Title: Russian scientists find radiation off Fukushima coast
Source: RIA
Date: Sept 14, 2012
Russian scientists have detected radiation in the north-west of the Pacific Ocean at a distance between 500-800 km to the east from Japan’s troubled Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant.
The expedition of the Russian geographical society has detected that the concentration of cesium-137 in that area exceeds the norm 10 times.
This is the first time when concentration of cesium 137 was found in the local sea waters while the air is clean.

And what have we all on ENENEWS tried to tell the world? It is BAD in the North Atlantic from Fukushima fallout and dumping of radioactive products into the oceans/air/soil. Now rest of the world, specifically USA and Canada had better start testing the seafood, air and water..its a radioactive migration.
It is not time to ignore what is in front of our faces, Secretary Clinton! Please stop the Japanese food imports, and START the testing of seafood/crops on the West Coast USA(to start with).

This, Im afraid, is only the beginning…
What ever happened to the Tuna and the Seals that were being tested for radionuclides?
Did we ever get those results?
Report Comment
Hi TheWorldIsFüküd
I'm sure they have the results, but I don't think the public has them.
Report Comment
It's amazing how many studies disappear. It wouldn't have anything to do with funding being pulled, or career pressure being applied to the researchers. No, nothing like that.
Even Greenpeace, who did a landmark study on Fukushima, is now quiet. Nothing on the home page except Save the Arctic, Save the Polar Bears, Forest Destruction – nothing about Fukushima being the end of all life within the biosphere within a few lifetimes.
I guess it doesn't make for good fundraising.

Not a word since March 1, 2012:

We've even been abandoned by Greenpeace.

I mean in all honesty I dnt even know why i bothered asking. Obviously those seals had radiation poising. Lesions, lost hair patches, it doesnt take an underpaid, career pressured scientist to figure that one out.
And I bet that big a$$ Tuna they caught the other day is glowing in the dark right now, Im sure a quick scan with a geiger counter woulda made the thing chirp like crazy.
And damn even greenpeace bailed on us.
The World is definitely FUKUD

Hahahaha lololololo 18 months ago I woulda thought you we're psycho.

A reality check is what I had, make no mistake. An extinction level event is possibly occurring. Global radioactive contamination has been normalized, but not rationalized.

From page 3: "In addition, tissue samples have been collected for heavy metal, radionuclides (radiation), and persistent organic pollutant analysis. Results for these studies are pending and will be made available as soon as possible."
Translation: Results for these studies are alarming and will never be made available.

LOL
Tru dat bro
And if ever reported – under-reported
I need to buy a geiger counter…

The faucet is leaking into the ocean 24 hours a day fighting the radioactive fuel and with Mother Nature's underground water table coursing across the fuel… Who knows how bad it will get world wide just in the ocean contamination alone.
Let's see… The huge ocean that supposedly dilutes radiation into negligible amounts is now showing ten times "normal" levels far, far out in the open ocean.
The wizards of math and science at Berkeley should be able to compute the math and extrapolate backward to the source to figure out fairly accurately how much radiation is being released into the ocean. I am sure the nucleocrats already have the numbers.
Maybe we know why so many boxes of ammo have sold to Homeland Security. Bad news can scare people and really bad news makes for civil unrest. Personally I think the nucleocrats are just paranoid. Even assuming an On the Beach scenario it is unlikely most citizens of the world will do anything but curl up and die quietly from contaminated food, water, and air.

No, we have to go through Cormac McCarthy's 'The Road' first:

It is going to be quite horrific.

Great movie also (The Road). Saw it on TV Wednesday night. The cannibals, suicides, and people struggling to eat… Robert Duvall was great in his small role.

Correct again SP.
…and keeping the 'unknown' cool for an 'unknown' period of time, while the ocean/'the toilet of death' continues to SPREAD it's way globally.
(Unknown X) x (Unknown Y) = Fukushima Daiichi
Praying (in my own way) for a miracle.
Hoping, for at least the Truth to be told.

USA TODAY celebrated their 30th anniversary today and included a projection of 30 years going forward in today's issue, including an article revolving around an Urban Planner's projections. Some highlighted statements included in that article that jumped out:
“Duany believes that soon, Americans — despite their inveterate optimism — will realize they're in a pickle. Energy costs aren't coming down and personal incomes aren't going up; global warming won't be stopped; government is impoverished; civil unrest is not out of the question.”
“When Americans finally face the effects of global warming”
“when things start to fall apart”
“…agrarian urbanism … (will) appeal…to survivalists who want to be living in a self-sufficient community when things start to fall apart.”
“Mormons spent up to a year studying a potential town site, testing soil, wind and water….he says placemakers of the future — when land will be relatively cheap and money tight — should take note.”
Report Comment
What about the 'hyperinflation' some people are concerned with? Is the USA TODAY Urban Planner seeing deflation, "when land will be relatively cheap"…even with "money (being) tight"??!?!?

They do. But most fail to admit and continue to take the world over the cliff.

As constantly spoken here, the events as predicted are happening. Continuously the ever cascading, ever increasing effects of the man mad disaster are realized. We cannot co exist with nuclear energy. Im sitting, watching the butter fly, domino effect. Just prepare yourself and your loved ones.

Most here understand what has happened, but so many don't know, or some don't want to know, so they can live blissfully in ignorance.
We have lived with radiation, but this time I believe things have gone to far.
Personally I choose to live the best I can, this does not mean I am blissfully happy. Words cannot describe the pain I feel for this world and for the generations.
We need to end Nuclear Power and Nuclear Weapons. I don't believe ending this, will make things right, but it's a start.
What has and what keeps coming through the jet stream, we will be stuck with for a very long time.

Oh hey guys remember that time I said that radioactive contamination would spread 500km? I was wrong. In fact I was 300km off. So in hindsight it would be fair to say the dead zone now extends 800km. Fun stuff. At least people are taking it seriously that this disaster is far greater in scope that anyone imagined.

this is possibly good news for Japan, Russia just might give them the contested Kuril Islands after all if they are as uninhabitable as Honshu.

500 to 800 kilometers (800 130 miles) – that is pretty far away for substances to travel. Thinking of the large amounts of water to dilute.
They stopped the nuclear tests because of radiation became too much in the air. But to contaminate water is quite a difference.
I have never heard of water being contaminated by radioactivity this far before.
Report Comment
Correction: 500 – 800 km equals to 300 – 500 miles.
Report Comment
The reason most radiation is airborne is due to the way it was tested. Fukushima is unique because the amount of contamination in the air is enough to show up in water hundreds of miles away. The gas clusters break down as air carries them and turn into different isotopes. By the time it reached the west coast in the first month of the accident it showed up as Sulfur 35.
