Answers Now: How authentic is Takashi Uesugi’s Fukushima Reporting?
Japan Daily Press

June 11, 2012

A lot is being speculated about freelance journalist Takashi Uesugi’s reporting on the Fukushima disaster. From his perspective, it’s all a big conspiracy theory to conceal the facts about the radiation levels reported and other such stuff. If we go by his claims, then independent journalists and international media has got it right, while the local press is just covering up the glitches and playing hand-in-glove with the Japanese government.

According to Uesugi, the Japanese public has been brainwashed to such an extent that they are lapping up the ‘lies’ that the local media has been dishing out. However netizens are lashing back with counter-claims that it is Uesugi who needs to get his facts right! Below is a reproduction of some of the claims that Uesugi has made, with the counterclaims as well.

[...]

See the full report for the analysis of Uesugi’s statements.

Comments to a similar article on Japan Probe add some insight:

[...] you don’t give much attention to things that Uesugi got right and that were basically ignored by the mainstream media.  For example, he talked about the re-exclusion of foreign journalists and free journalists from the kantei kisha kaiken (press conferences at the prime minister’s residence) immediately after the earthquake.  As best I can figure out, this (and many other things he wrote about) actually happened while most of the Japanese media were basically silent about it.

Reply to above:

I totally agree with you.
Also ” a scary photo of the reactor no. 3 hydrogen explosion has been censored in Japan” is kind of true. Actually it is not the photo, but TVs. Japanese TVs didn’t show the explosion of the reactor at the time, but foreign medias did. I remember it clearly. Watching two different news about an accident that may affect your life was not nice thing to experience.

I think there has definately been a conspiracy to coverup or reduce the facts. I think we can lose the word theory, and the headline will be right.

My instincts tell me to bet on Takashi Uesugi as what I have seen of MSM reporting, whether Japanese or other, has not been credible. Yet the longer article in Japan Daily Press of 6/11/12 only confused the issue even more. Oh well.

Regardless of what is reported or not, fact is, radiation from nuclear plants makes you ill.

  • One of the last great articles I read stated. Fukushima radiation is helping to keep blue fin tuna off the endangered species list.

Its not a conspiracy. Its reality.

    I will say this again.

All of japan (ALL OF JAPAN). Is toast.

This is certain. From east to west, and north to south. The entire pacific ocean is nothing more than a radioactive exclusion zone. (say good bye to a third of the planet, and 45 % of our natural resources).

Its not that hard to see that radiation is being detected, and ingested from japan to the usa daily… Whats worst is not that its being hidden from the public (because naturally the information is there). Its that The ACCUMULATION, is getting WORSE by the changing of each and every day…

What we are seeing here is panic control, and politics; The goverments dont want you to get angry. They want you to invest and spend; throwing common sense out the window…

Think about it. YOU PAY YOUR TICKETS.
    It Is ILLEGAL TO LITTER>

But spread an apocalyptic amount of radiation all across the globe. Putting countless lives at danger… NOTHING. NO JAIL. NO PROBATION.
In fact. Tepco is still up and running (mind you broke and ruined)…

Japan needs to cease all of tepcos assets; They need to strip them down. Burry the waste, and pay the victims compensation…
(note there are victims here in the usa aswell). What about us>>>?

    Report Comment

    • If japan isnt going to take fukushima head on. I elect that an international body declares war with japan and utilizes the entirety of their assets to saving the human race.

      (but wait)…

      What if its beyond that.

What if weve passed the point of turning back…?

We've sat, and waited, and waited…
Every press release, leaves more questions, than answers… Every iaea and nrc meeting is essentially a public dummy down of lies and stalling… There is obviously enough data collected to date to come forth with the truth behind fukushima…

But the the truth must be so shocking… So unbearable to hear… That its worth spending millions if not billions of dollars, to conceal.
From false media reports, to government censorship, to disinformation campaigns, to reduction of medical treatments…
      '

WHAT DOES THIS PICTURE SAY TO YOU>

      EVERYTHING IS NOT OK.

THE TRUTH IS that its been a slinky all along…
AND WERE F)(*^'eD Beyond all belief.

Sadly, this remembers me an old "joke":
"What's to do in case of a nuclear accident?"
          "Kiss you children, good bye!"

