CMAJ: Public health fallout from Japanese quake, Canadian Medical Association Journal, Dec. 21, 2011:

Ira Hefland, MD, Expert on nuclear power nuclear waste and radiation exposure; Member of the board of directors for Physicians for Social Responsibility

  • “We still don’t know exactly what radiation doses people were exposed to (in the immediate aftermath of the disaster)”
  • “Or what ongoing doses people are being exposed to”
  • “Most of the information we’re getting at this point is a series of contradictory statements”
  • “Gov’t assures the people that everything’s okay”
  • “Private citizens doing their own radiation monitoring come up with higher readings than the government says they should be finding”
  • Japanese gov’t is essentially contending that the higher dose is “not dangerous”
  • “However, since the accident, it’s become clear the Japanese government was lying through its teeth, doing everything it possible [sic] could to minimize public concern, even when that meant denying the public information needed to make informed decisions, and probably still is”
  • “It’s now clear they knew within a day or so there had been a meltdown at the plant, yet they didn’t disclose that for weeks, and only with great prodding from the outside”
  • “And at the same moment he was assuring people there was no public health disaster, the Prime Minister now concedes that he thought Tokyo would have to be evacuated but was doing nothing to bring that about”

    GOOD !
    HAMMER THIS HOME !
The Medical Association for Prevention of Nuclear War,
    Physicians for Social Responsibility,
    Japan Public Health Association;
not what I would call “lightweight’ organisations, representatives of which are speaking in a clearly condemnatory way about the response to Fukushima !

I hope some MSM pick this up, despite the CMAJs’ usual disclaimer about article contents.

    This is indeed good, but…

I feel like this thing is all happening in slow motion, with the pro-nuke forces saying their predictable things, the anti-nuke forces (myself included) saying their predictable things, and the msm remaining oh-so-silent throughout.

Something’s got to change the balance.

In that vein, are there any anti-nuke candidates running for office anywhere on the planet? I haven’t heard of any, but I’m often out of the loop.

I’m thinking people (and MSM) might be more inclined to listen to the medical community than, oh, others, no names mentioned, but then, the med community has spoken before. This adds some weight, and if it gets coverage may open some eyes or at least lead to questions.

I have an opposite sense, that things are accelerating. The change may come when a tipping point is reached, all in a rush, in a cascade effect. Who knows…

(Don’t know about anti-nuke pols, maybe in India.)

We have all been conditioned over time to believe, consciously or un-, in the double standard when it comes to the law – for the masses, the people, the law is becoming ever more draconian and strictly enforced … while the fat cats at the top are above the law. We are so used to it that we just shrug and accept this corrupt status quo.

Well, here we have so many smoking guns (4 at least) that clearly indicate that HUGE crimes against humanity have been committed. But just as some banks, investment firms, etc. are now deemed ‘too big to fail’ and are bailed out with ‘corporate welfare’ at public expense, so too are the head honchos in big business/big government ‘too big to prosecute.’

People need to have this pointed out to them – this kind of reckless irresponsibility, lying, and endangerment of the public – these should be CAPITAL CRIMES – and surely are. But where are all the voices who should be raising a big hue and cry about these mass crimes, certainly as big as the killing of the Jews in concentration camps (the 6 million figure is probably inflated, but also will probably be SURPASSED by the Fukushima deaths due to cancer, heart failure, birth defects, etc.)

There absolutely should be criminal charges brought and legal action.

Bleep, when things reach a certain stage I think people have no choice but to open their eyes.

There’s so much happening, nuke, economy, enviro etc. that unless the media goes allout “1984″ on us it can’t be hidden.

That there isn’t already mass hue and cry is a sign of how deep and effective the control mechanisms are. But there’s been gross over-reach. It’s a decisive time.

As long as there’s still TV, mock elections, relatively affordable gas and video games, not many will listen to the truth. The corporate psy-op bastards know that. That’s why they are so brazen about killing us all and our rare, beautiful planet.
I don’t know the solution, but I do know it won’t be pleasant.

The International Journal of Health Services has published a paper tracking excess mortality in the US after Mar 17. From the abstract:

“U.S. health officials report weekly deaths by age in 122 cities, about 25 to 35 percent of the national total. Deaths rose 4.46 percent from 2010 to 2011 in the 14 weeks after the arrival of Japanese fallout, compared with a 2.34 percent increase in the prior 14 weeks.”

EX-SKF has a link to the PDF if you’d like to download it. Also, you can read all the nuclear ‘fifty cent party’ trolls that decided to post on that website today. It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.

    Whoops!

    There it is!!

“Private citizens doing their own radiation monitoring come up with higher readings than the government says they should be finding”

We will see more and more good folks getting on the Citizens Radiation Monitoring Network world-wide as they receive their Geiger counters. Many new folks showing up on the permanent thread up there above.

This is OUR only way of really knowing what is going on, or at least having a clue that is better than the spoon fed borage of BS and out-right trash in the propaganda news. No longer should ANYONE call it media or honest reliable information. It is propagandistic lies and dis/mis-information, and nothing more than that. Yellow journalism at it’s ugly best. Please help set the new standard and recognize them, see them as, refer to them as, and write to them as the main stream Propaganda ONLY!

