Tacomagroove predicted this would happen.
Dear Administrator:
Delete all comments that argue against the wisdom of tacomagroove, our resident scientist, please.
“The worst is yet to come,” says taco. Furthermore, taco says, the worst won’t happen at all, if we luck out.
Maybe something will happen or maybe it won’t? Don’t you see that whatever happens or doesn’t happen, tacomagroove was right? Right. Right.
As I read taco’s words of science, I envision a mushroom cloud and people burning forever in hell. (All of the critics are going to burn, as taco has stated in writing)
Forget about the comments of that phony university professor, the one who said that taco “is a delusional fake whose numbers are totally false.”
Delete the critics of tacomagroove, if only to save those critics from damnation.

What do you have against taco. I am a University researcher and have been for over 32 years. Most every one on this blog is guessing. How could they not since the data we are receiving is scarce and in most cases fake. I have yet to hear from any “university professor” on this board. I hear a lot of people making all sorts of canonical statements that cannot be verified. So far I have not found Tacomagroove to be absurd or off base. If you have something you want to say please back it up. Ad hominem attacks on people are really a sign that you cannot come up with an actual argument.
Report Comment
I’m no way near a university researcher, but tacoma has worked tirelessly to bring us all information. You are right, we are all guessing as we’ve never been in the helpless position of 5 reactors melting down along with a shitload of spent filthy fuel. I have been a semi-survivalist for decades, and there is always a way to prepare for any given emergency. I see no viable solutions to this emergency, nor any really practical way to prepare. I find all the methods of cleansing the body of radiation, finding potable water and decontamination rooms in the average persons house very clumsy, complicated, confusing and probably a waste of energy over a lengthy period of time. I see no successful plugging of leaks, no unspewing the perpetual spew and as a result, I don’t think ELE is vastly overstating the sinking planet we find ourselves on. Tacomagroove speaks her version of the truth as she sees it, and I think her assessment hits the mark more often than not. My thanks and appreciation to you Taco. XXOO

@fjn – I cannot come up with an argument?
I have nothing personally against Taco. Surely your 32 years as a University researcher would mean you’d understood that I was replying to a sarcastic comment, with more sarcasm? Lighten up.
However, I do feel obligated to follow up with someone who feels compelled to call me out in a public forum ( http://enenews.com/ozawa-be-able-live-japan-radiation-going-be-flowing-long-period-time/comment-page-1#comment-74105 ), after I take the time to respond ( http://enenews.com/ozawa-be-able-live-japan-radiation-going-be-flowing-long-period-time/comment-page-1#comment-74213 ), then don’t get an answer. I’m still waiting for a reply, haven’t got one, so I’ll remind someone when the ball has been returned to their court. A bit of a jab, as it were.
Now, perhaps you could understand this would have been subtle if not for your prying intervention. Do I really have to waste my time explaining this to you? What may I ask is your investment or attachment to this? Frankly, you should probably mind your own business, especially if you feel that someone else who you hold so high on a pedestal, is so smart that they SHOULD be able to defend themselves. Hey, you asked. I never had anything against you, but there you go. Consequence.
I also have something against anyone who comes here promoting alarmist propaganda and agendas, pasting the same random data acquired from other web sites, over and over in different threads, all in an obvious cry for attention. For those that can see through the BS, there is a difference between reading someone’s intelligent comments, and recognizing that their words are backed by a depth of knowledge (ie. Mothra), compared to self-proclaimed, self-absorbed, pseudo scientists who only succeed at stumbling through language and concepts they truly know nothing about. One tip off, is overuse/misuse of the word “infer”. Sorry, that one really bugs me. That said, note that I never attacked…
Report Comment
…cont’d
That said, note that I never attacked anyone, including Taco for any of that BS, because I respect and understand that people have their own opinions. Again, you asked.
For that matter, I am also less than impressed by anyone who feels the need to qualify themselves with statements such as “I am a University researcher”, rather than getting to the point and expressing yourself effectively. I don’t feel the need to brag about my qualifications, in order to make a point. But hey, you asked.
Finally, “Ad hominem attacks on people”? Really? What do you think you just did?
It’s not my intention to shit disturb here. But when someone calls me out on something, I need to reply. I’m not sorry about that. Peace.

