Whoopie, that’s worrisome. It likely possibly make it criminal for people to take their own readings, or for anyone outside the government to check levels. Reminds me of “we are the thought police.”
“You are no longer allowed to do anything to try to protect yourself.” IMHO, THAT is criminal!

“likely possibly”, now there’s Dept. of Redundancy Dept. at work!

If Japan does not know what is going on with their reactors in “cold shut down condition”, may be Russia knows:
Five Russian military aircraft — two Tu-95 strategic bombers, an A-50 airborne early warning and control plane, and two reconnaissance planes — flew over the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Japan off Hokkaido and the Tohoku region in northeastern Japan from around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the ministry.

TBS/JNN webcam video..captured images (look under) and see either the green glowing globs swirling around..or red blob..its at the edge near R3. It seems like it cycles..lots of swirling..then quiet..then again more swirling. And LAST time..smoke and LOTS of steam..so will be interesting to see if the cycle continues. If this the way its acting, its events, but steady and cyclical..no explosion. Just DRIP DRIP DRIP of radiation .Again no one knows..

Jec, would you please say where to find the recording of this (i.e., the green and red globs)? Will have a look over at the Webcam Forum. Thanks.

Every outrageous move like this, outlawing measurement of radionuclide levels, is clear evidence of how gravely serious the situation is.
The Japanese authorities really ‘have a tiger by the tail’ – but as most of us who follow the news at enenews know, it is not just a Japanese problem.
They, and TPTB in the rest of the world, are struggling to keep the powder keg of public rage from exploding.
Yes, HoTaters, of course the entire situation is saturated with criminal behavior and acts on the part of people in power – judge only by results. You use your power to do this much damage to this many innocent people – that’s criminal.
If the meek and whipped Japanese people ever in their desperation and rage finally break the bonds of their conditioning to be submissive to authority and follow orders ‘no matter what’ – heads could roll – literally – as indeed they should.
Huge crimes against humanity have been committed. But sad truth is, most people (and not just in Japan) have been conditioned to be such wimps and simpletons, that they really don’t know what to think until some authoritative talking head tells them what to think.

Hello jahdesm……
We face the same “blank stare” in US when we talk about Fukushima. No mention on TV, newspapers. We know it is the ongoing disaster that keeps on giving…..most people vaguely remember it as a small chapter in the Japanese earthquake/tsunami story at some time way back in 2011. Global economy “requires” it to be a fading memory.