The Citizens Radiation Monitoring Network is Our ONLY real chance to see the waves of radiation mixed in to the jet stream that are contaminating the entire northern hemisphere, and then prepare to deal with this poisonous radioactive fallout in the ways that we can.

All we can do, is all we can do.

    Don’t forget to pray too.

  • A little knowledge about radiation and meltdowns was all needed to know they were lying and we here at enenewa said from the start, this is going to be a tremendous lose of life if they do not tell the truth and remove people from the North !
All future deaths are on the manufacturer’s of this death, company Tepco and Government’s for abandoning the peoples and for Lie’s told to the people to fool and build these death reactors in their homeland and elsewhere !

      Howdy xdrf,

Yes, and it is all here on enenews hopefully documented and backed up three times on hard copy for posterity purposes, so some day the world will know that with all the money and resources the govts/tepco/un/nrc/iaea had, they did nothing to save these poor people in japan. Or, the people of the world.

Hopefully, these records of not so much I told you so info will be here, but more so will be here to PROVE negligence and malfeasance using the lies to COVER-UP the really horrible truths about how dangerous and deadly this horrendous catastrophic extinction level Event(s) really was from the beginning.

New nuke industry report confirms that Unit three SFP was intact after explosion.

Says that explosion destroyed secondary containment, and hot nuke material rained down, but SFP was confirmed to be intact and all fuel accounted for.

Very detailed descriptions of what happened a FUKU, including event logs in appendix

Detailed accounting of exactly the amount of fuel rods in each location.

From: Special Report on the Nuclear Accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station – the Institute of Nuclear Power Operators.

    http://www.oecd-nea.org/nsd/fukushima/documents/INPO2011_11_SpecialReportonFukushimaDaiichi11-005.pdf

    From page 32:

“A large hydrogen explosion occurred in the Unit 3 reactor building at 1101 on March 14. The explosion destroyed the secondary containment and injured 11 workers. The large amount of flying debris from the explosion damaged multiple portable generators and the temporary power supply cables. Damage to the fire engines and hoses from the debris resulted in a loss of seawater injection. Debris on the ground near the unit was extremely radioactive, preventing further use of the main condenser backwash valve pit as a source of water. With the exception of the control room operators, all work stopped and workers evacuated to the Emergency Response Center for accountability.”

    From page 37:

“Subsequent analyses and inspections determined that the spent fuel pool water levels never dropped below the top of fuel in any spent fuel pool and that no significant fuel damage had occurred. Current investigation results indicate that any potential fuel damage may have been caused by debris from the reactor building explosions.”

Nobody on Enenews cares when I find an industry report that proves that the explosion of #3 was from the core and not the spent fuel pool

Admin won’t publish it? What’s going on here? is the site 100% shills now?

Great find, James. I didn’t see this part of the thread earlier. Arnie also did refer to the #3 sfp as though it still existed and held fuel that threatened to cause problems later on in the summer, repeatedly, if I remember correctly?

        Report comment

        • James2

Arnie has been trying to say that the explosion was from the SFP from the beginning.

I don’t know why, because it is obvious it didn’t.

Based on the backlash I’ve gotten here when I’ve tried to explain that, I think he had quite a following on that theory – even if he wasn’t telling the truth.

This report – from nuke industry insiders – is interesting. It says fuel rained down after the explosion, and also says the fuel pool was intact and the fuel in it was not damaged during the explosion. But it never comes right out and says where the raining nuke fuel comes from – but there’s only one place it could come from – the core.

This account isn’t credible because they said that it was a hydrogen explosion, when we know it was a nuclear explosion. Also it says that the secondary containment was damaged, but not the primary containment. For the fuel to have come from the reactor, the primary containment would have had to have been damaged.

So this account is sadly lacking and doesn’t prove that the falling fuel came from the core at all, but only from the SFP.

Other nuclear engineering experts say that the fuel in the reactor had a nuclear explosion. This is what I think happened. This is the only way the core fuel could have fallen into the SFP.

James, you are here giving credence to the industry shills.

Simple arithmetic should have convinced you all that Japan has been lying since day 1. Chernobyl 200 pounds of fuel for 10 days. Fukushima at least 600 and maybe as much as 5 tons of fuel for 9 months. Meanwhile, American ‘leadership’ prances and mewls its way into the Genetic Slag Hall of Fame, and does its best to assert ‘social dominance’ with 9% approval by instituting Martial Law to reach up to 6% approval. I think the masses out there in U.S. la-la land are stupid beyond breedability and believe they hold the world hostage as they are being contaminated. They sure smile out of place nonstop.

Linus Pauling won a Real Nobel Peace Prize for monitoring and proving cancer incidence from prolonged exposure to low level radiation and the U.S. government matched and reproved Pauling’s conclusions clear back in the 1950s and 1960s. These findings are being ignored so Amerians and Japanes get sick and die. This was planned. I used to build this crap in 1975 until I learned they cannot permanently store spent . They still cannot. It requires refreshened demineralized water. If we do not get our best minds in control of this and kick Obummer to the curb for servicing BP and GE in back alleyways, this will get even worse. Already up to 18,000 or more dead in the U.S. from related causes and many times that in Japan. This shit is near permanent.
