Oh, truly this is the face of evil. Accordian gates, large windowless buses, and who knows what else -all state mechanisms to fend off the innocent protestor? Japanese authority needs to get a grip: the Japanese people trusted you with their lives, their futures, and you did what? Abused their trust, treated them like sub-humans, there for your empowerment? I think not. May the Japanese people wake from their shock, and come to terms with this horrible situation -before it is too late for them, and for the world.

BTW -windowless buses? Never saw those before. Somehow, I don't think they were manufactured in the last week or two to deal with these protests. If so, maybe the Japanese government can apply the same wit to solving the Fukushima CATASTROPHE before it's too late -and Japocalypse kills us all!

    Earnestly,

A concerned citizen from the West Coast of Canada.

      Hi Horseman,

Just like what police SWAT teams use here in the U.S. Only we have very large bus-like vehicles. They just don't look like buses. It's the same kind of vehicle, at least in principle.

Hi Horseman, I'm in a larger city, so our SWAT team vehicles are big and long — almost the size of school buses. Perhaps smaller cities, or other cities don't have vehicles like what we have in my area.

Have never actually been involved in a large protest in my life. Have done picketing and stand-ins but never at an event where there was riot control. Find that kind of frightening, esp. now that I'm older. I don't know if I'd survive being tasered or hit with a billy club. It's really creepy to me to see the news whenever the riot control gear and personnel come out.

Nice to hear from you HoTaters. Although I've been involved in plenty of protests, I've never encountered this kind of equipment -and yes, it IS intimidating. Like yourself, I doubt that I would survive either pepper spray (I'm asthmatic). or tasering. So, I try to protest using less physically confrontational techniques (like being on ENE NEWS).

I practised as a human rights lawyer in Canada, and am fairly educated as to the corrupt practices utilized by legal systems and governments to herd the sheeple as they please. Even so, I swear things are getting worse. I rescued a bird, and had ten police officers investigating the situation. Meanwhile, thousands of children are being raped and tortured every day in Canada -and, do you think the police will help? HA! Just last week, newspapers covered the story of the latest police scandal. A RCMP staff sargeant who initially investigated the Missing Womens case in Vancouver (about a hundred women went missing and several dozen bodies were recovered on the Picton pig farm)was found to have produced a heavy duty porn video. The good sargeant was depicted in various stages of undress, until finally he was wearing only RCMP issue boots -as he kidnapped, raped, tortured and butchered a woman. The RCMP's response? No problem. Yet, there was a very big problem: this 'officer' dismissed initial complaints about the Picton farm; had these been followed up upon at that time, two dozen women would not have subsequently been…

Who are the men of bust, breed and glory? Rip off the mask, and let's see. Hopefully, people will wake up instead of blindly obeying authority. It is good to see some Japanese people are putting up the good fight. Justice for ALL !!

    Good morning all,
I've been reading this site for over a year. Thank you to ENEnews and all of you for your wealth of accurate information and support you provide here. I post many of these stories on Twitter to help spread the word. Again, thank you all for your priceless information. xo

Welcome CanaryInACoalMine & Thank you for helping to share the information. Even though many people do not want to know, they still see your tweet or those you speak to about it will remember. For example when they see an article about Fukushima they will remember some tidbit of info you shared. And that is why it is important not to give up on those that do try to learn to the depth those of here do. It only takes a tidbit of info for them to pay a little more attention to reports they hear on Main Stream Media (MSM.

Meant to add, this has happened with a few people I have shared info with. They now tell me ohh I saw this & was telling so & so about what is really going on. I do not watch or read most MSM & so now friends tell me what the articles are about or Not about. Of course I use that opportunity to add a little more info. Tidbits of info are all most can handle before I must help change the subject.

~Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around…

I agree with everything you said! I work in a hospital and have been meaning to introduce myself to our main nuclear med guy. Well, today I did. I wanted to know if he had been following the story and what his thoughts were on it. He recalled the original incident but didn't realize things were as bad as they are. Another nuc med guy came over and joined our conversation. I believe I peeked their interest in what's occurring in Fukushima. I brought up ENEnews on my phone and was showing them posts of what's really going on. I'm going to be checking back with them once they catch up on events. I feel some comfort in that once they become aware they will also spread the word.

