    Still a nameless substance….hmmm

Wonder what the hold up is in testing and discovering what this substance is.

    • WindorSolarPlease

It would be very strange if they didn't officially test that Radioactive Black Fallout Substance.

I would say it's been tested and it's not for the public to know.

I can tell you what it's not….it's….NOT SAFE..

      many moons,

You are in Brazil, right? Are you familiar with iehudim on youtube from Encantado?

He has found very similar highly radioactive black substance in Brazil. This highly radioactive black dust may have travelled to Brazil already?!

Hi Nonukes, I'm not in Brasil now, but that is an interesting video. I remeber reading that the fuel rods they pull out of one of the reactors at Fukushima had bacteria growing on them…I wonder if a new life form has been created from this worldwide nuclear experiment that we are all participating in.

    • Usefulbreather

I remember this being reported on months ago. If I recall, and I don't have the link, the article said it was an ancient form of Cyanobacteria that consumes radiation and then re-releases it in the form of highly radioactive spores. It was this bacterium that supposedly converted the early radioactivity on the Earth's surface into the sub-surface Uranium we have today. Lying dormant since that time, it has a new food source and is hence, multiplying. Unfortunately it merely consumes but does not eliminate the material from the environment. Not being an expert, I am only recalling what I have read about this in the past.

      • omniversling

REpost so apols to those who've read it before:

        FukUp black dust

Is it possible that these bacteria are same or related to the earliest cyanobacterial lifeforms on earth that sequestered radioactivity into the ores that are now mined to concentrate into fission products. Perhaps we are seeing a simple process of 're-emergence'. Like any opportunistic species, 'plenty' (as in 'lots of') may be stimulating a population explosion, similar to algal bloom in a waterway with excess nutrient in it. Now that there is a massively increased 'food source', so there is a 'bloom' of the cyanobacteria that were only 'subsisting' all these millions of years.

Are we watching the 'repeat re-engineering' of the planet? After taking billions of years to sequester radiation and produce oxygen, thereby creating our atmosphere which protects us from space radiation, we have reintroduced acutely toxic radionuclides within our atmospheric defensive membrane? Human intelligence test = epic fail.

        Continued below/

        • omniversling

This could be more likely than the fallout from incineration, or fallout flake from the steaming coriums of Units 1 and 2. Unless that is being very rapidly transformed into cyanobacterium 'nutrient'.

Radioactive black dust was also observed and measured at the British nuclear tests in Australia in the 1950s. Is it possible that this is a result of the MOX fuel in U3, which I understand is similar in composition to some early weapons test material?

I've also read that the black substance is the oxide ashes formed when they make a cheap plutonium bomb that uses lots of uranium in proportion to Plutonium. You can see a reference to it here as the black substance rained down on australia during the Maralinga tests. Go to about 13 minutes into the video and listen for about 1 1/2 minutes. You will be shocked. The out of control reactors in Fukushima (U3 at least) are burning cores made up of weapons mixes.

@omniversling: I just viewed, and am outraged, livid, consumed with anger and sorrow.

Of note also is one generation removed revelation of genetic changes (and inability to reproduce) — also widow of veteran who died of cancer mentions history of spinal bifida in her grandchildren – i.e. "damage across generations"

Am thinking too of the US's recent smashing of Iraq and Fallujah babies born with such terrible deformities that few can survive if born alive.

Am thinking too of current incomplete and misinformation leading to a 2nd 'false cause' war, this time against Iran, (and likelihood of depleted uranium weapons loosed once again on the people.)

Am thinking too of the whole history of "industrial civilization's march across continents" – of what we have done, to whom, and the powers continue with same beyond condescending, beyond patronizing, emotionally remote elitist intentions to force the rest of the world and all "lesser citizens" into the slots they'd create for us.

(Not a statement that Iran's elite aren't just as capable – point is gross game of chess among global powers with earth as board and life as "pieces".)

Film's insights to me are universal, applicable to Japan's "mover/shaker" class re Fukushima, and nuclear 'policy'.

            • Maggie123

distressing too are viewer comments – totally sidetracked like scrapping children on threat of "socialism"!!

              • Maggie123

OT but: To clarify my meaning: What most people mean to be against is "totalitarianism", which can easily develop in any government, if democratic participation is lost. "Socialism" and even "communism" (as described by theorists) both *hugely* promote grass-roots, democratic, citizen participation. Western Cold War propaganda was very thorough making a false equivalent. I see this mislabeling all over internet!

I'll see you some black substance and raise you some pink. The fog of San Francisco is unusually pink over the past two weeks. Now people who have never seen pink clouds are starting to mention it in conversation about the weather. Two unmarked helicopters were back in the area today.

    • Hi NoNukes

I have seen pinkish-yellow-tinged clouds here in Arizona as well.

The colors in the sky are disturbing these days…

      • many moons

I've heard of uranium glass, it is either yellow or pink…here is something from wiki..
        Pre-discovery use

The use of uranium in its natural oxide form dates back to at least the year 79 CE, when it was used to add a yellow color to ceramic glazes.[9] Yellow glass with 1% uranium oxide was found in a Roman villa on Cape Posillipo in the Bay of Naples, Italy by R. T. Gunther of the University of Oxford in 1912.[17] Starting in the late Middle Ages, pitchblende was extracted from the Habsburg silver mines in Joachimsthal, Bohemia (now Jáchymov in the Czech Republic) and was used as a coloring agent in the local glassmaking industry.[18] In the early 19th century, the world's only known sources of uranium ore were these mines.

      • Radio VicFromOregon

There have also been horrendous forest fires all summer with the nationwide draught and the smoke will produce these colors on the horizon at sunset for weeks as the smoke particles rise and thin out. So, we won't always see smog or smoke, but, pastel, sometimes almost psychedelic sunsets from smoke that was produced hundreds of miles away several days earlier.

