Anti-nuclear protest blogger’s home raided by police, computer equipment seized

Yuzuru Kaneko, a blogger who has been filming the anti-nuclear protests in Fukui Prefecture, had his home raided by police on October 1st in order to search for evidence of potential demonstrators who had committed crimes. [...]

On June 30th [... an] activist there that day was later arrested in September, accused of damaging property, threat and assault at the gate, and causing injury. In order to gain more evidence, the police searched Kaneko’s home, despite he having no relation to the man arrested, and seized all of his computer equipment, cameras, and memory cards. His property was still un-returned on November 5th when his supporters began pressuring the authorities to return Kaneko’s equipment, which they stated they would on November 8th.

Fukui Prefecture is home to Japan’s only operating nuclear power plant.

Via Global Voices: Below is a recent video filmed by Yuzuru Kaneko on Friday, November 9. It captures the ‘no-nuke’ demonstration in front of Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc (KEPCO), where protesters asked employees of KEPCO to cease nuclear power generation activities at the power plant.

Belarusian anti-nuclear activists ‘blacklisted’ by Lithuanian government

    By Mario A. / September 29, 2012 /

Belarusian anti-nuclear campaigners Tatyana Novikova, a Bellona contributor, and Nikolai Ulasevich were on Wednesday refused entry to neighboring Lithuania on the grounds that the Baltic country’s government had declared them “personae non grata” and potential threats to the national security of that and other European Union nations.

The severe nature of their ban from the country raises several questions about the nature of the nuclear power nexus that is gripping Lithuania, where a referendum on its planned Visaginas nuclear power plant will be held next month. That the travel ban comes from an EU nation threatens to block Novikova’s ability to travel anywhere in the Schengen zone.

Neighboring Belarus and the Russian enclave of Leningrad are also planning nuclear plants of their own with Russian funding.

Hilda Murrell murder: call to examine 'MI5 link' to murder of nuclear activist
Michael Mansfield QC wants to know what intelligence services knew about killing of anti-nuclear activist Hilda Murrell in 1984

    Mark Townsend, home affairs editor
The Observer, Sunday 18 March 2012

One of Britain's leading human rights lawyers has demanded a fresh police inquiry to establish what the British intelligence services knew about the murder of a prominent anti-nuclear campaigner.

Michael Mansfield QC said new evidence meant that an independent police force should be appointed to examine enduring concerns and inconsistencies relating to the death of Hilda Murrell in March 1984.

this report has withered.. the head of MI5 came out and made a public statement concerning the need for security preference above transparency as well as supporting unwarranted phone and data tapping..

the japanese big strategy is to get on a war footing so they can use "reasons of national security" .. my reasoning comes from this data

there have been 2 reports concerning japan relevant humans rights reports. i think the japanese government is undermining the UN report by the use of the ASEAN report

        http://nuclear-news.net/2012/11/14/asean-deeply-flawed-human-rights-declaration-effects-japans-human-rights-petitions/

then we have the japanese activists and bloggers treated like this by other human rights abusers around the world (too numerous to mention..

"In this regard, we urge your government to work with delegations from all regions to ensure that the Council addresses situations of human rights violations, including gross and systematic human rights violations and human rights emergencies, without selectivity or double-standards. We also urge your government to support efforts to ensure that all credible allegations of reprisals or intimidation against persons and groups who have engaged or have sought to engage with the UN human rights machinery are brought to the urgent attention of the Council; that the Council demands the government concerned to ensure that any alleged reprisals are investigated in a prompt, impartial, transparent and effective manner and that perpetrators are held to account; and that the Council requests the governmentconcerned to inform it of measures taken in this regard."

FEAR! FEAR!! Making people afraid in the hope that people will stop spreading the truth, illegal thoughts. The elites are afraid…

Yep, places like enenews or any other sites that publishes the truth will be targeted.

Where they can't use ACTA, they will use something like Ma-li-cious Com-muni-cations Act 1988, section 1 in the UK which is open to interpretation should you comment UN is XYZ etc

They think somehow someway in their multi 10 million dollar "Listed as "Green" in the real estate guides" palaces, they will be safe from radiation… That kind of thing only happens to little people… If it happens close by us.. We'll just move!!! Somewhere safe…

Police arrested someone, accused of damaging property…

In a sense, it is good to know that police are still arresting people for damaging property. Now we need to remind them that they forgot to arrest those who damaged the properties of 100.000 or so people. That damage is the worst imaginable damage a property can suffer. Even after a fire, explosion, bulldozing or anything like that you can return and rebuild your home or busyness. But those victims I'm speaking of can never return.

When start police doing their job?

Another complaint filed over Fukushima disaster against Tepco, ex-nuclear body
    http://www.japantimes.co.jp/text/nn20121116b4.html

    Kyodo
FUKUSHIMA — A criminal complaint was filed by 13,000 people nationwide Thursday against 33 senior officials of Tokyo Electric Power Co. and the government's now-defunct Nuclear Safety Commission over the meltdown disaster at Tepco's Fukushima No. 1 power plant that was triggered by the March 11, 2011 megaquake and tsunami.

In the complaint filed with prosecutors, the 13,000 demanded that the accused be investigated and charged with professional negligence resulting in death and injury.

The complaint was the second filed, following one made in June by 1,300 people mainly from Fukushima Prefecture.

Aiken, S.C. – Tons of weapons grade plutonium and other nuclear materials, a target for terrorists, are not being properly protected by the National Nuclear Security Administration at the Department of Energy’s sprawling Savannah River Site, according to security consultants and U.S. counterintelligence officials.

A secret security review underway at DOE and other government agencies after an elderly nun last summer breached a NNSA bomb-grade-uranium facility at the Oak Ridge Tennessee Y12 area reveals “harrowing problems in site management and control at other DOE sites,” said a Homeland Security official who requested anonymity.

The official said that the Savannah River Site was of concern because “SRS does not have the staffing or the facilities to protect the huge amounts of plutonium that have been brought to SRS in recent years.”

I once again entreat you all to conscientiously stop nuclear power plants now and manage the nuclear wastes as well as you can. People must all join together and organise the decentralised non grid connected generation of electricity by pedal power so that 1) People will come to realise their worth and 2) will conserve the use of electricity by various means. 65000 MW can be saved by switching over to vapour absorption ac instead of vapour compression ac because vapour absorption requires little electricity. United we win, divided we fall. Would you like to be converted to nuclear wastes? Thats precisely what nuclear power does as time passes and the cumulative dangers of the machines of modern civilization make life impossible. We are at some 200000 MW total GRID power supply capacity now. Lets call it a day desist from increasing this and redesign our life styles so that we use enjoyably our own energy-living energy instead of wasting ourselves. Decentralised pedal power in India is worth 100000 MW at 100Watts peak per head.If you look at CEA figure for load generation balance, we can see that 20000 MW of our present grid capacity is being stolen!

We have become our own worst enemy. Anyone with half a brain would take the time to google Ron Paul and listen to 1 hour of his reasoning and realize that neither obama or romney was the answer. We are on track to crumble as a nation and we brought it on ourselves by being ignorant. Ignorance is not a sin however the consequences of ignorance are grave.
    And I quote:
Those who give up essential liberties for temporary safety deserve neither liberty or safety.
    Benjamin Franklin

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.
