*I* predict there will be another burp/belch/fart/spontaneous eruption somewhere in the near future!!!!!

Aren't I great considering how much gas I've been sucking????

    • 16Penny 16Penny

Yep, you still have the strength to type and enough wits to spell. Guess it really isn't dangerous there, you're proof.

As far as the activity, I really believed "them" when they reported things were settling down seismically. About as much as I believe it is safe for you and your neighbors.

The game you are playing Rainbeaudais reminds me of the one on the movie grownups. Shoot an arrow in the air and see who is dumb enough to get shot in the foot to win.

Exactly what sign are you waiting for to get the hell out? Which "informed" official's statement will you believe? Are there still children in the neighborhood? Elderly? Other dependents? Pets?

We live in a Fuku'd world where we debate the morality of deciding on the circumcision of our male children at birth but Hell, let the kids play in radioactive playgrounds and in poisonous (air and water) swamps. At least you have the power to deliver yourself from this, unlike the people of Japan.

      • rainbeaudais rainbeaudais

        Wow 16P

You almost sound angry that people choose to live their lives how they think they should, versus how you think they should.

Funny how that works……about people having that right.

        • gr81 gr81

rainbeaudais, I believe you are absolutely correct.

You are also an appreciated source of truth and reality as I see it.

        • 16Penny 16Penny

just concern for life, even yours.

        • 16Penny 16Penny

Rainbeaudais, Your rights end when they infringe on others.

"You almost sound angry that people choose to live their lives how they think they should, versus how you think they should."

I understand how it can be mistaken. This is like a slap in the face to wake you from being in a daze, not intended to injure, just shock. Unfortunately injuries sometimes are caused. We are told from birth what we can and can't do. Whether your authority is your parents, your home owners association, city council, Big Gov't, Big corporations. I will lay off the wrecking ball for a while, I have said my piece and hopefully you understand. Sure I agree you have the right to sit there enjoying your carcinogenic gas feed, and we all have the right to pay for your medical expenses in the future when you become incapable of doing so. I just can't wait for the global health care system to start up in 20 or so years. Then we can get all 3rd worlds to help pay for our misdeeds as well. Enjoy your soup.

16 Penny was stating the obvious, that although you have the right to do with your life as you please, your children, your pets, and the like, don't get that choice, and it is the adult's responsibility to protect them.

I thought you were a real animal rights activist, but that was a cold, hard statement you just made.

As for the 'Stinkhole' Oxy 3A has been shut in due to the rising seismic activity. The Well Casing pressure is steadily rising.
Gas totals have risen sharply to 5,357 Thousand Cubic Feet and no flaring at Oxy 3A.

TB Vent wells 1,2,and TBC 1, and 3 and ORW 12AM, and ORW 3 are all shut in, as well as the Water well, (due to the seismic activity) but the two on the North Side of Hwy. 70 are venting (ORW 1 and 2) for a total of 4,888 Thousand Cubic Feet, (Flaring not shown)

Not hard to see they are hunkering down for another event, and will watch it with their own private cameras they installed on the 29th of January, that we aren't allowed to see.

The Geo's are showing serious thumping underground, especially at 6:07 pm. Gonna be a long night in the bayou.

        • 16Penny 16Penny

Ya Freedom, remember back a few moths when Hecox pointed to the graph showing slower returns to high pressure in the monitored wells and saying something to the effect that "this could indicate that there is less gas underground" or that they had started depleting the formation. Who called that out loudly for being BS. What people need to understand is that when my BS alarm goes off I sound out. They may not like what they hear but either do I. I can't stand lying.

        • GlowingRainSeattle

Cameras…… sounds like someone should be contacting that "hacker anonymous" group

          • FREEDOMROX

Most likely on a Virtual Private Network, (VPN). I have tried everyway I know, but guess I am not good enough to track down a cam site, otherwise.

Yes, you are doing wonderfully Rain, you are doing great.

The gases you are breathing are similar to working at an old Full Service Gas Station.

First, comes the mood changes, where the once nice and helpful attendant that uaes to check the air pressure in your tires, starts to get real pissy because you asked for your oil checked. Then after about six months of breathing these fumes, the attendant tells you to check your own damn oil.

As time goes by, then the really obvious signs come to the fore, like forgetting that some people have stated that this last event was not yet over, and was just getting revved up for round two.

Sure am glad you haven’t gone that far yet.

