A "mystery virus" is reportedly affecting sheep and other livestock in Europe.
The article mentions nothing about how the virus is detected; it's supposed to be taken for granted, apparently.
The in-utero damage sounds more like the effect of radionuclide fallout.

Sheep have a 4.9 month gestation period.
Mid-January born sheep would have been conceived in late August, roughly. Mid-November in mid-June. However, genetic damage could have been at any time from before conception to some time before birth.

Floating crane has been there for months, the whiteout areas covering up the bubbling gases in the four reactor areas..and the FAUX tree(s) as well.Would be funny if not so dangerous a coverup. And the faux grasses in TEPCOs webcam, have so much fun watching the designs..it snows..everything gets blown down flat..the fake bushes look very very fake. They could be planting live plants during down times as well. We know they did spray paint brown/dead grass GREEN. Its all a stage show..too bad its such a tragic and deadly situation.

This happened regularly all over the world after this Nuclear Radiation Contamination disaster.
Instead of still births excessive low birth rates occurred in many animals leading to premature death. I lost two newly born sheep in April of last year which was the first time I ever lost any sheep after birth.
The region where I reside in the Sierra Foothills was pounded with radioactive rain fallout from Fukushima. These poor little one's never had a chance.
All the insects and bugs that live on or in the ground disappeared in April of last year too. I guess they did not like being zapped with gamma, beta and alpha radiation either.
I say my first red ant three days ago in almost a year. Maybe the area is recovering, maybe not.

It was quite a nuclear cancer fallout ride we all went on in the Sierra Mountain Range .
The shame is we were all lied to by our own government, which intentionally covered up this Radioactive Rain and Radiation Fallout and many people in California will suffer health wise in the very near future if they did not take proper precautions last year.
Maybe we should start calling this stuff by its real name though.

We lost litters of puppies, and have "false" pregnancy. Likely the loss of fetus in utero. Sad sad sad. The true effects will never be known.
Is anyone following the lack of cancer medications –especially the ones for childhood luekemia. Seems all the stockpile..was suddenly GONE in September 2011. Still not available, and some of us have to shift to other meds which are not as good. Its unusual–and its worldwide. Wonder WHO got all the meds? Japan? All you have to do is check the obituaries in your local paper or for that matter a major population center. You will be shocked. I counted 154 deaths for the Seattle area a week ago. There have been higher numbers than that in previous weeks. I think total for the 365 calendar year was 6300 deaths for a population of 500 and something thousand. That seemed like an awfully high death ratio.

JR advertises trips to Fukushima (big posters at train stations) and everybody shall eat Fukushima products. And why is that? Because radiation diseases shall be spead throughout the country so that noone can blame "Fukushima" and noone has to pay for it! "Hey, Fukushima citizen, why should we pay your cancer treatment? Everybody in Japan has got cancer so it can not be related to the nuclear accident."

Other countries also dont want citizens to start checking on THEIR nuclear plants. They are all leaking, such as NOrth Anna which has contaminated the groundwater with radiation product, and governments want to keep it quiet. I work with people and not animals so I am seeing a great increase in cardio-pulmonary illnesses (hot particles) and flu like symptoms, (low dose)… but my readings without rain or other precipitation are about 38.7 counts per minute inside or out. Another observer nearby finds that with precipitation, the counts are dangerously high. Since getting a new Inspector Alert, I have been recording background radiation (alpha, beta, gamma) levels with which to compare when it rains or snows, and to test soil water and food. I found this device a reasonable investment: KNOWING makes me less anxious. And I stay out of the rain.
The animals did nothing to deserve this end; it saddens me so. Likewise, most of the humans affected did nothing but foolishly believe what they were told. We need to pass the word about the truth and enenews is one of the best ways, but I am met everywhere and by everyone with skepticism: even my clients who have all the symptoms of radiation poisoning when they ask their healthcare providers are laughed at. So sad yes.

There have been large numbers of human still births in North America and Japan as result of this massive nuclear disaster. This first wave of deaths where a result of the waves of radioactive Iodine that hit Japan and North America. A lot of these deaths could have been prevented if the populace had been informed.
It has just not reported by the MSM and the only information coming out is from those brave researchers who have been willing to pass on the information from their research findings.
A large number of those deaths where under 1 year old. The initial estimate for the USA is 14,000 for the first 14 weeks. Total for the period from March to December 2011 100,000. For Japan I saw an estimate of 40,000 for the March to December period.

I just hatched a bunch of baby chickens from my normal outdoor flock, 21 days in the incubator, and had a 100% hatch… so no problems on this end …

Here's an article from the Guardian on the Schmallenburg Virus that apparently is affecting animal herds across the UK. Too many unknowns and too few knowns about how this virus works and as xdrfox has already pointed out, sounds more like radiation poisoning than a virus!

Because radiation contamination weakens the immune systems of animals and humans we could see viruses that would normally be under check become infectious. There are a lot of animals presently dying in large numbers from strange infections worldwide. Seals, turtles and birds are just a few I have heard about.
These virus infections may be killing them but only because their immune systems have been so weakened from the radiation contamination in the first place.
We could equally see pandemics in the human population, like the pneumonia epidemic in Japan last year.

Your probably right Bread&Butter! But as has been said already by Vital1, radiation might be a contributing factor due to the weakening of immune systems leaving them susceptible to viruses etc. Having said that, there are no cases as of yet in Ireland, which makes me think it is a virus even though I'm sure we've had our shared dose of rads along with the rest of Europe!! I've asked my neighbour to tell me if any of his sheep are affected in any way, so far nothing!!

Important to remember sheep graze very close to the ground as opposed to cattle which prefer higher leafs of grass. This means the sheep pick up more dirt which may have toxic runoff from rainfall.
An adult sheep eats around 5 pounds of forage a day and they also eat many plants cattle and goats do not prefer.
Plants that are toxic to cattle, including larkspur, leafy
spurge, tansy ragwort and pine needles are suitable forage for sheepw as they have a greater ability to neutralize the plant toxins. At least until you add in an alien toxic like radioactive isotopes and then all bets are off.

Bread I've never heard of viruses causing these kind of defects, I've heard about things like Agent Orange and other chemicals causing these kind of defects as WELL as radiation exposure. I don't think I've ever heard of it in any creature other than humans though.

Manmade Radiation Contamination has no positive benefits for any life form exposed to it. It behaves as a mutagenic for all levels of biological life found on this planet.
