Professor Yukio Hayakawa Takes a Walk in Fukushima City
[...] The entire walk took 7 hours yesterday, says Hayakawa in his tweet [...]4.164 microsieverts/hour on the “black dust” – roadside sediment of soil and organic materials. (It is not just in Minami Soma City, where the highest radioactive cesium density in the “black dust” so far is 3.43 million becquerels/kg.) [...]
For detailed locations and measurements, see his blog post (in Japanese).

This "Mystery Black Dust" must be from all the open pit burning of radioactive debris onsite at Fukushima Daiichi and from both open and contained incineration offsite throughout the region. Why is it still a mystery, whatever the source? Wouldn't a few simple tests reveal what it is made of, or at least, if not what it once was, then what it is now, i.e., elements of…?
Report Comment
3.43 MILLION Bq/kg. That's a HUGE amount of Cesium. Phew! (Whistling.)
Perhaps radioactive debris is being incinerated & radioactive green waste is being composted, then the two are combined. Just a conjecture, since there appears to be organic matter there as well.
Throw in a couple of those cedar boughs for good measure ….

Aren't those considered "trace amounts"
The mystery has been sloved…the black stuff is….
Leathal…a well known substance that is emmited from nuclear plants….

Watching the webcam videos, you can see clouds of black dust emerge from reactor 4, and nuckelchen has identified black clouds emerging from reactor 3, his videos are here:
http://www.youtube.com/user/nuckelchenblogde
The coriums appear to be now producing this black dust, which is a game changer, since the black dust is not invisible and people can see it.
To leave so many infants and children and adults anywhere near this black dust is genocide. They can't survive inhaling this matter. Everyone needs to be moved away now. It is a tsunami of radiation.

Is this Mystery Black Dust – Radium?
Radium is an almost pure-white alkaline earth metal, but it readily oxidizes on exposure to air, "Becoming Black in Color."

They've had time to analyze and trace it's origin, but seems the information will remain a "mystery", and kept from innocent citizens.

I agree, In This Case, No News Is Bad News.

Easy to solve the "mystery" and by that I mean
the ignorance and cover up of what it could
be because they problalby already know and
don't want cause a panic bu releasing the information
there are Gas Chromaticgraphs and Spectrophoometers
and devices called Colorimeters to detect
elements and concentrations but even a new and
cool device called an Identifinder will detect the
amount, direction, concentration, and the type
of radiation. These are used by first responders in the US.
It's not hard to FIND OUT. But he govement and TEPCO is ignorant
and would like a cover up so one less thing they can
panic the public about.

the fact that it is STILL a 'mystery black substance' should be telling us that its not natural and it came from the npp's, come on now, what are the major ingredients of nuclear fuel? uranium and plutonium. if they dont want to say what it is, then assume the worst. isnt that always how it is? uranium used to come from pitchblende that is black. plutonium used to come from….oh wait thats right. ;>
oh wait again, this is all rumor. better to just forget all about it. what black stuff. o the stuff from 2011 and 2012, oh hell we burnt that. it actually gave the furnace some extra 'kick'. it was organic, yeah thats it. its organic. found all over the countryside. yeah, organic mineral supplement free from tepco.

Yes the burning of radioactive materials mixed with
non radioactive materials in an incinerator is insane.
They don't even know what they don't know and
how this will attack the air, water, soil and
respiratory systems. Scattering contiamination around
japan and the world even more. Dumping in Toyoko bay.
Just who the he'll are this idiots making these
decisions that threaten life everywhere? They don't know
how dangeious this is. They are not scientists or anyone
with a rational mind. Turning a blind eye and trying to treat this
like common building materials or garbage does not male the radiation
go away. Sort of like those laughable "duck and cover" movies
in the 50s. Oh yeah so you can't see the blast you won't get harmmed while
your face melts off
Report Comment
So where are the scientists and nuclear engineers who do know it's insane?
Why aren't they screaming at the top of their lungs?
Report Comment
because the governments have issued gsg orders, to the labs, most likely a letter that says if you talk you can kiss your education goodbye, we have a dossier on everyone with any nuke degrees as a matter of national security. and when you filled out the forms you willingly gave us your family tree, so ya understand what we are saying boys and girls…..good……keep your mouth shut and dont say anything unless authorized to do so. any questions? o wait thats just a chapter for my FICTIONAL rumor book.
Report Comment
And where are the journalists? And environmental groups? With hundreds, maybe thousands of independent labs throughout Japan, not one group or individual can scrape money together to have the "mystery" black substance analyzed?
If this is all part of a controlled coverup, it's mind bogglingly successful on a scale never seen before.
I suspect the suppression of information is less about controlling panic and more about buying time for the elites to transfer assets and industry out of Japan.
I am starting to oscillate between great sadness for the Japanese, and contempt for their willingness to be led to slaughter like sheep. Reminds me of the passive Eloi in 1963's "The Time Machine".

