Emissions not 'large'…. uh huh, I agree, they were tiny, tiny, tiny particles of very HOT nuclear radiation, amounting to MASSIVE amounts of life destroying stuff.

Fuel damage not 'major'… uh huh, I agree, No armed military was present as the fuel rods melted down, especially not Majors, or Generals, or Commandants.

Oh, it is so nice to have a bit of fresh air and truth telling for a change.. Thank GOOOODDDDD for this news.. Now I know who to trust and listen to…

What was the Total Amount Of Fukushima Radiation Released Into Ocean, Air, Groundwater, Storage Tanks, etc?

This is what scientists should be working on, rather than minimizing what happened and justifying how little radiation was released with bafflegab.

Reactors 5 and 6–hey aren't those the reactors whose smoke and "clouds" have to be covered up on TEPCO webcam? The location south of Fukushima 1 where TEPCO puts up bright lights facing the cameras so night activities at 5 & 6 can't be seen? And isn't this the same nuclear plant which had lots of firetrucks and buses of workers streaming in ==captured by our Nuckelchen –until the webcam was turned off again..

Sure everything is JUST FINE. You can trust TEPCO and the government. And now I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale…..

@Whoopie: BTW. I noticed someone posted a comment that trivialized the significance of the blue water being found in Minamisoma. The following morning, it was gone. Now, I'm not one for censorship, but in truth, I was actually glad that admin deleted it. I'm also glad that people out here are shrewd enough to spot nefarious posts. However reported it to admin did the right thing. I don't agree with some of what's put out here at times, but I sure as hell don't care for those who think they can make light of this tragedy…

I noticed that my posts were gone. I do not believe that I trivialized it as I have actual experience purifying water in an operation with radioactive materials. My statement was that it was possible that it was an algae that got into the water system after the earthquake/tsunami and that the algae (many of which glow the same color as some of the nuclear waste that I have worked with) could produce the glow or could be excited by radiation in the water. Very few radionuclides could produce the cherenkov phenomena unless a reaction was taking place. Other radionuclides produce light only in the presence of a phosphor. Before we claim that the water glows in fukushima because of radiation, we should lay out all reasonable possibilities and investigate because if we are wrong the criminals will claim that we are crying wolf and will never let us get support to address the issues.

Tritium in quantities to produce that much light without a phosphor would probably be deadly as would other radionuclides. I would not make light of that. Deuterium in water is almost as deadly as it interferes with a cell's ability to divide but is not "hot".

Dear Majia; Only in the United States do people ask that question–mainly. The CIA's number one domestic role is information management–LYING to everyone or at least to the 99.99% who aren't billionaires. People from nations of the global south know what the CIA is for. It's only we Americans who are at first, just a little shocked and then, just dismiss, the entire idea of that an organization like the CIA exists to massage information and cause international terrorism for the goals of the already wealthiest. Never mind that 85% of the framing/content of all our media from http://www.pacifica.org (yes, DemocracyNow!) to CNN and GE owned MSNBC/NBC to Faux News (Fox) is the same framing and social construction to maintain a revolution free status quo against the better interests of the people as we suffer from irradiation from Fukushima, from anthropogenic thermal maximum and from related mass extinctions. Please at least study Chomsky's, Manufacturing Consent. Things are far worse than during the 1980s! Near monopoly ownership in corporatist states–only 5 corporations own all English language–means MSM media is absolutely censored. People from outside the U.S. and other economic center states don't wonder whether or not our "news" is even news or merely propaganda noise; they know that it's CIA generated noise to distract, dumb down and to control the masses, which U.S. masses hardly need to be encouraged to act in a docile/fascist manner considering our pathetic history and culture of kissing the asses of the wealthiest right back to the times of the Puritans and other earliest settlers in the formation of the original 13 Colonies. Study up on the Nathanial Bacon Rebellion of 1765. However, before that read up on the actual history of Jamestown. Of course, it's the wealthiest at the top of the system who are at fault; but as has ever since been,we never appropriately target they or credit their institutional methods of manipulation. Elephants in living room!

