FOX 25: Witnesses reported hearing two explosions on the north side of Boylston Street near the photographer bridge just before 3 p.m. Fox 25′s Maria Stephanos reported that the explosion appeared to come from the inside of a building, rather than on the street. Video from SkyFox showed blood on the ground near the finish line. A Fox 25 photographer at the scene reported seeing a number of victims with lost limbs.
WCVB: Witnesses said several victims lost limbs, the race was stopped and the area is being evacuated. The first explosion happened across from the Lenox Hotel and the second blast was about 15 seconds later, witnesses said. [...] NewsCenter 5′s Sean Kelly said the impact of the explosions could be felt blocks away.
Courthouse News Service: A spectator who identified himself as John Ross gave the Herald gruesome details. “Somebody’s leg flew by my head,” Ross told the Herald. “I gave my belt to stop the blood.” Video of the scene shows smoke-filled streets, people fleeing and fire coming from the hotel.