Thirty-five years ago, german televison had made a movie about our school (experimental type of comprehensive school) and especially our class. Already in this time (as a teenager) i'm acting against nuclear energy. So they documented a lesson in "knowlegde of society": a discussion about NPPs. One of my classmates ask me (that's documented): "What, if wie don't stop NPPs?", and I replyed: "In This case, we will have 30 years in future the hole world as a nuclear desert."

It is so sad, that I'm -besides 5 years difference- was absolutely right. In these former "era", they laugh about me, sayin' : "My power comes from the grid.", "Would you like to go back to the stone age?"

But I don't want to laugh about them now, 'cause it's to serious.

          h.

P.S.: hope, there are not to much mistakes in langage.

    • I think a global nuclear disaster is enough to make anyone metaphysically inclined towards a supernaturally philosophical point of view. (Trying to avoid that r-word above, so I don't get bumped).

I tweeted the Dalai Lama yesterday, but no reply yet. Invited him to share his views on enenews.com.

      https://twitter.com/#!/DalaiLama

      His latest on twitter:

"To be extremely self-centred, only interested in your own satisfaction, always brings negative consequences in the long run."

"When, from the depths of your heart, you spontaneously wish all beings to find true, lasting happiness, this is great love."

"Cultivating inner discipline is something that takes time; expecting rapid results is simply a sign of impatience."

"The ultimate source of happiness is not money and power, but warm-heartedness."

I wonder if he carries a geiger counter under his robe?

To pay everyone proper compensation would bankrupt Japan. In order to keep Japan solvent, the government will lie, cover up the truth, and sacrifice a percentage of its population. It's not a conspiracy, it's a plan of action being carried out with extreme diligence.

Exactly… while laudable, the lawsuits against Tepco are only going to be useful to force attention on the real criminals…the international nuclear cartel.

Tepco is alive in name only. The Japanese government has been printing worthless money to pay the mounting bills. It will get much worse financially in Japan and spill over to the US and other countries who host Japanese investments.

Get ready for a fire sale of real estate that will seriously crimp several national economies. Japan's economy will suffer the worst. Headed for Angola status in this decade. When tourism drops 90% and exports are cut in half, Japan will slip to third world status. Someone had to be the poor unfortunate poster child for the insanity of nuclear power plants and they will be it forever.

The purported nuclear renaissance is dead, dead, dead. Oh, there will be a handful of plants added and they will chug along with most of the other monsters for a few decades, but their reign of terror will be limited after the news of Japan's death by radiation finally trickles into the ears and minds of every banker, politician, and dictator in the world. Most of them already see the handwriting on the wall, they just don't want to admit it yet publicly.

Big Brothers everywhere will one day give their kindly speech naming nuclear energy as the new enemy requiring much public sacrifice to bury the deadly waste.

Correct me if I am wrong or not but didn't reactor 2 or 3 have plutonium pieces and dust blew away from the plant grounds, small pellets where fond two miles from the plant grounds. The radiation from plutonium is great, a piece of dust can cause cancer and death if inhaled. This I believe is that they are trying to cover up because there has been tons of plutonium all over Japan, Pacific Ocean and North America and it is very lethal compared to other types of radiation partials. The problem is that a Atomic Bomb when exploded is about 500 feet above ground, so it does not radiate many particles and the radioactive bomb material is in a small area and only about 3 or 4 pounds compared to tons of fuel material, when it explodes it is violent compared to the fuel rods exploding, this produces very small pieces with one to ten atoms in a cluster compared to 10 to 100 thousand atoms in a piece of fuel blown up. I believe the Northern Hemisphere is toast with in a 100 years and life mean while will not be niece.

I say, "Steady everyone!" … This is and must will be a life changing event … kind of like the assassination of Lincoln, or the sinking of the Titanic … except this time there are no life boats at all, and it's our planet that's being assassinated, slowly, before our eyes. This has always been the promise of large scale, man made fission power, and now it has been realized. The die are cast. We all bear witness.

Sooner or later, the truth will out. Meantime, PTB want to manage the disaster … largest commercial real estate default ever was Morgan Bank money handing the keys back to the seller of a giant commercial project, where? You guessed it … Tokyo, a year ago, March.