Who are some characters from the beginning in the U.S. you could analyze to see history repeating itself but with much more interesting and valuable, for lying, toys (technologies) in the present synchrony? Study Silas Deane and his "friend" Dr. Edward Bancroft. Americans and others who are bourgeois and uninformed about the level of crime found in our covert, military and wealthiest NG organizations, need study these things throughout history more closely. Why? Because as it stands now, ENE is being managed and quite effectively against most of this blog's participant's actual goals despite the blind faith of maybe most visitors and participants here. Our goals, I believe I'm not putting words in people's mouths now, are of bringing greater transparency to these matters of immediate importance on probably more than 20 nuclear reactors melted down. How could it be if we were getting any real information that we wouldn't know more than we do by now? It's not for lack of trying on any of our parts.

      So here are some facts.

The internet is a military tool, spoon fed to the people of the world. WWW is the World wide wiretap. It represents in military terms the single largest and most effective intelligence gathering tool known to man. When one uses the frog in boiling water analogy, it is quuite obvious the entire internet is that. It is a very slow process to users, however in military terms it has not even been two decades and they now have intelligence capacity people twenty years ago could only dream of in their wildest dreams.

Is ENENEWS a "HARD-Core Catcher," a dragnet for those who have ventured off the reserve unconvinced by the offical fairy tale? IT could be, in fact in many ways that is exactly what it is regardless of the affiliations and intent of the site owner/administrator.

This news, of 5 and 6 comes as surprise to many, even here. Well, imagine the surprise if we learn that say 25 reactors were hugely impacted and damaged by the EQ. That would be a real bomb would it not? Even though estimating that half of them would be impacted such a disaster is hardly a stretch. If you take yourself back to the time before the EQ and you heard that Japan and its 54 reactors was hammered by an EQ of this magnitude, would all your focus be on one of the 54? One of the very oldest whose infrastructure outwardly blew and coverup was impossible to undertake?

The point I am making, is that Fox Mulder was right, trust no one, do your own research. The internet has no truth hidden in any corner of it, does not have the last word anywhere no matter what search engine you use and is not a tool of the people.

It is in fact a tool of the military establishment, just like everything else, and the war has never ceased since the time of world war one, its only gotten a whole lot harder to fully grasp and the difference between civilian and service person barely distinguishable.

Dear Kevin: I agree very much with your first paragraph. "25" heavily effected nuclear reactors, probably all at least partially melted down or through after the 311 Tohoku quake or from previous quakes (2007 Kashiwazaki Kariwa) doesn't at all sound unreasonable. I think you're spot on there, as well. Furthermore, definitely, I re-assert that ENE is CIA and is about containing the matter within limits the power elite and nuke establishment arrogantly, as traitors most criminal and murderous (themselves of course) to delimit. Notice the little bit of backtracking on abridging the reach of individual participants at this blog with the structure of participant comment on individual stories column on the right since a couple days before. I remember in the beginning, the snippets of our commentary for each head was about double that. We were made calm and docile about that abridgment quick enough.

Kevin manipulations are incremental. I've been analyzing these sorts of things for decades. Read everything by Chomsky and Lakoff, at the very least to get an idea of the level of sophistication of information management. Lakoff is not as much analyzing media styles or targetting controlling organizations; but is quite clear and good on the science of such things, nonetheless. Also read, "Entertaining Ourselves to Death" by the late Neil Postman. Modern U.S. citizens are intensely naive, sand some bourgeois from other nations as we can see by Bread's comment, are increasingly naive about such realities. Often they believe that if they wouldn't do it, they can't imagine others being so manipulative, underhanded or cruel. This is irrelevent. Produce content that such as I describe is not the case.

              Regarding the latest accusation:

"I remember in the beginning, the snippets of our commentary for each head was about double that"

Interesting point considering I spent the last day reinstating the LATEST COMMENTS function after the major crash early in the week.

Before there was only 1 line of the comment excerpted in the sidebar. Now there are 2 lines. So it is actually the complete opposite of what is claimed.

This is the end of this discussion on this thread. As stated above, "Talk of ENENews being a CIA front will be limited to the discussion forum for nuclear issues." Your defensive response is understandable.

However claiming it is off topic is, in my opinion, not the case.

What your post sheds light on is how information regarding what was communicated as intact reactors are not in fact intact. Which implies that infromation is being managed, a fact we all know, to what extent, is unclear.

Therefor I think the topic is on topic and removing it or moderating comments and commenters works more against the administration of the site then for it.
