Toxic truth about Japan’s ‘miracle’: Post-tsunami harmony is a myth and the reality is startlingly different, Daily Mail by Richard Jones, June 18, 2011:
According to a well-known Japanese documentary maker, TEPCO paid for the creation of a blacklist of actors and musicians who are against the nuclear industry.
When one actor, Taro Yamamoto, joined an anti-nuclear protest, he lost his part in a popular soap opera. Yamamoto’s ‘crime’ was to say that schoolchildren in Fukushima should not be subjected to the same annual radiation dose (20 microsieverts per year) as nuclear power workers in Europe.

Cindy I am assuming the pool in question is the spent fuel pool #4 unless there is more than 1 pool in the attic of the #4 building.
If that is the case, we are facing a mega-disaster because the pool would be 2/3 empty, meaning those zirconim rods would have been exposed to the air and burning (which might explain some flickering lights in the video over the last week and a half).

W: COOPER nuclear officials ARE giving you the “nuts and bolt” answers: their answer is nuts, and the residents should bolt.
What I see: The Brownville gauge just went up 1 foot to 45.23 while I was on my 2 hour desert bike ride, so up only 3 more inches to 45.5 feet in the next few hours is where COOPER has said they will shut down the plant.
Since they’re cloaking all the details, which will never be made known, let me speculate:
1) I surmise that their 45.5 shutdown level is based on the levee heights, varying from the lowest 42.5 feet to the highest of 44 feet, which are all now spilling over, and their additional estimate that after so many hours of such overflow flooding they will lose their last remaining access road and can then no longer truck in reserve diesel supplies as they are doing now, but would have to use heavy-lift helicopters.
2) They may also be estimating that after the same number of hours of levee overflow that their sandbagging efforts could no longer be further fortified (how high can you sandbag?).
Are COOPER nuclear officials going to explain contingency estimates and plans like these? Do you think?

they are near the ocean. it is the same way near san francisco bay. it is sunnier in the fall more than in the summer. right now it is almost always foggy near seaside, in the day and in the night(mostly at night) in california. fukushima is right next to the ocean, it is on top of the ocean, actually, so no it is not as surprising as some are making it out to seem.

Near Phoenix, there is a nuclear power plant with 3 reactors — the biggest installation in the US. Their reading is always higher than the surrounding areas.
It is raining in Denver. That always raises the radiation reading. I saw a reading somewhere for Omaha. I will look for it and post it. It is the highest since Mar. 11.

Get it together and get some help for you and your kids. They need your strength in the difficult times that are to come.
Most of here feel alienated and struggle with out outrage over these events and our neighbors and co-workers’ complacency.
But you must find your strength to provide emotional support for your kids and leadership to protect them as much as possible from harm.
Find support. Move, if possible, into a less stressful environment. Avoid the temptations of steroids if you are a bodybuilder. They create agitation.
You are everything to your kids even if they do not always demonstrate that essential and eternal truth…