        • richard richard

with all that drinking across the nation no wonder there's a drought. .. 🙂

auto-text jokes aside, bushfires in Oz create some pretty spec sunsets, sometimes thousands of kilometres away. i suppose the colour is mostly affected by the type of flora that is burned. as the sun's rays shine through, many brilliant new colours are painted across the sky.

but i'll leave it to a poet to describe a little…

          "My Country – Dorothea Mackellar"

          I love a sunburnt country,
          A land of sweeping plains,
          Of ragged mountain ranges,
          Of droughts and flooding rains.
          I love her far horizons,
          I love her jewel-sea,
          Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!

          The stark white ring-barked forests,
          All tragic to the moon,
          The sapphire-misted mountains,
The hot gold hush of noon,
          Green tangle of the brushes
          Where lithe lianas coil,
          And orchids deck the tree-tops,
And ferns the warm dark soil.

Core of my heart, my country!
          Her pitiless blue sky,
When, sick at heart, around us
          We see the cattle die
But then the grey clouds gather,
          And we can bless again
          The drumming of an army,
          The steady soaking rain.

I'm sorry, majia, that was not the response I was hoping for. I've never seen pink clouds except at sunset or on the Fukushima webcam. I have seen these long after sunrise and long before sunset, they are a entirely different. This pink fog is not as pink as the clouds on the webcam, fainter, but discernable, to people who don't know about the webcam, and don't know that pink is associated with cesium.

    • HoTaters HoTaters

NoNukes, w/o giving your exact location, to which part (neighborhood)in San Francisco are you referring?

Hmmn … I'm in Fairfield, not far from Suisun Bay. I'll now begin to watch for odd-colored clouds.

We've had brown fog ever since the chemtrail, ahem, DARPA weather modification program, ahem, global warming study began. Never used to see that when I was young. Never saw it before 1997 or so. Lived all over Northern CA on the coast, and in Nevada for awhile. Drove through the Central Valley a lot, too, and NEVER saw any fog or clouds which weren't some shade of white or gray. NEVER saw brown before.

Pink, well, that's a new one on me.

  • Sickputer

Check out these wind patterns for the US:

Whipping down from California into Arizona and into west Texas. I have not seen pink clouds. But plenty of hazy smoky skies. If you had a headache over the weekend… you weren't alone.

    Another view of the jetstream:

That big stream out in the western Pacific Ocean is going to roll in with some of the recent emissions from Fukushima NPP. These are very toxic emissions from recent fires and explosions which Tepco censored in their video releases for four days last week.

    • Time Is Short Time Is Short

Here are some interesting active windmaps dealing with nuclear fallout from nuclear weapons, which fit this category, since there's an equal amount of 'fallout' being emitted from Japan hourly. Read the info, and just multiply the projected damage by the number of hours since the reactors blew (as of today approximately 13,560):

Here is a reference guide for nuclear fallout prevention guidelines on agricultural areas (remember, absolutely NONE of these guidelines were implemented AT ANY TIME, so again multiply worst case scenario by 13,560):

    • NoNukes NoNukes

I am sorry about your headache, Sickputer. Yesterday I had the burning sensation in my sinuses that I had last March, when we were hit hard. The jet stream is largely far north of us, I can't imagine what it will be like when it is here. I am concerned about the cesium 137, etc., in the ocean is coming in with the fog.

Every time I read a story about a nuke plant experiencing an anomaly they can't explain, I remember these stories. Can you give me a link back to an original source? Many thanks. Philip

this is the latest zeitgeist of our times; that we'll be delivered from the 'evil' by 'angels' from-on high. This myth served them well in the past (heaven/hell paradigm) and is now been dusted-off and given new lipstick for our modern age. It's attractive to the powerless…at those of us who still don't know of their innate power.

The global cabal is fully aware that the masses are waking to their endless crimes and the undercurrent of rumblings that presage a world-wide revolution. They're attempting to buy more time (through such fantasies as alien intervention) to finish digging the numerous pits they're going to need for us all. I can't say I entirely disagree with their endgame. Most humans are only about themselves and care nothing for the welfare of those about them. True…this selfishness has been cultivated by the cabal and now permeates our world. But anyone – at any time – can turn-away from selfishness. Unfortunately, most find the promise of elevation above others way-too seductive to turn from. For this very reason – alone – we are to find ourselves resting in the same pit.

Only when humans come to understand – they are 'that' which comes from on high – will we lose all fear and be welcomed by 'that' which – awaits – the ascension of all enlightened species. Until then…

As said here before: Japan is toast. 🙁
I just cannot believe that anyone remains in Japan. Yet Hawaii Five-0 had a scene last night in Japan. Like nothing is happening out of the ordinary, as if people still go there just to see the sights. I cannot believe that everyone hasn't relocated elsewhere by now. I know you Japanese are an insular lot, that you like to be with your own, in your own country. But, really, you have been very stupid to remain there after 311. The writing was so clearly on the wall. (You, too, Hawaii). Have all your children go into medical professions. This is going to be a growth industry. At least until they, too, develop growths of their own. So sad. Take care all.

hear you on the sad situation Philip, but don't think anyone would stay if they had viable options to do otherwise. It's like everything else in history, with the working-class-poor being left behind, while the army-of-death approaches…

    It contains radioisotopes such as plutonium-241, cesium-137, uranium-235, gallium-57, cobalt-57, cobalt-60, manganese-54, and technetium-99.

This web page is an interactive spectrographic analysis tool which enables the user to analyze the black substance him or herself, using a mouse. Outstanding web programming here.
