Toshio Yanagihara at the United Nations Human Rights Council, NGO Information Meeting: Today, together with my friends, I am here to ask you to think about the people, especially the children, who are trapped in high radiation areas after the nuclear accident at the Fuksuhima Daiichi plant.

Today I am here to request you take a significant step as the UN Human Rights Council to rescue these trapped people.

At 6:30 in

Yanagihara: Please take a look at this map of Koriyama City, [pop. 336,000] which is 60km from the [Fukushima Daiichi] nuclear plants […]

The red dots on this map indicate the equivalent radiation level of mandatory evacuation zone around Chernobyl.

If you apply the evacuation standard used in Chernobyl, most of the central part of the city would fall under the evacuation area, where the residents would be required to move out.

It is in this level of contamination that the children remain and attend school. (Chokes up)

i can not believe that in 2013, the world community is going to sit silently and watch as these beautiful children are slowly poisoned and die. where the hell is the outrage, why hasn't there been a plan to evacuate children (at the very least) in the event of a nuclear disaster? what the hell does the NRC do to earn the tax dollars we throw at it every year? there is a government agency that needs to be shut down for not doing the job it was created to do… yet, we can send the "troops" into mali, cause some male between the ages of 8 and 70, who might be "al cia duh" happens to be sitting on one of the worlds largest deposits of gold. so, in essence, the world is saying, "sorry kids, give us a call when you start shitting gold and we'll show you what great humanitarians we are!" sick sick sick. maybe it is time for the planet to have a massive acid rain douche. it will be better off without humans if this is our best effort. weak, disgraceful and criminal!
i really think we are witnessing the death of a race of people, the adults are so affected they are losing the ability to think rationally, ignoring the natural instinct to protect their young, and the rest of the world is watching like it's some twisted colosseum show. shame!

awesome rant gnomesang. Now, if each of those red dots was a yarmulke, they'd all be falling over each other to save these unfortunate souls. As it's going now, the IAEA, UN and any-other alphabet agency can go finger themselves for those gold nuggets…

"Now, if each of those red dots was a yarmulke, they'd all be falling over each other to save these unfortunate souls."

Not so much anymore, Aftershock. The Western powers – the only ones that 'might' care about the Jews – are switching sides and partnering with the Jihadi Muslim Brotherhood. The Jews are being pushed into complete isolation, surrounded by Islamic psychos that want them all dead, all courtesy of the US.

The BRIC's certainly don't give a damn, other than stealing their excellent technologies. Once it's all been purchased/stolen, they're in deep matzo.

I have many, many Jewish friends, and this is the worst outcome many of them could ever imagine.

Obama pushing real-time communication and interaction with Jihadi terrorists in our schools:

There's quite a bit in the article about Obama's lifelong connection to domestic terrorists and US Communists, but apparently that doesn't matter to anyone, so just ignore it.

not surprisingly, Time Is Short, you have it the other way around. All of your analysis is predicated on the myth that Zionists are victims of U.S. foreign policy. It's the other way around.

I will agree that "…Jews are being pushed into complete isolation", but not by Muslims. Jews are becoming isolated by Zionist's machinations. And not unlike the WASP supremacist that dominated the 19th century world, Jews have fallen victim to their own propaganda.

It's reassuring to know that those Jews that you're in personal contact with, are panicked by a perceived loss of control. Fact is, they never had control of this world. Hopefully (for their own sake), they'll begin the process of dismantling the ideology of Jewish Supremacism and begin their return to the family of humankind. In doing so, we can all put down our swords and begin the process of moving forward. Doubtless you're aware, there's little time left to do so.

Nature (the true one) will rollover humans as quickly as was done with our reptilian predecessors. If any of us is to survive the stupidity of our reckless treatment of this planet, then we must abandon – all – concepts of self-righteousness. Other than what we bring forth into this world and what we do to protect what's left of it, no one should think or believe they're better than any other. That includes those who compose sonnets to themselves…

Part of the problem is that the rest of the world is not watching, at least in terms of the bulk of ordinary folks.

