Remember, if they knew for a certain that 1/3 of the population was going to die because of Fukushima, for example, they would never make it public. They would quietly head to their bunkers while pretending everything was fine. They would say, “oh look here at this drama, and look there at that drama!” All of course which is a diversion.
In a way, similar to what they are doing now. Should make you go hmmmmm.

RICHLAND — Energy Northwest determined on Friday its declaration of an unusual event at Columbia Generating Station, submitted Thursday to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, was unnecessary.

If you have seen pics of these pipes/valves after 40 year + they will not undo as put together, some are barely recognizable, I posted a link a few weeks ago of some at a plant in NJ. Have to be sawed or torched !

xdrfox, I thank you for the news…but…did NO ONE repair the damn pipes in forty years, or are they only looked at when they are about to break? How can they be allowed to get into that condition if there is standard maintenance and inspection of the pipes?

Cost of:
Say if pipes/valves had to be changed every so many years, lot of in these things, many are hot with radioactivity, can make people who work on very sick, may cause a bigger problem and more costly in dollars and health inside and outside of plant trying to replace !
May keep plant from producing power for set time or cause unfixable problem shutting down reactor for good !

Friends of the Earth, the Nuclear Information and Resource Service, and Physicians for Social Responsibility have filed a Freedom of Information Act request demanding U.S. government data on radiation releases from the Fukushima nuclear complex.
On March 16 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissioner Gregory B. Jazcko told Congress that he was recommending the 50-mile evacuation radius but did not give an explicit explanation of how he had determined that this was necessary.
The three groups called the scope of this recommended evacuation “highly unusual and suggestive of extraordinarily high radiation levels in excess of those reported to the public in Japan and the U.S,” and they noted that the U.S. only requires reactor operators to plan for evacuations out to ten miles.
“The radiation monitoring information being collected by the U.S. Government in Japan is of urgent interest to the public in the U.S. and internationally and we expect an expedited response to the FOIA request,” Tom Clements, Southeastern nuclear campaign coordinator for Friends of the Earth said in a statement. “If the full data set is not immediately released, the government can rightly be accused of attempting to cover up the radiation threat posed by the disaster. This would severely undermine regulators’ credibility.”
“We think the American and Japanese public have a right to see the complete details of the Fukushima radiation data and, therefore, we have requested the NRC and the DOE to release the information under the Freedom of Information Act, said attorney Diane Curran who filed the FOIA request for the groups. “If necessary, we are prepared to go to federal court to get the uncensored set of measurements.”

I am leaving my daughter in Georgia and keeping her there until the summer of next year when hopefully some of this is resolved. I am also saving the air filter in my car so I can use it in the class action law suit Helen Caldicott and others are filing on behalf of those affected by this radiation from fukushima. Tell everyone, save your air filter for evidence.

This is re- f**king -diculous. To have any validity an “Aerial Radiological Survey” should be a scientific endeavor, no? Yet mark their own words:
The baseline would be used in the event of a radiation emergency to compare radioactive contamination to the normal levels found during this study.
So they are saying that what’s in the air in Washington right now is “normal”. Foregone conclusion. They are saying that there is not currently a “radiation emergency”. Right. This is a pretty Orwellian normalcy if you ask me.
Further, from their FAQ’s:
A radiation baseline tells us how much background radiation is currently found in an area. This baseline would be used to compare against measurements taken after a radiation emergency occurs.
A radiation emergency HAS ALREADY OCCURED!
The amount of material from Japan was extremely low and will not be detected by equipment on the helicopter
They have already developed a position on the amount of radiation from Japan, without having done any measurement.
We do not expect to see any areas emitting harmful levels of radiation.
Proper scientists do not go into an experiment with expectations. They honestly go where the facts lead. People with presumptions typically find evidence that support them.
This whole thing, funded by “Homeland Security”, the same folks who are sexually violating little old ladies and children at U.S.airports, smacks of another make-work boondoggle for local agencies.
Not even to mention that what they might find would be held from us because of “National Security”! I’m so fed up with this crap I could spit.

The nuclear industry and nuclear regulators worldwide, as well as specifically in the United States, have continually covered up disasters and radiation releases as if they never happened or posed no danger to the public.
To begin to understand the corruption of the nuclear power industry and the danger we are in because of it, you must first realize that they actually fund their regulators, The NRC in the United States and the IAEA for the world.
