A burp occurred in the sinkhole this morning. Hydrocarbon and debris are on the surface.

"YELLOWKNIFE – Federal officials are scrambling to clean up a crumbling, abandoned northern gold mine that is in imminent danger of releasing massive amounts of arsenic, asbestos and other toxins.
"It's pretty scary stuff," said Mark Palmer, senior adviser on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development's Giant Mine Project, which describes a proposed cleanup of collapsing, poison-filled buildings and caverns on the shore of Great Slave Lake as an emergency response.
"We are worried they are going to fall down and if that happens there will be a release."
The Giant Mine just outside Yellowknife was an economic mainstay for 50 years. But its gold was locked within crystals of arsenopyrite, and after the mine finally closed in 2004, about 237,000 tonnes of highly toxic, water-soluble arsenic trioxide remained on the site."

No wonder Thad is always defending BP and the oil companies along with downplaying the dangers of the sinkhole in bayou corne. Looks like he has a track record of this kind of activity. Look at this multi page accesment of the BP oil spill. Especially at the bottom of the page in the picture and discussion about the hole in the helipad.

If you are so weak minded as to follow BKLim go for it. Really study the man's claims. BKL claimed the helipad was struck with a 'blue beam weapon'(?) so the rig crew could not get off the rig-
I said NO posted pic of a different angle showing what was under the helipad–the living quarters, intact no matching hole to helipad. IF a blue weapon had struck the helipad and the living quarters/offices under the helipad it would have killed the off duty crew-half of the men aboard–we know that did not happen– BKL also claimed that the blue beam weapon sunk the DWH– strange it the other side sinking and none of the fire boats saw the blue beam–

How many lawsuits and lawyers need to be added before the broken legal system allows something to happen? I have absolutely no faith in the Louisiana courts, but I do understand the financial motivation of – what? Twenty, maybe thirty lawyers so far?
Jindal should be trying to take credit for the sinkhole. It's a 'job creator' – he can probably mooch more federal handouts.
Hey Gov: don't forget Gulf South's potential 'job creator' on the north edge of the dome. Gulf South #1 wasn't mined *too* close to the edge (according to some ancient USGS map). It will only be a matter of time. Note to lawyers: I think they transferred it back to DOW. That's got to be worth a new yacht or two.

Pardon my ignorance but what exactly is going with this sinkhole? The only site where it is being mentioned is here. I am assuming that there is some environmental disaster occurring which is promptly being covered up by the lame stream media.

If there is one thing positive about this sinkhole it is the fact that it happened where it did because there are those sturdy cypress swamp trees there. 15 acres worth of cypress trees are now plugging the hole down at the bottleneck of the sinkhole. If the neck is widening from erosion and the plug falls in, there will be a huge land subseidence event as well. On the other hand there are the burps that concern me, their is the possibility that a massive volcanic eruption of cypress trees and oil and everything else in that hellhole could shoot out all over the place if enough pressure gets built up by the methane coming up from inside the sinkhole trapped under the plug. Mabey a natural excess pressure release type plug is in place with the spacing between the trees on the bottom and burps are the only thing to come. No one can predict the next set of events other than the fact that erosion has definately set in on the salt dome and the caverns in the way of this process. The sinkhole goes into the saltdome and fresh water is swapping place with oil and burpage which erodes more until the next burp and on and on until all caverns in that area are compromised. At some point the dome will seal itself, however if the caverns are too close to eachother, a dominoe effect could happen like already has now with 2 caverns. Wish they would do test samples of the most recent burp material for radioactive isotopes. I do not trust the documented contents of all those caverns.
