Cesium-137 In Vermont Milk, Jeff McMahon (Forbes blog) , Apr. 8 2011:

… Milk Contamination At EPA Maximum…

Milk samples from Phoenix and Los Angeles contained iodine-131 at levels roughly equal to the maximum contaminant level permitted by EPA, the data shows. The Phoenix sample contained 3.2 picoCuries per liter of iodine-131. The Los Angeles sample contained 2.9. The EPA maximum contaminant level is 3.0, but this is a conservative standard designed to minimize exposure over a lifetime, so EPA does not consider these levels to pose a health threat. …

That’s WAY too high for children! Why don’t reporters give infant equivalent dose information?

Don’t think, FDA nor CDC could give out that type of inf. One would need to see a physician to acquire that knowledge if he /she would be willing to give it to you !

One can use regular iodine 2% by painting on the abdomen or forearm each day the size of a dime, “Do not take internally.” The skin will absorb, and the thyroids will take in any needed iodine, if you have a good diet the thyroid will be full and not require any. Morton’s Iodized Salt has Iodine in it as well, check container, some bloggs are suggesting that as of late they have stopped putting it in their salt ! Do the dime each day to keep the thyroid full, Iodine 133 when present will go to the thyroid if it is lacking in iodine, the thyroid does not differ between good iodine and bad such as Iodine 133.

Iodized Salt, Will say on Label, Iodine-131 is taken up into the thyroid only if there is already a deficiency of iodine in the thyroid. And if you haven’t been getting enough dietary iodine in your diet, there will be an iodine deficiency in your thyroid. The Japanese people eat seaweed that has iodine. This may work in there favor.

I think the water from crack was only part of the contamination.
Much seawater put on the reactors and spent fuel pools were caked in plutonium dust and pieces (as photos showed) that were flushed down to the sea as the cooled the areas overflowed and down to the sea !

I am afraid that the explosions hurled much of the spent fuel rods into the surrounding waters of the plants, so this will continue to increase in levels “higher and higher for many many years” ! There is NO sort of containment and has not been since the explosions !

  • Of course they don’t. They don’t want to lose money, lives are less important to them. Avoid all possibly contaminated products, get a home tester if you can afford one. If not then use products from a safe part of the world, or frozen, or even canned products. And use reverse osmosis treated water, or distilled.

Since milk has this, how many other types of foods have these levels? We can only imagine.

Milk is used in so many things baking, mashed potato’s, and so on.

Can’t they filter milk and water to get these contaminates out before it gets to the public?
Can see the new packaging “Radiation Free”.

      How you doing WindorSolarPlease

Leafy vegetation will be a larger target to land on, lettuce. cabbage and so on, it’s been said to take off as much as loose leaf as possible them wash repeatedly and without saying having your water is isotope free !
A fruit or vegetable that is pealed may be fairly free of, but wash afterward as well as your hands.

        Hi xdrfox

So far ok thank you. Hope all is ok by you and everyone.

Taking your advice and staying out of the little rain that we are having today.

In Arizona where we live, we hardly get rain. Not sure why we have higher levels in milk here when we have low rain fall?

I’m not sure anyone would let us know the tap water is at high levels? This is where I heard about our milk.

Guys, look at Little Rock, the first city listed in the chart above – 8.9….. That’s nearly TRIPLE what phoenix is showing.

      Hi Slick Vick,

How is Little Rock Milk? If the levels are low, then I am really confused.

I’m not sure what you mean by that – the legal limit for contamination in milk is 3.0 and in the chart just below this story, you can see that Little Rock reads 8.9 for Iodine.. The story says that Phoenix exceeds the regulations with 3.2.. What I’m saying is that Little Rock is nearly 3 times higher at 8.9, so I wonder why that’s not mentioned..

Sorry I didn’t have reading glasses on..I thought you meant 89 on the Beta Gross Count Rate (CPM)

You are right.. WOW that is a high reading on the milk.

If the upper winds stall or concentration of isotopes, (pockets) are more condensed in some areas of the sky,(due to activity. what type of reactors/spent fuel rods at time of injecting into the air currents)(temperatures, humidity, precipitation, days heat or cool nights, winds) more may fall in different areas.

I think we are all going to find out that radiation and other chemicals just might be part of our lives through air, food, water.
Either our body’s might get use to it, or we might have a shorter life span.

Just as the gulf, I don’t see this getting better any time soon. Like the gulf, I think things will continually wash up on the beaches and probably be contaminated.

We had more rain than I thought.
    That’s what I get for staying inside, I missed it..oh darn..lol..
It’s cold, there’s is rain and there is even snow.
    This is just weird weather.
I’m glad I was warm inside drinking my hot tea with honey.

Wonder if this fallout had anything to do with this weather?
