Title: Tritium rises in groundwater in Fukushima Daiichi
Source: NHK World
Date: Sept. 13, 2013

“Engineers at Japan’s crippled nuclear plant have made a worrying discovery”

The operator of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant says that it found sharply rising tritium levels at a monitoring well near a wastewater storage tank.Tokyo Electric Power Company says the level of radioactive tritium at one of the wells rose to 130,000 becquerels per liter on Thursday. That’s more than twice the government-set level for its release into the sea. […]

The tritium level in the well was 64,000 becquerels per liter on Tuesday and rose to 97,000 becquerels on Wednesday. The well is located 20 meters north of the leaking tank. […]

Reuters: “4,200 becquerels/liter at the same location on Sunday”

Well, at least they are finally worried about it. How long before this is the DAILY headline out of Fukushima?

    • hbjon hbjon

The important thing to realize is that is doesn't matter where they poke a hole in the ground. Whatever water is down there within several miles of the wreckage will be off the scales in terms of radioactivity. Imho, the cores have not traveled horizontally much, and the China Syndrome should be almost directly underneath the complex.

I fear something is happening underground.

☢ Japan Needs Worldwide Help NOW! ☢

    http://tinyurl.com/FixFuku

We need a worldwide consortium made up of experts in the field to start brainstorming solutions to what is happening in Fukushima and what can be done to FIX it. We need them NOW. Each country will also need to commit funds to this effort, since it is and will continue to affect the entire planet. The consequences could be the extinction of all life on earth. It is past time to do this. Japan is calling for help and they can not handle it alone.

    • We Not They Finally

SusanS, you keep posting this and probably with the best intentions in the world. But no, Japan is NOT calling for help. They're calling for the best athletes in the world to come there and get poisoned, while they sweep their own dying children under the rug. And who gets petitioned? The international bodies are all corrupt.

If you want to call for something (and I'm all for that), call for international arrests and public trials at The Haag. Call for "MASS MURDERER" being plastered across the chests of these people.

"Help" then? They don't deserve to LIVE! And unless and until they are knocked OUT of the way, there will apparently be no help for ANYONE over there.

You are turning naivete into a personal luxury that by now we cannot afford to have. Sorry, SusanS.

        This is called site/comment/thought/post pushing..

SusanS – Thank you very much for your selfless effort in trying to bring attention to Fukushima.

Don't give up and don't listen to the naysayers.

You never know who a petition might reach or where it might plant a seed.

The Japanese people don't deserve to live, huh? It's because of crazy, hateful rantings like this that I stopped contributing to this site.

        You should be banned. Seriously.

Robin, I think she was referring to the bad guys and not the Japanese people.

The Japanese people are no different from any other people/nationality/race in the world that is controlled by a military/police state.

Pretty sure all countries are run the exact same way though or by civil military/police law.

          Quote from WNTF above

"And unless and until they are knocked OUT of the way, there will apparently be no help for ANYONE over there."

You see. She is trying to help the Japanese people. She is just trying to get rid of the nuclear advocates and owners of the nuclear power plants.

      Here's another international petition.

      https://fs220.xbit.jp/n362/form2/

nirs.org is one of the oldest nuke fighting groups in the business.

WNTF prefers to yell "Hydrovolcanic Explosion" while "educating" and implying there's no point to doing anything. Pay no attention.

Does anyone think the CDC medical stockpiling in the Pacific Rim covered by Potrblog could be related to Fukushima potentially exploding?

Potrblog suggests Fukushima or a pandemic.

  • Yes. And/or major earthquake/tsunami/volcano.

  • Dr. Anne Lee Tomlinson Maziar anne

This fault is the reason it is being hypothesized that some of the corium is traveling west towards the magma of Japan's volcanoes.

    The Geology of Fukushima
    A suspicious fault

In several of these cross-sections, an ancient fault, predating the later Miocene, is clearly visible under the nuclear site. Whereas the geological survey conducted prior to the construction of the plant does not reveal this fault (drilling did not go beyond a depth of 200 meters at the time), it is clear from the documents dated 2009 and 2010 that Tepco and the NSC have known about it for several years. The following cross-section shows this fault with even greater depth (- 1300 m):

    Fukushima Daiichi fault

obama should do something already. send in all the branches of govt that were formed to keep us safe. find and recover the missing cores. remove all those containers of waste. just do it already!

  • rockyourworld

what am i saying? all those branches are shell operations. sorry i got carried away! it's nice to dream though!

  • I believe the 'marsh' is in progress. This will allow alot of bulldozed fuel rods to sink, to probably the same depth, like a chromatograph, where they'll possibly get critical mass again.
(At least they're not thinking of sinking Japan if they're stockpiling on low ground around the Pacific)

  • Sol Man

I had described my thoughts on this shortly after 3-11-11: the waster gets contaminated, vaporized, and then condensed, again and again, repeatedly as it rises, only to go through the process again until it is super condensed only to escape little by little, forever.
