All N-fuel may have fallen to outer vessel / TEPCO: Up to 68 tons likely melted in No. 1 reactor, eroding concrete of containment unit, The Yomiuri Shimbun, Dec. 2, 2011:

[...] The nuclear fuel at the No. 1 reactor melted as its temperature reached nearly 3,000 C at one time, TEPCO estimated. In the No. 1 reactor, TEPCO believes, almost all of the about 68 tons of fuel melted. [...]

Only 37 centimeters of concrete remains between the fuel and the vessel’s outermost steel wall in the most damaged area, TEPCO said.

Without water, the No. 1 reactor’s fuel temperature was more than high enough to have melted everything inside the pressure vessel, not only the fuel itself but also the fuel control rods, the utility said.

TEPCO currently maintains a steady supply of water to the three reactors, enabling the No. 1 reactor to always have about 40 centimeters of cool water at the bottom of the containment vessel, enough to cover the melted fuel, according to the utility. [...]

How much good can that do if you have a 68 ton blob (especially one that is 3000 c). Even if water could cool metal of that temperature, it can only touch (and therefore only cool) the outermost surface of a portion of the blob.

By stunning coincidence this is also the same amount of BS they’ve shoveled since
The crisis began. Oh, and pouring water on top of Blob might cool about the top
2 cm, leaving about 67.8 tons of fiery melting death. TepScum.

TEPCO covers the corium with water to safely put out atomic fire.

TEPCO poisons the largest ocean on our tiny planet in the process, poisons the air of three other continents with 100 times Chernobyl contamination.

TEPCO does nothing requiring human intelligence or even 1980s technology to stop this catastrophe.

TEPCO LIES over 200 times before FukU melt-throughs in order to keep defective cracked reactors raking in the proFits.

TEPCO gets the U.S. And Europe to downplay the facts and blackout the MSM.

TEPCO: A band of crazed sociopathic murdering Capitalist Copycats, bringing suffering and depopulation to an overcrowded city near you!

This is SICK SICK SICK 68 tons probably needs a zero added tothe end because these are TEPCO numbers, but this is a huge amount to have uncontrolled…

But TEPCO deeply apologizes from the bottom of their cesium filled hearts (while they choke down a rare Kobe steak with A bottle of 60 y.o. Sake)

This will go down in history as “The Japan Syndrome”

Good list, except you will find that TEPCO is controlled by the corrupt British elite, the very same people that installed those reactors, on a fault line, in a tsunami zone, less than 50 miles away from one another, knowing damn well someday it would come unglued sending plumes of radiation toward the USA.

Anything to stay in power, even genocide. That is the motto of most world governments these days.

Ok, so,,, partly speechless at what has come out and what’s bring reported all of a sudden, but all of this we have known months ago,, what credit do we get?? Nice pat on the back
All of this happened since the takeover of tepco? The new boss wants to save his ass in a way, he might of read some of these posts who want tepscum hung up high for all to see, even it’s admitted now it’s far too late, will there be outcry? I guess foreign people will understand and switch of first an the Japanese will still think and say “I’m fine because I don’t live in Fukushima and the earthquake has gone” and “what’s danger in Japan? Earthquake? Yeah we get many of them”
Next stage will be interesting as we all screamed for the evacuation of Tokyo months ago,, it can’t and probably won’t happen, the economy needs Japan not to collapse, although it will eventuate,
part of me feels ripped out as I’ve tried to warn so many people especially Japanese about what’s unfolding here , this is a global ELE event :(

my feeling is that this new info is coming out now because soon they will not be able to hide the fact that the fuel melted out. someone with
a longer attention span than I should make a time line of when facts where discovered and when tepco admitted to them. I think we can demonstrate a pattern of them coming out with info right about the time they can no long hide behind plausible deniability. so when they come out an say that there is a possibily of a massive explosion, get you lawn chair ready.

The water is not going to help at all. Sand could not cool Chernobyl for 25 years water sure as hell won’t help cool reactor cores they can’t even find. You can’t cool something you can barely prove is where you say it is…Science is about facts and TEPCO is now face to face with reality. I hope they are squirming because that media campaign of deception only made them look worse.

You should all know by now that if TepCo states something you should multiply by two. So using the number TepCo provided (68 tons) and using some inverse division, the real number of tons melting is 136 tons.

Most of the blob is embedded in the concrete with less surface area exposed to cooling water and that means the blob heats up and speeds up. The fact that cooling water is cool is actually a bad sign. Punch through is imminent and they can stop playing with the water and build a relief well to vent the pressure buildup.

If something bad’s happening that would imply TEPCO “running for the hills”-then it can be assumed whatever’s in those crap piles will be going belly-up pretty damned soon after the FUKuD up gear we been focusing on chases them away from the controls!?? This is crazy making! This has been going on for months and no news until the complete melt thru is eminent? Where have all the pro nuke supporters been when this was happening? If you read the NRC time line, they mention workers were scavanging car batteries to turn valves. Why is there never a plan to stop a total melt down? Oh that’s right it will never happen, see its not on TV so it must not exist. I feel so bad for the people of Japan they deserve a better government that would protect them instead of protecting Tepco.

Um, How many times did they have to run the simulation, run, tweek, run, to get the results that they wanted?

We all know that the fuel melted down in #1 within the first two days of the disaster.

    http://www.stratfor.com/analysis/20110312-red-alert-nuclear-meltdown-quake-damaged-japanese-plant?utm_source=redalert&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=110312%284%29&utm_content=readmore&elq=d069624ee7394c6d95bed6aab634bf54

That leaves almost 10 months for the corium sitting on that possibly cracked foundation pad to eat through the concrete.

If it was 3000 degrees when it melted down and hit that outer containment, after burning through the stainless pressure vessel, then it did not take long to eat through the concrete.

This “new” info is just getting everyone ready for the “REVELATION” that Tepco has just “discovered” that the corium has left the building.

This is not an ELE in my opinion, Just very bad for Japan, very bad for the ones who get the revolver with the bullet in line with the barrel, and very bad for life’s DNA.

We are getting there people, with help from the IDIOTS at Tepco, NRC, and our elected elite, I hope to be celebrating the END OF NUCLEAR in my lifetime…

There are also other near term developments, here on the west coast, that threaten our existance coming soon…

I will head over to the discussion thread to elaborate as much as I can…

The corium temperature is 5700F with, even basalt reinforced, concrete melting, vaporizing, burning, whatever at about 3000F, or less and most metal metal alloys at an equal or lower temperature (2000F over hours for structural steel) and I don’t think their purported steal containment (probably doesn’t exist folks) beneath the basement, can survive 5700F.

The recriticalities are getting worse, it’s getting hotter. It ain’t cooling off. All 3 of the coriums have probably melted thru into the ground, but they have still gotten concrete and steel imbedded in the mass of heating-up goop.

40 cm = 15 inches of cool water at the bottom of the containment vessel???? WTH??? Do you really think 15 inches of water will cool 68 tons of hot uranium? What a joke. The fuel is not in the containment – the control rods melted and the molten fuel would have run out the holes through which the control rods entered in the bottom. STUPID design.

It can all be cleaned up in a few weeks and disappears in several hundreds of thousands of years and only result in the deaths and suffering of millions of humans and other organisms.