Last stage is lethargy, shortness of breath, vision changes, an unwillingness to understand reason, brain fog, spontaneous angry outbursts, then the inevitable…

The visit to the doctor, where you are told you have brain/lung/rectal/skin/pancreatic cancer all at once, but the doctor has no idea how that could have happened, unless, “You don't live at a gas station, do you?”

Ahhh, the days of ‘Andy Griffith’, and the Full Service gas stations.

      >insert whistling here<

      • PavewayIII PavewayIII

Wait a sec…. all THIS happened to Goober Pyle? I… I guess I don't remember that part.

Now, Floyd the barber had some issues, but I think that came from drinking blue juice in the glass jar he had for soaking combs. I'm guessing it had a horse tranquilizer base and some kind of harmine analogue judging by how twitchy Floyd seemed.

        • FREEDOMROX

Well, now think about it, Paveway… Goober once claimed he was a smart boy, then started working at the 'Gas Station', then became a complete moron. Gomer Pyle worked at the 'Gas Station' and went so nuts that he enlisted in the Marines, not only as a complete moron, but as a whipping boy for Sargeant Carter, then turns gay in later years.

All of this happened after they worked at the 'Gas Station'. Hmmmmm.

One positive though, it gave 'Gomer' one helluva alto singing voice, or maybe I am mis-interpreting that one…

          Floyd was just comic relief.

        • FREEDOMROX

Actually PW, I was only referring to the times, 60's and 70's, when we actually still had 'Full Service Gas Stations'. They were marketed in the 50's as being needed for the safety of the driving public.

I, to this day, believe they were right.

      • rainbeaudais rainbeaudais

Sure am glad you haven’t gone that far yet."

Well, if I was that far gone, I'd have you to remind me right? How could anyone possibly forget you stating over and over and over that this last event was not over yet? The thing you don't seem to get, is that you don't have exclusive rights to that prediction. EVERYONE knows it's not over. The scientists, the geologist, the experts, APPJ, Texas Brine, me.

Hell, my 92 year old neighbor knows it. But you're wrong about breathing the air here is just like working at a gas station, and if you were ANY where NEAR here, you would know that. But you go ahead and just keep sitting at your computer in Tennessee and telling us dumb cajuns how it REALLY is down here.

  • dosdos dosdos

I predict there will be many more burps/belch/farts in the future, both in the sink hole and by officials who don't have the slightest clue as to what they're doing.

  • bwoodfield bwoodfield

There will be gas releases like the initial "burp" from areas all around the sink hole. There will be a cascade effect where the initial release caused a shift in the strata. This shift will allow trapped gas to move sideways then upward and thus removing pressure on the material that was directly above it. The removal of pressure will cause the ground material to cave in and shift. Its like a slow motion line of dominoes.

  • SwimsWithGators

Think of the 1000's of feet tall dividing line of the salt and the rock as a fault line. The salt being dissolved widens that fault. As that happens more and more oil and gas will find its way to the surface.

And since the bottom of the salt dome reaches west, increasingly the land above it to the west will fall into the void left by the salt dissolution.

    • Thad

Got a few problems with that concept. Takes 3 units of FRESH water to dissolve one unit of salt making 4 units total. Ok the saltdome down to 6,000' cotains roughly 3.4 cuboc miles of salt would need 10 cubic miles of fresh water to dissolve, naking 13+ cubic miles of brine. Where would the water come from- all the water below the sinkhole is brine..and where would the be apace to put 10 cubic miles increase in volume–

      • SwimsWithGators

What we need to consider is that the line water is moving down between the salt and the rock is being actively moved by displacement of the salt and the rock sediments and the oil and gas rising.

Therefore there is quite a mixture going on. And don't forget that the aquifer – now out of containment – and flowing down is creating pressure which increases the further down it flows.

There is a lot going on down below and the salt is the weaker solid which is dissolving. We know it is dissolving, it is just a question of how fast. The answer is predicated on how much water is flowing down the fault line which common sense tells us is increasing in width.

        • Thad

Not really – you are aware that debris and sediment is filling the cavern– and the cavern was fill of brine. Where did the brine go? into the void and sinkhole created by the material going into the cavern…
Brine – saturated salt water is 30% heavier than fresh water. Brine is saturated and does not/can not dissolve salt. So hows does the lighter fresh water "sink" down through the brine to dissolve salt—the close fresh water is in the aquifier 600' above the salt and that 600' is full of brine.
And you still are ignoring it take 3 units of fresh water to dissolve 1 unit salt—

Actually, SWG, I am agree and disagree. The reason thos whole fiasco happened in the first place was because the Salt Flank was actually a 'Switchback' instead of a taper. There is obviously a fracture, but mainly of the shale.

