I like your blog. Very informative. I had no idea about the radium girls and I am from Illinois.

I picture a chunk of nuclear fuel buried in the debris, being incinerated…causing the spike. Is this possible?
Report Comment
It is the earthquake, shaking things that go up in smoke.
Report Comment
after looking closely ay the spike it is the same sort of spike ai get in the uk, especially after a release of iodine 131 ,from mercoule, the forward spikes were above 0.40 even above 0.50 mcSv/h
the graph shows a direct movement of the line upwards with a sloping downward movemwnt..
onmy soes this would l like this
0.41 spike then
0.25 then
0.18 then
0.15 etc
the zero point drop is classic too!
it may have been just a hot particle wafting by…
point to note if it was a particle and its being made out to be a big deal.. its because all the reactors are switched off and have been cleared.. hebce the cover up on monitoring last year.. what to do with all the gasses of 52 reactors?? it had to go somewhere???
i am beginning to think that japan has less hot particles in the air (except the contaminated region) than europe or some parts of the usa and belarus.. this is directly (if it can be said to be true) as a result of all the reactors not emmitting there legal amounts and illegal amounts of toxic and radioactive spewings..
0.42 mcSv/h.. walk in the park in london that!! i got a few 0.52 mcSv/h a couple of days ago
today, though low at 0.11 average with rises to 0.15 mcSv/h but getting 0.29 mcSv/h largely.. though the peaks are not as frequent as i have been posting.. cool clear (in comparison) air hitting the uk
i think that the contamination i am picking up is historical trapped small clouds and particulates!
my theory!
Report Comment
to clarify that the 0.29 mcSv/h refered to was a quick peak with a return to 0.11 mcSv/h as described above.. lasting 1 to 5 minutes..
Report Comment
one of the charts shows a 0.03 mcSv/h low.. not an average but wow
arclights jealous!
it must be 8 months since my last low low dose!! i would have to go to the dusty section of enenews archives to find out though.. sure it was before mercoule and hungary?? maybe it was a figment of my imagination!! lol! 0.03 eh!!
we really need to get those kids in fukushima somewhere less contaminated like anywhere else in japan!
older adults only in the contaminated zone! if thats their free choice../rant
peace

Wow, as always, great work, Arclight! Your seemingless boundless energy never ceases to amaze! You should find a way of bottling that up and sell it! (if nothing else, to help pay for your motorcycle trips!)
And I wholeheartedly agree! We MUST insure the children of Fukushima are protected and moved OUT of harm's way! It is the conscionable and right thing to do.

@JPN_PMO: Is it true that Fukushima may destroy the whole world when 4th reactor melts?
And with that I bid you great folks GOODNIGHT!

That is not that much. The average in upstate NY is about .14-.18 with it coming down to .11 rarely around here. I am not saying that my readings are normal or good mind you, but hopefully not deadly. What is happening in Japan is far worse then we can imagine or read on simple instruments like counters.
