Many of us had assumed this after the blast about a month ago seeing all the rods being blown to Kingdom Come !
Four reactors dry along with many pools empty of water to cool ! The webmaster carried stories before this site was here @ floridaoilspilllaw.com and there the stories and comments from observers were being told !

In 1972 Dr Abram Petkau discovered that low levels of radiation, over a longer period of time, were more damaging than higher doses over a short period of time.

Once you ingest or inhale even very low levels of radioactive particles the Petkau Effect immediately starts potentially lethal tissue ionization.

The phenomenon of the Petkau Effect basically means that you are ionizing or irradiating yourself continuously from the inside out. This insidious burning at your molecular level will impair your body long before there is a diagnosable disease.

As the jet stream continues around the world some radioactive particles will fall with rain, snow or as dust particles, before it continues it’s deadly circle. The number of radioactive particles may diminish but the STRENGTH of each particle does not diminish.

During those 10 days that Chernobyl was burning, radioactive particles were sent around the world, those who inhaled or ingested the particles received continuous, low levels of internal radiation exposure.

The consequences of Chernobyl reported from 170,000 sources and 30,000 publications, the Russian death rates analysis covers a dozen contaminated area, with 7 million people in each area.

The Chernobyl death estimates (from burning just 10 days) from April 1986 through 2004 estimate the mortality rates at 985,000, or a hundred times more than the WHO/IAEA calculations.

I was in Germany during Chernobyl, so what I did then, is what I’m doing now.

  The deadly effects of Chernobyl were produced by a week and a half of burning. What the Northern Hemisphere is presently facing may and most probably will last for decades and intensify exponentially (due to erratic hydrogen explosions) if the melting fuel hits ground water.
  
  In the light of decade long low level exposures, I believe the fundamental design of our homes need to change along with our lifestyle. What is now under discussion is the concept of the house within a house, much like a double hull of a submarine. The outer shell will deflect fallout in the form of dust, rain and snow. With guttering and drain systems to direct the rain and radiation away from the dwelling into underground sumps. The external house will be equipped with particulate and carbon filters that will allow the passive ventilation of the inner house. The inner house will be able to be hermetically sealed, and positive pressured to prevent radioactive dust incursion. Entrance into the inner house will have three progressively cleaner decontamination zones, where garments and foot wear are shed and cleaned. The inner house will be ventilated much like a clean room is managed today with hepa filters and electrostatic cleaning plates.

We have talked about what people should not eat and so on.

What about our pets, like example a 5 pound little girl Chihuahua who is the sweetest cutie?

Is there anything that we can do for our pets, to give them a chance to get through this?

Bluntly put:
Keep them inside, the fallout will fall on them. DUH!
If you pet or handle them you are picking up the fallout onto yourself, ie hands, then can be delivered to your mouth ie hand to mouth.
They will track into your home, hair will fall throughout your house as always but with Isotopes now !
Cleaning with vacuum will only spread throughout your home via air/Isotopes pushed through devise !
One would consider a bath many times/ never as yourself allow to get wet by precipitation ie rain !

  Being way smaller than a normal dog size, she stays inside and has a box to use when she has to go. She is not a puppy she is 6 years old, so she is fully grown.
  
  She just goes outside with us when we go to the pet store to pick out a toy or to the vets. We have had her in restaurants were no one knows she is there.
  We have stopped that and have only kept her inside.
  If anything, we bring in the these dangerous things into the house, to her.

For the pets, I was thinking of wiping them down with a wet paper towel each time they come in.

Also, increase the antioxidants in the diet, and feed a homeprepared diet if possible.

  Wiping down will not remove them, may only bury them deeper, then you have a wet/damp towel that will dry and emit particles.

U.S. officials are alarmed at how the Japanese are handling the escalating nuclear reactor crisis and fear that if they do not get control of the plants within the next 24 to 48 hours they could have a situation that will be “deadly for decades.”

President Obama has been briefed by nuclear experts.

The Japanese have evacuated most of the reactor personnel from the Fukushima nuclear complex and are rotating teams of 50 workers through the facility in an attempt to cool it down.

“We are all-out urging the Japanese to get more people back in there to do emergency operation there, that the next 24 to 48 hours are critical,” the official said. “Urgent efforts are needed on the part of the Japanese to restore emergency operations to cool” down the reactors’ rods before they trigger a meltdown.

“They need to stop pulling out people—and step up with getting them back in the reactor to cool it. There is a recognition this is a suicide mission,” the official said.

The official said the United States is in very deep consultations with Japanese about the way forward and that the only thing that has been favorable is the wind pattern that is blowing the contaminated material out to sea instead south towards Tokyo and other populated areas, but that can’t be counted upon.

The U.S. official says experts believe there is a rupture in two, maybe three of the six reactors at the Fukushima power plant, but as worrisome is the fact that spent fuel rods are now exposed to the air, which means that substances like cesium, which have a long half-life, could become airborne.

“That could be deadly for decades,” the official said.

There is a growing concern around the world that a nuclear catastrophic disaster is in the works.

“There is talk of an apocalypse and I think the word is particularly well chosen,” European Union’s energy commissioner Günther Oettinger said today, according to various reports. “Practically everything is out of control. I cannot exclude the worst in the hours and days to come.”

The United States has instituted a 50-mile evacuation zone for U.S. forces and American citizens from the Fukushima power plant, four times the size of Japan’s 12-mile evacuation zone. Only exceptions that are made are for relief missions.

“Recently the NRC made a recommendation that based on the available information that we have, that for a comparable situation in the United States, we would recommend an evacuation to a much larger radius than has currently been provided in Japan,” Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Greg Jaczko said at a hearing of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee.

Jaczko said of the four plants that are endangered at the Fukushima site, there has been a hydrogen explosion at one unit and secondary containment has been destroyed.

“We believe radiation levels are extremely high, which could possibly impact ability to take corrective measures,” he said.

U.S. analysis show that some of the radiation from the Fukushima nuclear power plant has drifted northward and out to sea, officials say, but the country is hardly clear of danger.

I did a little research for KI on dogs, did not find anyvets that thought it was good idea.
My dog has been sick. She is only two. She likes to eat crap outside like grass, twigs and other growth. I have to walk her on a leash, with over 2 acres to run.
No airflow maps, no local testing, no news coverage, is really pissing me off.
I have taken some KI to try it. The dose to really block the thyroid is 10 times what I did. I think it made my face itchy like there was cat furr all over my face.
This really sucks, bigtime.

What amazes me is there is no information to to public about anything, no places that has been assigned to go to, if needed.
No pharmacies has Potassium Iodide and they haven’t for a very long time, they should have gotten shipments in.

MOX alone in reactor # 3 is 2,000,000 times worse than Chernobyl. Every reactor to go up will cause earthquakes and take down another reactor. Only 55 in Japan.
No nuclear reactor can exist without HUGE taxpayer subsidies and the government to be responsible for the storage of the waste. Excelon. Axelrod’s former employer, receives huge taxpayer subsidies to house their own nuclear waste. Mo wonder we are having a budget crisis.