Thank you BOTH! (I have made reference to that GREAT, great '63' movie about three times already,…but no one commented)!
How could this NOT make anyone think of the Eloi?

If the black dust is the result of incinerators, seems it could show up in other places.

Well… my first guess..is uranium dioxide.
Actually…a uranium dioxide/plutonium dioxide mix….

Here is my explanation of the Black G☢☢
I believe that the reason for the high Cesium counts is the interaction of Earth Quakes (EQ's) with the Corium(s) with the groundwater below the complex and that may even be cause of the Black Dust that is now being widely observed in Northern Japan.
EQ's + H☢T Corium(s) + Ground water = (Hydro Corium) Fissioning
Fissioning + Time => Radioactive Steam Releases => Black Dust
Black Dust + the burning of radioactive Debris forms Black G☢☢

Has This Been Reported Here Yet? The Black Stuff Is "Blue/Green Algae";
"On Feb 27th, It was found from the samples of the black-colored
substance taken at Shin-Ogawabashi Bridge in Minami-Soma that it was actually highly-concentrated radioactive substance which is mainly consists of blue-green algae with 1,060,000 bq/kg of radiation per kilo. Moreover, it was also found that the substance has spread in a lots of places in the city.
The algae grows everywhere and it seems that it has absorbed cesium, has blown off in the wind or flown in the rain and, as a result, has accumulated. It even floats in the air and release spores.
On Feb 29th, reports on the black substance that we had found were
handed out in a committee meeting on the nuclear plant accidents, open to public. I’m a member of the committee and one of the main members who have been working hard on this matter but I have never been told about that report.
It never mentioned a report on the black materials written by a
professor of Kobe University that we had received and had concluded it has too high level of radiation and residents must not be exposed to such a substance with no protection.
Also, it only emphasized the gamma radiation in the air and repeated there was no unusual figure measured. But now I’m talking about seriously too high level of the alpha and beta radiation in the substance."

Bacteria absorb uranium, plutonium. «Updated. Please spread this info »
Billions of years ago when Earth was teeming with radiation, bacteria came into existance, and as they absorbed iron and uranium, etc. the carcass turned into mineral deposit.
Blue-green algae = Cyanobacteria
—————
The other day, they measured over 500 CPS from the sample of blue-green algae and so forth
———————
Germanium semiconductor detector was used. Here is the sample information
Sample collected: April 9, 2012
[Sample 1] Oscillatoria (Blue-green Algea) from Minamisoma City, Fukushima Prefecture: Cs-134 1740000(Bq/kg), Cs-137 2450000(Bq/kg)
[Sample 2] Soil from Zao PA (parking area?), Zao City, Karita County, Miyagi Prefecture: Cs-134 8070 (Bq/kg), Cs-137 11500 (Bq/kg)

So, the updated record is 4,200,000 Bq/Kg in Mimanisoma. But this record will be soon broken. There is a location that recorded 700 CPM.
Already the tested sample(s) are stored and being examined by multiple research agencies. These samples stick to a magnet and emit alpha reaction. It is natural…
We detected uranium or plutonium in the blue-gree algea. The algea is flying in the air, (so the question is) whether we are breathing it in or not? (we're waiting for) the mayor's judgement…. No, we must judge the mayor who has not collected them.
———————-
According to the law, the substance which radioactive density exceeds 10,000 Bk/Kg and which total mass reaches 10,000 Bk must be handled as a radioactive isotole.
Various areas in Minamishoma city show contamination far exceeding this standard. The high level contaminants that must never be present in the residential area.
It is absolutely unthinkable to allow the residents, including children, in such land.

Additionally, "at the uranium mine in Ningyo-toge, a recovery technology called "In-place Leaching Method" is utilized taking advantage of the actions of this bacteria.

Note: "Ningo-toge uranium mine" is located in Tottori and Okayama prefectures, I think.
"In-place leaching" pours solvant into the mineral deposite in order to harvest uranium.