I've been following this horrific disaster from the beginning. I can't even find words to express my sadness, shock and disappointment. When the 3/11/11 earthquake occurred I was living across the street from the beach in So Cal. I was getting really bad vibes about continuing to live there, and that Aug moved to central Texas. I'm doubtful that there's anywhere that's "safe" but I feel a bit better being off the west coast and being somewhat below the jetstream. It sickens me that MSM wipes this under the rug.
Thanks again for the welcome, and all your valuable input :)

Anti uranium protestors arriving at Olympic Damn
Protesters gather at Olympic Dam, Herald Sun, AAP July 13, 2012 ANTI-NUCLEAR activists are gathering at Olympic Dam in South Australia’s north to protest against the proposed $30 billion expansion of BHP Billiton’s copper, uranium and gold mine.

Time that Japan’s media covered public anti nuclear movement

Japanese media in general should be more active in covering the demonstrations, including those that have taken place outside the prime minister’s office every Friday.
“Before March 11 (last year), all the media played the role of supporting the myth of nuclear safety… It is important for media to be aware of and make known what citizens want in this movement,”

Peaceful protestors are a Tyrannical Governments Wet Dream! People, Peace does not Work! I would imagine, the world would have learned that by now, really? When ever you hear people talking about Peace, GET CLEAR, they are going to get their Heads Busted! Governments only Respect “FEAR and BRUTE FORCE.” that’s the Real World, Comrades. Sorry, but the governments filled your heads with "BS peace propaganda" to make you into passive sheep so they could molest You.

Oh, and Christians … If you read your bible, “IT ALL ENDS WITH VIOLENCE!” Every time you passively let evil “turn your cheeks” the world becomes more and more EVIL!

Japan, if you want to do something constructive, then petition people (accountants and lawyers) to withhold tax from your government until they do your bidding! Unite in Contract, in order to take away funding from your corrupt politicians, let the nuclear industry bail them out!!!

That’s how you deal with corruption; you cut it off and kill it! If you are afraid to withhold, then BOW DOWN and WORSHIP THEM, because they are your Masters!

People of Japan withhold your land tax until the government shuts down reactors, show them your strength, unify, unite, and stand together.
Pick a day go to your fuse box and turn off on mass, we are their best clients and pay the most.

Civil disobegance is the order of the day, we must stick fear into them, fear is the best medicine for results,
You can easily control people with fear, fear of harm, fear of loss of money, fear for loss of power.

Does your retirement funds invest in these death machines, make sure not, most plans have these companies in your portfolio, please check and change, without investment they will have a hard time building more. Hit them in the pocket

Look at the body language of the person in the photo, near the gate.

"Got a smart uniform, and my duty to perform
So I don't care what you say
Got my orders from the top, and I'll stand until I drop
I'm the only one who can spoil your fun with one shake of the head ….
I don't care who you say you are, I can't let you in heeeeere

I can tell you I'm the law, with my medals from the war
So don't tell me what to do with my narrow point of view
Oh I know you're probably right, I guess
But still, it's not easy saying yes"

I respect police, fire personnel, emergency responders. Sometimes blind obedience to authority can be detrimental to one's own best interest. So sad, they seem clueless they may be signing their own death warrants due to radiation poisoning.

So take me home to the red, red skies
        And the brown, brown grass
        And the black, black seas
        And the broken glass
        And the dead, dead seas

Today what Nik Kershaw spoke of has come to pass — as if he were speaking prophetically of what was to come.

Take to the streets! I've been to 100's of protests in San Fran & DC where I was not arrested nor tear-gassed. I've only smelled tear gas a few times. I take a mask & goggles & milk of magnesia+hankie to swab eyes in case. I've chosen to risk arrest many times, & actually been arrested dozens of times in non-violent civil disobedience, mostly in the Bay Area. I've never had to pay a fine nor stay in jail overnight. Usually, they neither drop nor press charges because a trial would garner more PR for our cause, but they keep it "hanging over our heads" by not dropping charges. (They can press charges w/in a year.) At most protests, you won't be arrested unless you so choose. If you don't want to, listen for the cops' order to disperse. Twice a year (Good Friday & Hiroshima Day), dozens block the entrance to the Livermore nuke lab. http://www.trivalleycares.org Aug 5, 2012 4:00 PM. Many more protest on the grass, instead of in the driveway, & don't get arrested but support those who do. These are the best people, well worth being in a pen for a few hours to talk & sing w/ 'em. It's riskier to protest in some places. Worth it-the most effective way to bring positive change, plus strategic boycotts & strikes. Not that I'd ever invite or provoke it, but I don't fear police brutality because, if reported, it brings more of the public to our side.