Rearrange your lives, if you are able and willing, to suffer less exposure to the toxic actinides our nuclear brethren have unleashed upon us all, seems to be the message.

Slowly yet slowly advance the non-nuclear agenda as ever you can, and don't accept the lies and the distractions of our well-financed foe, for he is trying to kill you, and we all know it. Succor the Japanese, and let us shutter nukes everywhere, and make these new less risky places become resettlement zones for the waves of radiation refugees who are sure to come.

We have millions of acres of under-utilized land along our
nations highway rights of way which have been left out of the modern economy, where we could site low carbon, low cost, pedestrian-focused, life-style communities, TODAY!

    Peace to…

The "elite" of this world are simply following the prescription of the Georgia Guidestones which is written in English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese and Russian; "1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature."
They need to eliminate billions of people to reach their desired goal. Somehow, someway, they think they are immune from radionuclides. Perhaps they have an antidote that they are not willing to share with the "hoi pilloi". Either that or their inbredness has finally made them blind.

Depopulation isn't just a conspiracy theory or theme. It is really happening, so is Fukushima crisis and media cover-ups.

Nuclear, geo-engineered virus pandemics, wars, genocides are means to an end.

@andii, yes, I wish nukes would go away. This is also a waste of time that I wish wasn't happening.

I can't see it happening in my lifetime though. We are stuck with this toxic pandoras box. For the rest of our lives. However shortened that may be.

Depop may be a side effect of Fuku. What I am complaining about is the thought that 'TPTB' want to reduce the population. This flies in the face of what capitilism and consumerism are all about.

Anyway, it's all boring, wish I could just be talking about a fun weekend at the beach instead.

            hi richard,
I'm with you on this 100%. It's like if anyone had a bit of brain left, we all had to turn into anti nuclear activists. As you say, sadly, it will be with us for the rest of our life here. We made a mess by not paying attention to the danger of nuclear energy, TPTB's agenda. It's no use crying over spilled milk so we might as well use the short time left to make it better for those who might still have future hey?

I can't imagine what it was like for some scientists and lone activists (quite few elderly individuals in Japan) who have been campaigning for over 30-40 years (no one took them seriously till 311).

Capitalism and consumerism may just be a means to an end for TPTB. Sooner or later, capitalism based on never-ending profit growth, on a planet that cannot support it, will fail. TPTB have probaby always known this, and have something else in mind for when capitalism fails.

Good nutrition, pure water (no fluoride, etc. that make us more susceptible), and good pot may be the antidote. 3 things the elite have been trying to keep from us. That, and maybe they have surgically implanted air filters, so they don't breath in nearly as much crap as the rest of us.

Could 'they' also have zombie implants instead of brains, with chips that are controlled by remote control, installed right after hiring… ?

The zombie master keys in wireless transmission such as:

Say something positive about nuclear power; beep, end of transmission.

(PR person from large corporation issues press release saying something good about nukes) Mass media prints it, in return for huge advertising budget from same company, promoted via same 'programming'.

Zombies have no soul, no ethics, and no morals, while just feeding on paper money and blood of victims.

Like in the horror movies, the living dead zombies are walking around, acting and pretending they are alive, but they are really dead inside.

The living dead zombies feed on the blood of others, have no problems with causing millions of cancers and deaths, just to get another cash/blood infusion to keep going another day, month or year.

Hmmm, a movie came out recently, about this very thing..

Could it be that truth is stranger than fiction sometimes?

Yes AGR truth is always much stranger than fiction … no way you could make this stuff up, tho Godzilla came close … but this monster is the ultimate ninja, invisible, silent, deadly, and it can go through you, or lodge inside of you, or change your genes to make you give birth to a monster (terato-genic)

Go central casting … GE's Jeffrey Immelt as a child molesting, vampire, Darth Vader father figure. Such good things he brings to life, our president's go to jobs guy, actually insisted onthe debris burning scheme, to re-volatalize the toxic actinides, spreading the cancers to all the corners of Japan, wrecking any future epidemiology linking GE design flaws to huge cancer incidences … do you think Hollywood could dream this up?

Did we really give up the Avenger Project? Right now Captain America and Hulk could prove useful at Fuku-Dai.

    Peace folks.
