Reporter: [We] asked Tepco if they still believe nuclear plants are safe.
Tepco Spokesman: I can’t comment on that in this current situation.

HA! You bet no comment. I can think of a few but, most would be censured by admin.

My comment is a nod and a tip o the hat @Admin for relentlessly spreading the truth and awareness about Fukushima.
Read it all and you will see why.
And thank you DR. Wolman for the article.

It's all about money as you read the on goings between Chinese vs US solar panels, not much difference with Japan considering restarting nuke plants….

Why bother harvesting sun's rays for free when you can charge for many lifetimes of nuclear fallout misery.

Sunday Night at the Movies…
This is where we went wrong. We believed in the lie wooed to us.
We were lied to the same as the Japanese were (are being) lied to.

Thank you for this video; It is another piece in the incredulous puzzle of 'nuclear power' when trying to comprehend 'how and why' it got to the point of such horrific proportions.
The idea to sell the concepts of nuclear electrical plants for their great energy wealth potential was alluring, but they went head-long without critical crucial answers of how to handle the waste!
To sell the power plants for the potential to make helpful medical isotopes, playing with base sentimental emotions, as in the video, is disengenious at best. Medical isotopes could have been created in one or two research reactors. Multiple electric plants, with their outrageous toxic legacy, were not necessary. As I pointed out earlier, simple solar concentrator technology can meet all US household electrical needs:

There's "no such thing" as safe nuclear power. And it's not needed. At all.

Higher leukemia rate for A-bomb couples' children (on NHK!):
A team of scientists say people whose fathers and mothers were both survivors of the 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima have a higher rate of developing leukemia.
The Hiroshima University team announced the results of its survey on Sunday.
The team says their rate of developing leukemia is apparently higher than the rate for children with a mother or father who was an atomic bomb survivor.
Researchers have been looking into the possible genetic effects of radiation from the atomic bomb since the end of World War Two, but no one has confirmed if a connection exists.
Hiroshima University Professor Emeritus Nanao Kamada says it's too early to conclude that radiation from the atomic bomb has a genetic impact, and further research will need to be conducted using the team's data (blah blah blah).

Interesting – Now they cant say that. Like in many other countries the nuclear industry – has no insurances – they have been saying, and are still saying nuclear power is safe, and that is easy to say, because they don't have to take the consequences when it goes wrong. Now when it has caused a a catastrophe – they they are not so self-assure.
Now there are six large reactors in the world that has melted/exploded. Six out of 440 – that is one out of 75. These technocrats are really dangerous! They are so full of their own illusion – that they can't see the true reality. Not until it goes wrong.
Interesting they are still selling nuclear power to neighbour countries. What if their buyers ask the same question? What would the answer be?

Some BS like this, probably: "With a failure rate of only 1,36%, the risk is still in an acceptable range."
Report Comment
And with a failure rate of only 1.36%, they have put over 50% of the world's population in jeopardy of terminal cancers and other life-altering sicknesses. Not a very good risk/reward scenario! Any sixth-grader could see that.

This tells us how safe nuke power is. They are firing anyone who is against tax increases to cover Fuku expenses.

It will not matter HOW much they increase taxes. There may not be enough money in the World by the time it spreads.

@flap – noda just has gall … "By removing the ministers, who the opposition has criticized for not performing properly" … what a lame excuse to try to cover the corrupt manipulations.
shouldn't noda remove himself on that notion?

"believe"…
It's a kind of church, isn't it?
"The Church of Boiling Water"
founded by some heretics from
"The Church of Burning Oil"
TEPCO itself is in a state of "believe"!
What about science?
Do you "believe" in science?