I explain it all in the updated article:

  • irhologram

So…if you think pressure is rising and events continue to intensify, first there was a "burp"…the second event was more like projectile vomit, straight up into the air…So……how do you think the next expulsion will be described? Also, I'm not at all sure next events will be tied just to the sinkhole in Bayou Corn, either. Too much EQ activity at all of the monitors along Route 70, Bella Rose…when coupled with the "water main break"-sized gushing some are still calling "bubbles."

Rainbeau…what those who really care for you on this site are saying is: don't get caught up in heroism or martyrdom for the sake of a piece of property that's guaranteed to be breaking down your DNA even as I tell you I'm sorry. We're all sorry. But speaking for myself and others, the sacrifice of your health, which once compromised never returns….when it is KNOWN it is a given that you are now sacrificing your health…CURRENTLY…never mind the quickening of horrendously worse events to come…….makes us speak to you like a Dutch Uncle. Quit mucking about. There is no glory in deciding not to dodge a bullet..

Maybe it's a case of you can't see the forest for the trees…you can't see the bayou for the sinkhole? It's all going to GO, sweetheart. ALL OF IT. The sinkhole, IMO, is just a place to focus because its visable. Your love will not bring your beautiful home back, just like I can't will my 92 year old Dad to live now that things are at the point they…

  • WindorSolarPlease

Are there any professionals here that has worked on sinkholes. If so, what are your thoughts in the out come of this?

As a non-professional I think there are dangerous gasses and radiation pouring out, I would not trust the drinking water, the ground is unstable as there is increased seismic activity, there is a good chance of a domino effect with an explosion like we have never seen, I can see how this would effect New Madrid fault, and I also can see how the Gulf Disaster along with what they have dumped into these caverns all played into this.

They should have left these salt domes alone, instead they made/making them a dumping site for everything.
I don't see this getting better, but getting worse.

    • WindorSolarPlease

BTW..I think getting out while you are still alive and healthy is a good idea. Not worth taking a chance with your family, you, or pets.

ATTENTION! 100 foot rise in floor of La Sinkhole in less than a month..mentioned in Texas Brine report..up 100ft since Jan 18 measurement. And why didn't Texas Brine know when it increased in rate? They test open wells, but..they had the well closed down..all but two are according to the above comments. So I guess they are only going to check things out if they have to report to DNR, and only report on two wells. Great warning system guys! Also, note Texas Brine will replace the geophones so they and not the USGS will monitor. And if the alarm goes off..people are to call local emergency responders. Wonder if they are trained and have all the hazmat equipment. Say, shouldn't Texas Brine provide the same for the citizens involved?

Does anyone know the origins of the "Navy Map" that shows the new coastlines of the U.S. sometime in the future? Is it, in fact, an official naval planning or projection map? This version of it is interesting because it shows where the submerged NPs would be.
Is The Navy Map actually an official Navy map, or is it "urban legend?"

    • Thad

Urban legend.? Map exist – was a projection of US IF all the polar ice melted. No one has ever furnished proof that the orgin was USN. It is not their area of concern- IF from USGS or NOAA then would be more plausible. And if it occurs it would not be over night and all would probably be dead from global warming— or whatever. You can pick what ever agenda is current by which link you chose
Beside the US Navy does not use maps — they use charts

  • HamburgGeiger

And mankind is not able to learn. Read this. Now they do it on purpose:

Japan drills into frozen methane hydrate ice sheet to melt it. When do they learn from the gulf disaster?

    • many moons

I think for the industries that make a lot of money from drilling mining etc these "disaters" aren't disasters. They are more like problems that may cost the industry money but they will get by that…more like obstacle than disaster. They won't stop till the well runs dry…doesn't matter how many people are sickened or killed.

    • Thad

Take a look at this temp/ pressure chart– the temp or pressure (or both) in situ would have to be maintained until placed ina pressur\ised / refrigrated vessel to hold.
also considering temp for it to exist at atmospheric pressure do you think the man actualy was holding in his bare hands or a bit of photoshop–

  • jec jec

Can you say stupid? All someone has to do is look at the megalith society, say in Peru, which was desperately trying to survive climate change by creating elaborate canals and irrigation systems to feed their people. No idea how well it worked, no sign of where they went, but the population numbers had to be high. Look to history and climate issues, its the main driver of our civilizations. We,however, have added nuclear…
