New Video of Scientist Kaltofen Presenting to American Public Health Association, Fairewinds Associates, Inc, Dec. 8, 2011:

A professional video of Marco Kaltofen’s presentation to the American Public Health Association was recently made available to Fairewinds. Kaltofen states that hot particles are contaminating portions of northern Japan. He also states that auto air filters from Fukushima, that he tested in his Massachusetts laboratory, are so radioactive that they have to be disposed of in a buried radioactive waste disposal site in the US. Additionally, he expresses concerns for the mechanics who work on cars in Fukushima Prefecture.

  • For an [indoor] air filter that was run in Noda City, just North of Tokyo, 150 km from accident site
  • 230 picocuries of radiation [in Sept. 2011, likely measured per square foot, i.e. 230 pCi/ft²]

So how did these highly radioactive filters get to the United States?
Obviously, we are NOT testing imported goods…

They were sent From Tokyo to be tested and not new filters to sell here in the US.

I understand that they were not new. I get it that they were used and dirty coming from their source.
The question this raised for me is – Just how much radioactive items are sent through our airports, post offices, mail trucks, Fed -Ex deliveries, UPS etc…
        Just made me wonder.

Ex-chief of Japan nuclear plant has cancer
    (AFP) – 19 hours ago
TOKYO — The former chief of Japan’s crippled nuclear plant, who left the job last week, has cancer of the esophagus, TEPCO said Friday, adding it was unlikely to be linked to radiation exposure.

I for one wonder if contaminated foodstuffs caused his cancet. Karma’s a bitch…. Maybe he will reflect on what he has done to the world niw.
    Amen.

I dont care if he reflects on his own demise, not to be cruel, but what is important is stopping all nuclear project and shutting down all reactors as soon as practical

China won’t think twice about sending us anything that is irradiated from Japan. The more money for them the better is their opinion.

@Stock do you honestly think that the mutual governments are going to voluntarily shut down anything that makes them money?

Nope. The explosions will have to happen first and then, guaranteed, they will find a “special team of expert scientists” that will find a “safer” way to handle these “situations”.

I thought the USA wasnt testing any imports from Japan as per that deal Clinton made with the Japanese government, from what I understand the government doesnt require anything to be tested, I bet it is the wet dream for those libertarians who dont believe government should do anything at all for the citizens.

TEPCO wants to raise rates, yet again, after a decade of overcharging consumers so that business could have much cheaper rates.

I think there is no Surprise that the Airfilter of Fukushima Cars are contaminated!

A Car is sucking a lot of Air through the Filter,
it would be more informative when we can see how many Kilometer this Car was driven in the months
after the Accident, we can say the same about the inhouse Filter- how much Air was flown through it!

Without a knowledge about this Facts the provided Information is not really useful!

    Regards

    PS; my Radiation readings today:

    Radex1706, 10cm above the ground for 5min
was starting with 0.12uSv/h and stopped at 0.09uSv/h!