They/we are not being shown this "show".

From the start, media coverage of this in my country was eye-opening by its' absence and that lack of coverage continues to this day.

There is much on the Internet, but it isn't necessarily seen if one isn't looking for it.

It is those well-visited sites that don't normally cover nuke issues that, on occassion, do mention Fuku, that have reminded or introduced some to this ongoing disaster.

I wonder if Fukushima really has a growing web presence and if it does, will awareness expand quickly enough to counter the dis-information or the fading with time of concern?

once you understand, or-well, that media's been co-opted to serve a select few, all these inconsistencies become obvious. While we were busy struggling to feed our kids, these people were quietly twiddling the knobs of social control. We can now look anywhere on this planet and find glaring injustices and disparities. The children of Fukushima are suffering because chaos is the coin of the realm. It's all about keeping us at odds with one another…

AFTERSHOCK, I'm not as naive as I may seem, but I admit the near total news blackout in Canada forced an irrevocable acknowledgement upon me that Big Brother had indeed gotten farther ahead of us than I had realised.
By any measure of what should be "news", Fuku was & is, and yet I found in sources as diverse as the "Times of Oman" stories that were not in my media.
While I welcome Yanagiharas' speech at the UN, I expect nothing to come of it but perhaps a few short paragraph mentions on back pages in MSM outlets here and there.
          See my post @ 11:06.

sorry, or-well, if I came across as being condescending. You're far from being a babe in the woods! And I agree, it's utterly depressing to witness the complete blackout that's being maintained over Fukushima. Funny thing is, like you, I'm discovering all kinds of cool sites that deal with issues that our masters refuse to address. It shows how the snake comes-back to consuming itself…

No prob, AS, gnomesangs' great questions brought to mind many issues, not least – where the hell is the outrage IN JAPAN…understanding the answer to that has been – and is – quite a learning process, one I think we need to approach from a number of directions, some, unfortunately, Off Topic in various thread contexts !
Time passes, Fuku awareness fades for some yet grows for others, J-Govs' hand seems to be strengthening but Natures' deck is stacked against them, but they think the Dealer works for the House…

with you on the outrage, or-well. Thing I find most entertaining is how the UN will attempt to justify their oversight of small-arms trafficking, while at the same time, turning a blind eye to the victims of nuclear power technologies! These people put the hype in hypocritical…

It is critically important information, Heart. However, it – is – completely off-topic to this article. Find me a relevant tie-in and I'll gladly move on. Otherwise, I'm attempting (as we all should) to honor the requests of the site administrators…

in truth Heart, I've long enjoyed your posts. We think alike on many things. But enough of the flowers; time to abandon this thread or we'll both be accused of being…OT…

              • Jebus Jebus

The relevant tie in is Uranium, the United Nations, and hypocrisy. Or should I say Uranium Nations. Whole countries mobilize under the guise of terror to "secure" (steal) resources from a people who just want to be free. This same UN abandons those who are victims of the same hypocrisy, leaving children with no future. There is no precious money to be made from helping the people of Japan secure their future from a vile despicible policy that leaves children to suffer a sealed fate. There is money to be made in raping North Africa. The UN is a criminal organisation along with the countries and corporations that promote these policies in the name of economics. If that is not On-Topic, nothing is.

your comments, jebus, do an excellent job of retrieving some relevance from the shadowfax post. My problem with the initiating post is with it's lack of context. Such eloquent development as you've submitted offers little reason for his going from Japan to Mali. You've demonstrated that it is possible; he never did. So, while your thoughts remain relevant to the subject at hand (UN denial of Fuku'd children of Japan), none of what the French are doing in Mali finds solid footing within this particular story…

BTW. If you're not already doing so, you'd do well representing others in a court of law…

                  • Jebus Jebus

lol, I'm just a dumb mechanic, but I object, on grounds that the big picture is opaque and connected. If the UN were to intervene in Japan, it would compromise the plans for the rest of the story. ie: Keeping the nuclear fires lit. I support this in the nuclear issues thread…

