Nuclear Engineers: “Appalling” and “disturbing” findings at Tennessee nuke plant (VIDEO)

CBS Investigative Report on the Safety of the New Reactor at the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant in Spring City, WDEF, July 19, 2011

CBS News has obtained a copy of this NRC “Post Fukushima” Watts Bar report dated May 2011. We had two nuclear engineers look at the report. One gave Watts Bar a “D-” and called it “appalling.” The other cited what he called more than 40 “disturbing findings” during a 40-hour inspection, including:

– a lack of emergency responder training
– faulty control panels
– malfunctioning communications equipment
– and issues with portable backup diesel generators
