Title: City councilor to measure radiation in Mizumoto park the first was found dead
Source: Fukushima Diary
Date: Feb 24, 2012
Mr. Kabayama, a Tokyo city councilor of Liberal Democratic Party [...] was measuring radiation in various areas in Tokyo and posted it on his blog.
On 6/30/2011, he measured 0.25 microSv/h in Mizumoto Park. [...]
The next day, 7/1/2011 3AM, he was found dead with his head covered by a plastic bag.
Police thought it to be suicide for some reason.
[...] he sounded motivated to measure around in Tokyo. [...]

Strange that he would be bothering to measure radiation if he was suicidal. Seems to me that he would have blogged about it and left a final statement if he was upset enough to kill himself over the nuclear contamination. If he was upset enough over unrelated personal problems to kill himself that night, then why was he calmly measuring radiation just a few hours before then? It does NOT add up… it just doesn't pass the "sniff test".
Report Comment
This guy is a hero! The people of Japan should force the Yakuza to clean up Fukushima themselves and kill two birds with one stone. The Yakuza did this for sure. Read Barry Eisler's John Rain books for a fictional account of the Yakuza in Japan that is close to the truth.
Report Comment
I forgot to add above – the main character is an assassin who unknowlingly works for the Yakuza and his specialty is murders that are made to look accidental or like suicides, with the premise being the best way to cover up a hit is to make it seem like nothing untoward happened at all.
Report Comment
But then, not many "official statements" coming from Japan pass the sniff test these days. Next they'll say he was not actually dead… the instruments mustered have been faulty when they pronounced him dead. Maybe they can send high voltage down the coroner's spine to "test" him if he gives the "wrong" cause of death and blames radiation for future deaths. Just like the thermometer in reactor 2, a strong electric shock will make the doctors give a different answer, or just shut him up for good.

Should say "must" not "mustered"….. stupid phone

Permanent abandonment of Tokyo will be a very big deal, indeed. Trillions of dollars US. It must be done, or die soon. Children should have been out of Tokyo before now. This is going to get pretty ugly. More resignations from government and Tepco are coming. Can they outlaw geiger counters?
Report Comment
PPPN sez:Can they outlaw geiger counters?
Of course they can! They can also detain anyone they desire or have the yakuza intercede if they need more muscle.
Most people understand they are in a bad place, but have few options.. Affluent folks will leave…others will stay to the bitter end.
Bioaccumulation of radiation is sorely underestimated at this juncture in time. By late summer they will have a better idea on the survivability of different geographic regions of Japan. Information is getting more mainstream every day.
Report Comment
"Can they outlaw geiger counters?"
Q: "What is a weapon?"
A: "Any device, if government declares it is."
h.
Report Comment
Indeed those Geigers are weapons creating unwarranted fear among the Japanese and this is causing all sort of non-smiles and therefore disease, anyone caught using a Geiger is an enemy of the State, practicing crimes against humanity.
When Geigers are outlawed only outlaws will have Geigers.

0.25 microsieverts is not very high. I eat more than that for breakfast in Los Angeles every day. Did this guy get higher readings elsewhere?

How can you hold a plastic bag closed on your head as you are dying? Sounds like that would be hard to do, wouldn't you pass out first? Isn't there easier ways to off yourself?
Hard for me to believe he did that to himself.
Report Comment
exactly… As soon as he lost consciousness his grip on the bag would have let go. Now if he added a few laps of duct tape to seal the deal that would be different but the story does not say how said bag was applied.
Report Comment
Agreed BUT someone could have put it on his head and held him until aspiration occurred. Believing or maybe spin-press-releasing they found someone who looks like a suicide…. next story. That I believe is more likely than suicide by glad bag.

