I found the interview 34 minutes into the program on the link provided by enenews above.

The interview is completely scientific.
Jay, it is obvious that you didn't listen to even one word of the interview. I'll try to give some of the highlights later.

The CAUSE of the Mad-Cow Problem
Zoltan Cseko
“…The Chernobyl accident occurred 15 years ago, nevertheless the caesium-137 (half-life: 30 years) radionuclides and strontium-90 (half-life: 90 years) radionuclides could be the most likely candidates for causing the Mad-Cow Disease in cows and the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease in humans.
“The scientific community is unaware of these facts partly because they uninformed about the impacts of the Chernobyl accident partly because the British Government isn’t concerned to initiate these kind of research.
“ This can be featured by that fact that the unknown Mad-Cow Problem and Creutzfeldt-Jakob Problem was characterized by as a DISEASE instead of POISONING.
“However not a single fact shows that this problem is able to transfer itself from one animal or human to another animal or human (except by actually eating the poisoned animals).”

Health impacts in animals and humans of chronic exposure to low doses of radiation in Belarus
1. Consequences of the Chernobyl accident – Unwanted substances in the food chain
“The consequences of the Chernobyl accident on animal and human health in the contaminated areas are only partly documented. Most of the contamination is due to the radionuclide caesium-137 which emits ?- and ?-rays. After oral and parenteral application to rats, caesium-137 accumulates in organs, mainly in the kidneys and in the heart. In children of contaminated areas of Belarus, caesium-137 was found in several organs with the highest concentrations in the thyroid gland, the adrenal glands and the pancreas. The tissue concentrations of caesium-137 are three to five times higher in children when compared with values from adults of the same area. Caesium-137 accumulates in the placenta of pregnant women, which functions as a barrier, and is responsible for congenital malformations and still births. Chronic uptake of caesium-137 in organs leads to clear anatomical changes and to malfunctions in proportion to concentrations of the radionuclide. Malfunctions of the cardiovascular system are well described: high blood pressure, electrographic abnormalities, abnormal heart sounds, metabolic abnormalities and sudden death. Children originating from highly contaminated areas are more often and more severely sick.

“In carps and bank moles of the contaminated areas of Belarus, the extent of the genetic damages correlates with the received dose of radioactivity. A threshold was not identified in these two species. The frequency of mutation increases with the number of generations in the bank vole population of the contaminated areas. A higher frequency of several types of cancer was observed in humans after the Chernobyl accident, although most investigations demonstrated only a higher frequency of carcinomas of the thyroid gland in children of the highly contaminated areas….”

I agree this is not what I expect from ENENEWS very disappointed initially but everyone has their view thus I will remain open and true to myself.

You could try actually listening to the interview 34 minutes into the program. Prof. Steven Starr is the senior scientist for nuclear matters for Physicians for Social Responsibility. This is a really important interview (and nothing religious is even mentioned during the interview).

I did listen but felt like I was being preached to and fast forwarded to 31 minutes and was still hearing the end of the world gibberish. So I will try again and once again to each their own but I do apologize if I offended anyone. Thanks anne I will jump to 34 minutes in.

I had a hard time also finding the interview until I saw arclight's post on nuclear news that it is 34 minutes in. Maybe 34.5 minucles in.

Listen hard to what the man says and then make your mind up about it. It is strictly science (opinion or fact?) but some of the numbers are definitely not ones you will hear from the nuke industry so clearly they will try and dissuade you from listening.

I think it is an excellent interview.
One fact mentioned in the interview is that 34 assemblies contain enough cesium to make 5000 miles uninhabitable.
I think Dr. Starr was great, explicating what is known and what remains undisclosed.

He also said that Calloway nuclear generating station in MIssouri is that same type of NPP as melted down in Fukushima. The Calloway NPP was built to store 350 fuel assemblies, but is storing 1,700 fuel assemblies.

He also said that the spent fuel pools at Fermi NPP in Michigan are so hot, if they lost power, the water in the spent fuel pools would be boiling in just 4 hours.
Fermi 2
“Fermi 2 is a 1,098 net MWe General Electric boiling water reactor owned by DTE Energy and operated by subsidiary Detroit Edison. It was opened in January 1988 and is currently in operation.[6]
“On June 6, 2010 a tornado touched down and damaged the Fermi 2 generator building and forced an automatic shutdown. The tornados damaged electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure in the area leaving over 30,000 people without power in the area.[7] The plant is connected to two single-circuit 345 kV Transmission Lines and 3 120 kV lines. They are operated and maintained by ITC Transmission….”

Union of Concerned Scientists – NRC's Spent Fuel Pool Scoping Study
“Criticality: The current industry practice of high density storage in the spent fuel pools shifted protection against criticality in the pools from geometry to neutron absorbers and administrative controls. The low density storage racks maintained subcritical configurations largely through geometry-the spacing between fuel assemblies guarded against criticality. High density storage racks substituted neutron absorbers and administrative controls for geometry. Operating experience has shown neither to be as reliable as geometry.
“Just a few examples from the recent past include:…
“(b) The NRC issued a green finding for a November 2011 incident at Fermi Unit 2 where workers placed a spent fuel bundle into the wrong storage location in the spent fuel pool….”

He also said that the nuclear power plant doesn't generate electricity from the nuclear fuel. All they are doing is boiling water with the nuclear fuel.