                    • AFTERSHOCK AFTERSHOCK

a mechanic, Jebus, but far from dumb. I do agree with your assertions to why the UN's been twiddling it's thumbs. Funny thing is, I used to support much of their work. Lately though (over the last ten years), I've come to realize they're a bunch of self-important poofters…

Let us look a the options, I would agree that wide swaths of Japan should be a no live zone, including Tokyo and should be evacuated immediately, Japan is a island can't go far, less the Russians sell them Sakhalin island etc.
Money is the root of all evil the more money involved the eviler it gets, at this stage we are talking genocide because the government of Japan is not willing and does not have the money required, to relocate 100 million people. I don't know why Japan is bankrupt anyway and it's economy was already shaky at the best, the sun was already setting on the Japanese empire.

"How Hillary Clinton ordered U.S. diplomats to spy on UN leaders."

"Top secret cables revealed that Mrs Clinton, the Secretary of State, even ordered diplomats to obtain DNA data – including iris scans and fingerprints – as well as credit card and frequent flier numbers.

All permanent members of the security council – including Russia, China, France and the UK – were targeted by the secret spying mission, as well as the Secretary General of the UN, Ban Ki-Moon.

Work schedules, email addresses, fax numbers, website identifiers and mobile numbers were also demanded by Washington.

The U.S. also wanted ‘biographic and biometric information on UN Security Council permanent representatives’.

The secret 'national human intelligence collection directive' was sent to embassies and consulates around the world."

The waste can not be safely stored for 50,000 years; Nuclear Energy depends on political stability for that period. It will not work out. The internationally recognized Peace Symbol was originally designed to bring attention to the British nuclear disarmament movement in 1958. We have been ignored and subverted for over 50 years, and still, we are not informed or respected, the obvious danger grows worse. Our nations must lead us out of this mess, not deceive us.

  • We Not They Finally

65 years of denial and deceit — that nuclear energy was EVER directed towards peaceful purposes — finally imploded at Fukushima, being WAY worse than Chernobyl, on the sea, nor does it ever end. And what does a whole planet do if even snapping OUT of denial, gives no way to reverse or fix this? But if there is not even mercy to rescue those being genocided by their own government as we speak, by what measure do we call ourselves "human"? What happens if/when people start dropping in the streets? What happens when every other child is born deformed (as is even WORSE now in Fallujah due to the depleted uranium weapons used there)? THEN can we start acting like humans? Then, whether or not it can spare our bodies, can it at least redeem our souls?

    • gnomesang gnomesang

we not they finally, i agree, modern man calls these peoples who live in the rain forrest or outbacks, savages, they think we are so civilized… thousands of years these people have lived in harmony with the planet, having lovely lives. religion, modern man, technology…civilization. we sure made a mess of things. i am just heartbroken. these children being affected in fukushima are the innocents. yet they are suffering the most. we have to somehow save them or at least greatly lessen the continued damage they are exposed to. i have no idea where to start, but i feel i have to do something.

  • Sol Man

WWNTF:If we find that there is no way to reverse this we must meet our fate gracefully; for nothing will change otherwise.
Under the circumstance anybody would doubt any measure that we claim to call ourselves "human," perhaps more accurate may be "struggling corporate-mandate victims."

For the people that drop in the streets, the struggle is over for them and the world is diminished by the absence of their light, love and potential. Sadness for their family and friends that are still here. And, according to a blogger here at ene hundreds or thousands are suffering this fate in Japan and it is scarcely being reported. She took it on her own to translate tweets and share them as people's lives unwound. Did you see that= I think it was in yesterdays articles?

Don't know how to respond to your question on du and Fallujah. It is a crime too hideous to contemplate and yet there it is, and is probably happening in all of the various areas of action.

Soul-redemption is hardly debatable at this point, at least for those that have inflicted this upon the world.