meh…the entire thing smells like fish to me…

I still don't believe it, this is why water boarding was considered to be so effective. Think about the Muslim who is willing to martyr himself, but when subjected to water boarding they break down and give in. Same with attempted self inflicted asphyxiation. No matter how determined one might be to use this to commit suicide the body's defense mechanisms kick in to counter the loss of oxygen to the system. He would have instinctively torn at the plastic bag in order to get air.
Report Comment
Maybe that's exactly what it's suppose to smell like….subtle scare tactics. Here's a fellow who used his geiger counter…now he's dead in a very suspicious way…you connected the dots.
Report Comment
Exactly.
Report Comment
Personally, I have never heard of anyone successfully using this method by itself. There is an automatic body response to start breathing fresh air again, causing a person to rip the bag open or take it off the head.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_methods
If he also took drugs or had a gas inserted into the bag to cause him to go to sleep, that would make sense from a suicide point of view.
But then the autopsy would discover that, or the police would see the other equipment needed to make this happen. The pieces do not fit.
Just using a plastic bag over the head is the method preferred by cold blooded assassins, who hold your arms, while duct taping the bag to your head, or just holding the bag tightly until you expire.

Can they outlaw geiger counters?
'They' can do anything 'they' want, under conditions of 'national emergency.' They just are having to factor in public reaction – don't want to 'tip their hand' too blatantly and create a situation of explosive public ire that would be expensive and a bore to have to deal with…
Sheesh! These peons – don't like being slaughtered for some reason (and on their own dime!) – what a royal pain they are…

I'm surprised he didn't try to rape himself and then shoot himself to death …

I can't wait til one of these guys who, before committing "suicide", TELL EVERYTHING THEY KNOW. He didn't kill himself, no way no how. Maybe he WAS gonna spill the beans…ummm?

OMG lol!!! Outrageous!
Report Comment
Like the other guy who managed to "commit suicide" with a shotgun to the chest. Can't wait 'til the next guy is found face down with 17 stab wounds in his back is definitively declared a suicide with no further investigation of any sort.
Report Comment
Yea, a shotgun blast while INSIDE a car, and gun found OUTSIDE the car..
Imagine the mental and physical gymnastics that the police had to make in order to make that one possible as a suicide..
Yes your honor, he held the gun to his head with the window open, and then stretched both his arms out the window 4 feet, holding the shotgun with one hand and pulling the trigger with another, (he managed to dislocate one arm to make this happen) thereby blowing his brains out the other window.
Then he dropped the gun a couple of feet away from the window of the car, as he slowly expired.
There is no other explanation other than suicide, cause no one came in to confess to this as a murder.
No investigation is planned. Case closed.
Now if we treated all deaths the same way, we could just get rid of all of the murder detectives. Just call them all suicide and close the files..
What a great idea to save money…
Report Comment
There was also the case of the older man in the Fukushima area who was going around taking geiger counter readings, carried a shotgun with him, and was found dead, killed by his own gun.
I agree this is 'a word to the wise,' Mafia-style.

So much information can be contained in such a small incident or event. This really tells us all we need to know about TPTB, and not just in Japan, and not just at this moment in history.
Problem is, most of us just don't want to know it. Too devastating.

EVERYONE gets to share in this radiation. The Yakuza will also. Once they start getting ill and dying..can you say a mad hornet? The assassins will not like the idea of dying painfully from the radiation they have gotten from TEPCO and Japanese mis-information. If I was involved in any coverups, which are known about, would be hiding from Yakuza when the shit hits the fan. Wonder if government or TEPCO officials will start dying due to "strange" plastic bag disease?

If this person was trying to make a statement in his death he would have chosen Seppuku as the means to do it. There wasn't a reason for him to feel ashamed about the information he wasn't trying to get out. It was an honorable thing to do, for his own family and the rest of Japan, so IF he had committed suicide he would have done it honorably.

