Title: Real Time with Bill Maher: Ep 293
Source: HBO
Date: Sept. 13, 2013

At 5:25 in

Location of simulated plume in April 2014: “Waters with Cs-137 concentrations above 10 Bq/m3 are projected to reach… the Hawaiian archipelago by early 2014.” — Hawaii located inside black square (Rossi, et al, 2013)

Bill Maher: To catch us up on the ongoing radioactive dangers in Japan that will be coming to a beach near you, he’s the coauthor of the upcoming book ‘Fukushima: The Story of a Nuclear Disaster‘ and a senior scientist with the Union of Concerned Scientists’ Global Security Program, Dr. Edwin Lyman. [...]Maher: I go to Hawaii every year for New Year’s Eve [...] and I swim in the ocean [...] People tell me I should not swim in the ocean in Hawaii.

Dr. Edwin Lyman, Senior scientist with The Union of Concerned Scientists, doctorate in physics from Cornell U. and postdoctoral research associate at Princeton U.: [...] Hawaii’s not even on a direct path. So this year’s ok, in 2015 I’d be worried about it.

Maher: I don’t know if you’re trying to be funny — I don’t think so, so you’re kind of scaring the s*** out of me.

Obama already didn't allow his family to swim last christmas, then released one photo of him swimming to make it look like he swam… but later turns out the photo was from the previous christmas.

Thanks bo and eyechix, great link.

I wondered if the girls even made it to Hawaii. The only picture of them I have seen is walking out of the plane which could have been taken anywhere/anytime. Wouldn't they want to get shaved ice?

I've always said that those girls are the best geiger counters around, when they are in the Southern Hemisphere, you should be, too. I would feel better if there was some documentation that they actually were in Hawaii.

I've noticed people on this site have a very strong conspiracy theory anti-Obama thing going.

He left Hawaii early to deal with the fiscal cliff, which was quite important. If he hadn't left early he would have been criticized for that too. Michelle and the girls stayed until Jan 6.

Of course there is documentation. The Obamas were at Anderson Hall at the Marine Corps Base in Hawaii, visiting with members of the military and their families on Tuesday Dec 25th, 2012.

I can't even believe I'm debating this this you. It's like the birther nonsense.

And obviously a lot here on enenews are anti Obama.
Has he done or even said anything about fukushima in the past 2.5 years other than to say it's all safe?

Of course, it's all just speculation. Radchick never says it's anything more than speculation either. The fact that a ten day vacation in hawaii would be spent in restaurants and not a single dip in the water was just interesting.

bo, a little reality check: Radchick (Christina Consolo) seemed sure that a tear-choked father of one of the little girls who was killed in Connecticut at the elementary school mass shooting was either an actor or a CIA plant. That it was all one grand plot to take away people's assault weapons, which is apparently their God-given patriotic right. It's a libertarian mantra. But the poor man was really the girl's father and heartbroken.

On the other hand, Radchick seems to be quite good with nuclear issues.

With Obama, progressive Dems are heartsick at the betrayals, but also revolted by the birther nonsense. It's possible to feel all those different ways.

What was telling is that when the plume first came in from Fukushima, Obama suddenly took his family to South America while he did not even warn Americans to stay in out of the rain. And Gina McCarthy, Office of Radiation Monitoring, got PROMOTED to head of EPA, when she was the one who had turned the warning monitors off!

But "President Romney" might have done even worse, for all we know. Our problems now are so corporate and global, that the only ones we can seem to support are the activists. And just hope and pray that they are not also gun-happy freaks who think that the law of the jungle trumps any attempt at governing at all.

REALLY rough times to be in America. Whoever has the answers, please tell us!

I was in Rio when President Obama announced his trip, it was not planned. Most international trips have a well planned agenda, this agenda was put together quickly and with a lot of changes. I might add that the number of SUVs that were part of his entourage was incredible.
They moved very quickly through the streets but even so you had to wait 15 minutes or more for all of the cars to pass. I don't know if that's usually the way he travels or he had taken a lot of folks with him.

                • I take issue with the phrase " gun-happy freaks ".

It is a fact that Communist Russia and Cuba took the guns away from their people. Hitler disarmed the Jews before rounding them up to be gassed. Its a fact the forefathers of your country put in place the right to bear arms based on their experience with British tyranny which included disallowing peasants to own swords, the weapon of choice before modern firearms. The right to bear arms is part of the checks and balances put in place to preserve democracy. I read the above thread WNTF. The discussion revolved around Obama's dismal performance. WNTF decided to insert anti-gun propaganda. I will not tolerate this site being used to promote an off topic subject. Further, owning, collecting and firing a firearm is a legal pass time in Canada, Australia, the USA and others. I never bring up the hobby of firearms. However I have friends who own guns who are responsible people and I take offense that you would describe law abiding citizens as gun-happy freaks. As far as the shootings go US healthcare is poor and mental healthcare even poorer. More effort towards funding for mental health would go further then well meaning mis-guided efforts to take firearms from law abiding citizens.

The US Nuclear Cabal wants Kenya's business.

Thus, Kenya has embarked on a programme to see the country generate 1 GW (1,000 MW) from Nuclear sources between 2020 – 2022. By 2030 Kenya is slated to have installed capacity of 4 GW of Nuclear energy, generating about 19% of Kenya's energy needs. Meaning that Nuclear Power will be the second largest source of energy in Kenya coming only second after Geothermal Energy which is also a clean form of energy.

                    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_energy_in_Kenya

The trip to Africa was a working vacation, even though he didn't go to Kenya. Too much controversy.

Even a casual galnce at that plume simulation above shows the most concentrated parts of the plume at the West Coast before Hawaii catches the edge of the plume. Hawaii gets the full deluge on the return trip. More disinformation to stall the financial effects to the West Coast next spring. Your response is carefully and craftily being delayed…
Some of that plume has already arrived. You have seen the suffering of the seals, fish and polar bears already. The very front edge is already lapping at our shores…
We really need efforts from those who have the capability to test seawater, who are not on the payroll…

The Union of Concerned Scientists is not Anti-Nuclear, they just want safer nuclear.
And they found a way to make a buck off of Fukushima…

Sad… Fukushima exposure to the masses, for all the wrong reasons…

  • NEWS FROM CANADA – THOUSANDS OF SONGBIRDS KILLED AT GAS PLANT IN NOVA SCOTIA

About 7,500 songbirds, possibly including some endangered species, were killed while flying over a gas plant in Saint John late last week, officials have confirmed.

It appears the migrating birds flew into the gas flare at Canaport LNG between Friday night and Saturday morning, said the company's health, safety, security and environmental manager.

The birds were drawn to the flame like moths. They got burned as they circled around.

The weather conditions were foggy and overcast at the time, which may have contributed to the incident.

  • Tracy W, thank Irving Oil for that. Instead of installing the necessary equipment to properly control the flow of natural gas, they simply burn the excess off. No need to spend money. They into allkinds of things. Worked for them once. A cheap company for sure. TepGov seems similar.
