dirty bombs explosive daily , continuously in Fukushima, which will last few tens of thousands ,should be till end of this earth.

But for Japanese people, the words of nuclear reactors, cold shot down, or meltdown, when the talk in Japanese language ,it just give another totally different image on the minds of Japanese.

Remember they call “surrender” as “sift of position”.

It prevent people access the truth and facts, and reaction on the right time and right way.

The good sign is that MSM, such as NHK is talking about the negative side of the story, even almost 1 year later now.

  • One defition; it does not seem to ‘fit’… How did they manage to cram FUKU into this definition?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shutdown_(nuclear_reactor)

    Maybe I am looking in the wrong place? Let me try NRC website..NRC website says;
“The term used to define a reactor coolant system at atmospheric pressure and at a temperature below 200 degrees Fahrenheit following a reactor cooldown.”

Since there is NO REACTOR CORE, how can it be shut down in a coolant system that no longer exists, because the fuel LEFT THE BUILDING?

Arnie Gunderson says; “But I don’t know why they choose to say cold shutdown because that’s an affront to those in the industry who really know what the term means,” he said. “That nuclear core is still in a configuration where the center is extraordinarily hot.”
    http://www.businessweek.com/news/2011-12-19/fukushima-dismantling-to-start-as-cold-shutdown-announced.html

What he did NOT say, is that these ‘experts’ do not even KNOW where these MULTIPLE molten, out of control, radiation spewing 65 ton blobs of corium are… They might be 10 or 1,000 feet underground and going down further, with unpredictable outcomes.

Also, what is the temperature of the spent fuel pools, measured at the center of the molten fuel blobs at the bottom of them? Are they emitting radiation, and if so, how much?

The very nature of these molten corium blobs which are ALL spewing radiation is counter to the claim of ‘cold shutdown’.

I don’t care for the fox guarding the henhouse, and a lot of eggs and chickens seem to be disappearing these days.. The fox keeps saying; everything is fine…

Spent fuel pellets are waste in one person’s eyes and gold in others.

Japanese mob provides workers for Fk-1, may have stolen several tons of spent fuel rods by now.

Perhaps a meltdown test beds have already been established. Iodine 131 found in Japanese sewage plant sludge may be originating from melt down experiments.

Melt down device? Pellets. Four bags of cement. A couple buckets of salvaged vermiculite insulation. Use a basket ball inside plastic tote box as a mold.

Pour the ‘refractory cement’ in around the basketball. Burn the ball out, then dump reactor pellets in. Fasten an oxyacetylene torch aimed at the pile of pellets.

Pellets form the spherical ‘geometry’ as they melt, start as a sub-critical mass and goes spontaneous criticality with the added heat; wouldn’t blow up, but melts rock under foot.

Noisy as it starts it’s journey through the moist top layers of soil. Smokes rats out of their burrows, too.

    Report Comment

    • Not to mention that the scattered fuel pellets that are spread out over a two mile area from the plant; these are prime targets for terrorists who may want to build a dirty bomb, (or anyone with a grievance who just wants to hold a city hostage until they pay up) with these cute little ‘mushrooms’ of fuel pellets, ready to just pick up off the ground. I wonder if they have done ANYTHING to collect these?

The fact that they are MOX fuel pellets, just makes them about 1,000,000 times more dangerous than just the standard uranium fuel pellets.

Forget about nations attacking us… Nuclear power plants are one of the soft underbelly areas of any nation, and the authorities and experts know it..

Studies have been done, which are part of the public record. They KNOW terrorists can just walk in and steal nuclear fuel anytime they want to.

Read Alas Babylon by Pat Frank… The uneducated criminals steal and wear hot (really hot) jewelry from a bombed city. They suffered deadly burns.

Pellets, one has to accumulate spent fuel in one spot to start getting a lot of emissions. Dust coming of spent fuel is a big contamination risk, but individual pellets irradiating enough energy probably wouldn’t happen.

Lunchboxes? I think the mob is powerful enough to make truckloads of things they want to steal and sell, would be allowed to drive right out the front gate.

Obvious the Japanese government have relinquished control of this situation, and the local populations see there is no recourse to win justice from the nuclear industry or government.

We had a problem with workers stealing and eating Americium sources. There was a rumor that they worked like Viagra (before Viagra was on the market) Hundreds of sources were eaten before we found out. Some of the workers distrusted us and thought that we were keeping their virility enhancing capacity to ourselves and ate them like M&M’s.

When our building was sold to a school supply distributor, we were told to seal cracks in floor to keep the dropped Americium, Radium, Uranium and other old sources from being swept up. That is all the remediation that the corporation that bought us and moved the operation out of the US did.

I have a feeling today will be a bad day. My nose bled for the third time since March.

39 days to the anniversary of 311. The nuclear proponents know better than most the impending catastrophe that looms at Daiichi. The Sword of Damocles is rapidly unraveling at Reactor 4.

Despite my education I have always had a lingering superstition/phobia of the number 4. Everybody has a quirk, yes? ;-) . Chernobyl was Unit 4. Fukushima has 4 reactors in dire distress and Number 4 is the one Arnie fears will decimate 37 million people in Tokyo if the fuel rods collapse in a building that makes the Leaning Tower of Pisa look like the Astrodome in comparison.

I will be glad when the 4th day of February is over in Japan in just several hours.

MSB typed these pixels of light:

“Thoughts on Reactor 4, I’m wondering how old the fuel is in the SPF and where is the new core they were going to replace it with?”

SP: Unit four is the single Hitachi-built unit (GE built 3 and Toshiba 2).
Unit 4 has fuel dating to January 28, 1978.

33 years of rods that are poised to fall on the ground and kill the population of Japan. Some may be in the Common Spent Fuel Pond, and a few in the dry cask area. A nuclear engineer like Arnie could tell us how often this unit has refueled over 33 years and at what time intervals. I have read it is 12 to 18 month cycles that leads to the “expended” fuel which remains highly dangerous for millennia to humans, but no longer deemed viable for steam production.

We have heard numerous accounts on the state of the reactor fuel assemblies on 311. Was the fuel out for maintenance or was it in the torus ready to start when the earthquake cracked the building? In any case the building is a massive thermonuclear dirty bomb waiting to drop burning to the ground.

When that happens everyone outside Japan needs to seal their houses for several weeks and try to survive the global fallout.

In Japan things will be exponentially worse for much longer.

      Got your water yet?
