From that angle the view is against the sea, so those white things are waves. It's a bit disorienting to be sure.

@guezilla, I doubt you are right. The camera is nearly exactly at the hight of the flat roof of the building in the foreground. There shouldn't be any ocean water above that line of sight outgoing from the camera through the top of that roof…unless the ocean took on the shape of a 500 meters high wall. In that case, they wouldn't be looking only for there whereabouts of the coriums by now, but also for the whereabouts of the reactor buildings – that is, if there was anyone left who can do the looking for.

After remembering the ocean wave caps in earlier videos I am inclined to agree with gz. At 20x speed the color and distribution look like things only in the ocean. See any specks on land?

I hardly ever watched those videos and am not sure about my above conclusions. If the camera is shooting the nuclear complex from a great distance, maybe a few kilometres, then the strange vertical sea-wall impression could make sense. No white specks on land or in the foreground, I already realised that. Otherwise I would have suspected radioactivity is causing picture artefacts. Thanks for your input, Sickputer!

that is a scary amount of 'snow' on the TBS cam…I've not been following the Webcam discussion thread…anyone with a quick comment or good links to refresh my memory of how radiation affects the CCD imaging plate/disc?

Probably from the wierd and terrible things the corium is doing underground at Fukushima.
Poterblog is reporting .174 m sv/hr from thunderstorms yesterday in St. louis:

Observe and be aware.
Start teaching your children and grandchildren the steps of radiation mitigation. Their futures may depend on it.
While you're at it, don't forget to tell them why and who is responsible for causing the harm, suffering and death to untold numbers of living things.
Levels are ever so slowly increasing as the fallout circles the globe and accumulates throughout our biosphere. They most certainly are NOT DECREASING and most likely will continue to INCREASE until we demolish and decommission all nuclear power plants worldwide.

Scary.Swirling mass of red/yellow radiation shows under the tent of R1 and 2. While the wind is blowing from the north, making waves on the ocean side, it also is blowing the smoke/emissions from around reactor 1 area. Just tilt the computer screen and look up at the video while watching, you will see the front edge of the reactor 1 tent showing something moving on the edges..I hate to say what is inside the tent coverings..but red/yellow swirling stuff cant be safe….
Note the little busy crane going back and forth during all this at Reactor 3/4 area. Poor crane workers..even remote ones…Good video capture ENENEWSers!

I think this early morning nuckelchen compilation split screen video of the 18th 'may' be related.
LARGE PLUME of smoke can be easily seen at 1:04 in the morning.

There are things 'popping' and 'sparking' throughout this video.
Observation: The build up of 'static' above the reactors coincides with the strong flashes. Never seen it quite this intensity level.

Reminds me of the story line… "my wifes cooking improved when she realized the smoke alarm wasn't just a timer." Already to high radiation for the workers in the area, no change in that — but the fire-fighters attempting to work in that environment. Then electrical damage to what controls? Who will go to repair? What essential safety controls no longer will work? When can it be expected to be brought back in service(cooling, circulation etc) and just for curisoty, How much worse can/will it get?
