“There are still too many bad actors in search of these dangerous materials, and these dangerous materials are still vulnerable in too many places. It would not take much — just a handful or so of these materials — to kill hundreds of thousands of innocent people. And that’s not an exaggeration; that’s the reality that we face.” -Pres. Obama, Mar. 27, 2012

He is using it in this sense to scare the citizens, to further an agenda of of the military industrial complex and to further erode individual liberties in the name of "safety". ALA TSA security theatre.

Hey, I can make fun of the guy because I voted for him. *;-) Not much choice though in 2008…a meth head dog catcher could have beaten the Republicans.
I think None of the Above looks pretty good to me in 2012. I will vote…but not for Mutt or BHO.
Still…the Green Party candidate looks interesting…wow how great would that be to build an American Green Party as strong as the Germans!
Spare me Roseanne Barr though…her 1990 crack-head blowup at the ballpark makes her about as popular as Hanoi Jane among older voters. But Jill Stein…I can go for that!

Good that Obama speaks out this way, it cannot be dismissed.
Another thing:
A nuclear weapon that wasn’t supposed to exist, a single 500 kiloton hydrogen bomb, one of four being tracked, was seen being loaded at the German port of Bemerhaven, Germany. The submarine disappeared while being tracked by every sophisticated device NATO seems to be able to own or borrow. http://www.veteranstoday.com/2012/04/30/raw-reports-nuclear-threat-from-germany/ (aliens got it?)

RT is the former Soviet Union with its agenda unchanged. This is half the truth only… the other half is that they are doing the same thing. The total picture is indeed very bad and tragic. It seems there is nothing that can be done to improve our world situation at this point and that we are all doomed, but it would be nice not to further speed that up don't you think?…
Report Comment
RT at least gives half of the truth. Think of that as a step in the right direction. The MSM in US gives none at all, IMO.

Now if a few guys can fly into a plant so easily, then perhaps the President should reexamine the logic in allowing our nuke plants to keep operating with over-crowded, soon-to-be-full spent fuel pools sitting in the reactor buildings with nothing but a bit of concrete and metal protecting them from an attack that could render our planet uninhabitable.
And yet, he is pushing for more nuke plant development and small modular nukes? What about doing the responsible thing first and cleaning up the mess the nuclear cabal has created, which our poor children and future generations are being forced to inherit, and pay for???
Where is the justice, fairness and sanity in that???
Please, for your children's sakes and all our children's sakes, Mr. President, search your conscience carefully, and put an END to this insanity.
Thank you.

We could shut down all plants right away. And start decommissioning them. Thats what need to start happening, now.

COVER STORY FOR WAR WITH IRAN
Obama does not care about any of our concerns. He is just out whoring for the military industrial complex. Getting the "ducks" lined up for the eventual hostilities in Iran, North Korea and anyone else that needs our guidance.
What a sick joke to be touting the dangers of nuclear materials while at the same time shutting down the EPA from measuring radiation.
I wonder why the EPA has not checked the blueberry preservs coming in from Poland? Do the Europeans monitor their radiation food safety limits. Probably not. They probably set them too high.

Gotham,
"I wonder why the EPA has not checked the blueberry preservs coming in from Poland? Do the Europeans monitor their radiation food safety limits. Probably not. They probably set them too high."
This is how governments have deceived the public about food safety radiation levels worldwide.
They first release an article like this one. I am using the EU as an example here.
Extract from article link below:
“EU boosts food import controls after Japanese nuclear disaster. The European Union is to step up controls on food imports from Japan in the wake of the nuclear accident at Fukushima – but stressed there was no evidence that consumers in the region were at risk from radiation-contaminated food.
The EU ruling insists that all products from these prefectures are tested before leaving Japan and said they will be subject to random testing in the bloc. Japanese authorities will have to provide a declaration confirming products do not contain radioactive elements – called radionuclides – that exceed EU maximum levels. The Commission highlighted radionuclides iodine-131, caesium-134 and caesium-137."
http://www.foodproductiondaily.com/Quality-Safety/EU-boosts-food-import-controls-after-Japanese-nuclear-disaster
This makes you feel warm and cosy inside, because you think your government is looking after you and your family.
Report Comment
This article "EU boosts food import controls after Japanese nuclear disaster" is a clever deception because they then proceed to quietly raise the EU maximum safety levels by 20x for caesium-134 and caesium-137. Governments worldwide have used this same tactic.
http://foodfreedom.wordpress.com/2011/04/04/eu-secretly-ups-cesium-safety-level-in-food-20-fold/
They then tell the public everything is testing below safety levels, nothing to worry about!
Here is another example, Japan this time.