@jec, re trying to save/keep alive future work force -
First, this is not (or not all) according to some grand plan. The world is not under total elite control. The elites do have short, middle, and long range plans; but they also are cooperating/ competing among/against each other to 'get there first' and make the most money – and the environment and the people be damned.
That is one thing this Fuk. disaster, upon examination, has clearly proven. They have long-range plans, they do cooperate, but they also are winging it, and do compete – and do play a very reckless game. OBVIOUSLY – at this point. I mean we seem to be sitting on the cusp of a big fat extinction event – and that is pretty damn reckless, any way you cut the cake.
And second, the elites think there are many millions too many of us 'useless eaters' on the planet and they want to thin the human herds and have been talking among themselves about this (and about how to do it) for decades.
They do not need a big work force. Increasingly robotics, automation, and nano-technology are replacing human workers. And the elites are very rich and have plenty of wealth and now it makes more sense to get rid of some of the excess human population – will make managing the 'human herds' a lot easier and permit 're-wilding' of portions of the globe – for the elites' exclusive use and enjoyment, of course.
I am not speculating, these are some of their long range goals. There are books and websites that discuss all of this.
These guys truly are a cold-blooded lot… but really, looking at the horrible wars of the past century – well, there is all the proof we need of how little human life and suffering matter to the elites in control of our governments and other centers of power.
Again I will say that their greatest defense and protection is OUR refusal to face/confront these scary facts that are staring us in the face.

Dear Bleep: Some of what you say is true. What is not true is the implication that there are good people at the top in functional or structural terms, which are not your words; but are implied when you mislead (surely unintentionally–please forgive my rant; it's not personal and is not a value judgement on you in any way–just inspired to rant a bit) to highlight the competition within the dominating power elite class against each other (actually this internecine competition is less and less as fascism worsens (dissent is not tolerated) or globalization intensifies, which is inevitable structurally when such fascism (corporatism is the core of fascism) grows proportionately greater and essentially unchallenged in any meaningful way by those of us who, aside from electronic shell games in the finance industry, generate all value–the 99.99%! What ought be emphasized rather because the masses in the U.S., at the least, have never been swift about this fact is that the billionaires ARE in absolute unity whatever quibbles, functionally and in systems terms (proportionately and in outcomes), against the remaining 99.99% as a class. We are hosts for their parasitism in nearly every sense of the term "parasitism". Is it A conspiracy? Who gives a shit! Conspiracies are NOT the point. The POINT is the FACT that we are dominated absolutely in human socioeconomic terms, so far, by increasingly densely distorted (decreasingly transparent–U.S. MSM "no-news-news" as an example during the worst human caused cataclysm EVER)hierarchical systems. The workers, are increasingly distracted in the U.S. by useless technological trinkets…unsustainably from an ecological and social justice P.O.V. Please do not contribute to minimization or misleading representations of the FACT that we do have enemies and they ARE the billionaires, the very richest. They are parasitizing everyone and we all had better wake up to this fact quick. Or, everything continually WORSENS quickly.

People will say that suicide is more of a cultural norm when things go badly for people in charge in Japan. I do not agree in this case. My intuition tells me that this is a CIA, or Japanese equivalent, hit, snuff or murder. Expect more and probably there have been many others that have been less obvious and have slipped under the radar or probably at lower levels that appear to be less newsworthy. It's all about reinforcing the unsustainable status quos. When are we going to hold the billionaire feet to the radioactive flame? We do live, by the assent of the 7B against the few hundred thousand (wealthiest the latter), in a society that is absolutely hierarchical in human systems. Why do other species and working humans, and no the richest are not "working" in the sense I imply, have to pay for their mistakes? The answer is, "we don't" if we so choose otherwise. Wake up!

This method is usually combined with sleeping pills to suppress the bodies natural survival reactions. Does anyone know if the news mentioned pills in his system? I would assume no mention considering that, "Autopsies are performed for the most part only when police suspect foul play…around 90 percent of "unnatural deaths" are not subject to postmortem examination…in sharp contrast to other developed countries…40 percent to 50 percent of cases of unnatural death [are examined], and where coroners, who act as independent forensic examiners, decide if such scrutiny is necessary.