@ fjn
What subject do you research?Advertising, perhaps? You failed to mention the obvious, you see.
Taco writes “ad hominem comments” by telling people they’re going to hell for disagreeing with him.
By your own words, taco is guessing … nobody has enough facts to do otherwise.
Taco calls his guesses “theories,” because he doesn’t understand the scientific meaning of “hypothesis.”
Or did you miss that obvious fact? Or are you tacomagroove?
If I told YOU to burn in hell, would you defend me too?
If I predicted the end of the world, would you defend me like tacomagroove, who has predicted the end of the earth, the birth of a star, the total loss of our atmosphere, and 50% extinction of life … all by this November?
As you say, it’s anybody’s guess.
If taco admits he is guessing like hell, then I’ll buy a wedding dress from him.

I suspect Taco works for Tavistock like some other bloggers on this site. However, there are grains of truth mixed in with what might be propaganda or an attempt to control the discussion.
The only thing that bothers me is that if people believe that they are dying, they will die. Mind games do influence reality. And what we think about reality does itself become reality or is a part of reality. (That might have been a reference to something Wallace Stevens said.)
Also I would disagree if someone would be incited to violence by any remarks by any bloggers on this site.
I would suspect that real scientists would be doing something more productive than blogging on this site.

Cooling system stops at No.5 reactor in Fukushima
English.news.cn 2011-05-29 10:14:04 FeedbackPrintRSS
TOKYO, May 29 (Xinhua) — Cooling system at a reactor of the crippled Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant stopped from Saturday, the plant’s operator said Sunday.
Tokyo Electric Power Co. said the pumps to cool the nuclear reactor and fuel pool have stopped at the No. 5 unit, and the operator is now working to switch to backup pumps to restore the cooling system.
When a worker at the plant became aware of the problem at 9 p.m. Saturday, the temperature of the reactor stood at 68 degrees Celsius and that of the fuel pool at 41 degrees Celsius.
They had risen to 87 degrees Celsius and 44 degrees Celsius, respectively, by the time TEPCO began work to restore operations shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday, it said.

So… I’m wondering when the Daini disclosures will roll? Daiichi 5 and 6 appear slated for June news, I’m guessing?

Layman’s terms – when the damn rods get dry they overheat and temperature rises to obscenely hot temps. I think Taco cautioned at 100 C – and From Tokyo just posted it rose to almost 94 C just 50 minutes before they fixed the problematic equipment and restored cooling. When the temps are soaring the uranium fuel reaches criticality in other words a life of their own from hell where they can give off charges, beams, go through your body, kill or maim you before you realize you’ve been fatally wounded – internally etc. IOW completely out of control as several of the reactors currently are in a super scary almost-criticality place – in between meltdowns.
If I am interpreting everybody’s input on topic, we (you too) have just witnessed skirting another potentially disastrous way to end today at Fukushima. Fingers crossed we will wake tomorrow with the fixed cooling system working still so we can get through Sunday in one piece.
Sorry for the drama. Perhaps someone else can correct where I missed the boat.
Take care.
Report Comment
Overheating of the fuel assemblies does not result in criticality. If left exposed to air, the zirconium cladding will react with the oxygen and produce hydrogen gas, which may cause an explosion. If the assemblies are left without cooing, they may melt and slump, forming more corium.
At this point, it is possible that what is termed “prompt criticality” may occur. This indeed may produce neutron beams, which is what you are describing when you say “…give off charges, beams, go through your body, kill or maim you before you realize you’ve been fatally wounded – internally etc.”.
This “prompt criticality” can be a consequence of letting the spent fuel assemblies go without cooling and eventually melting, but does not occur at the point where the water in the cooling pond starts to boil at 100C/212F.

1st: Go and read Bob Nichols most recent article at
http://www.veteranstoday.com/2011/05/28/fukushima-how-many-chernobyls-is-it/
2nd: Go and read the last 10 weeks of posts here
3rd:Go listen to Arnie Gunderson videos at fairewinds.com
After doing so, you will be better situated to be able to answer your present question(s) for yourself and with a lot of confidence in your assessment of the situation.
3rd: Go see if you can find “On The Beach” with Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner (circa 1959). And absolute classic, yet no longer sci-fi. Amazon says they have it in DVD format.
Then you will have a very good idea of “what this means”, I think. I know this has to be very overwhelming to most people who are trying to pay attention.
For me, I was severely reprimanded by a woman friend of mine a few weeks ago about the idea of any radiation/fallout getting here to the US. She was emphatic that there was no way and that I am just spending my time trying to find the worst case stories, which she assured we were “garbage”. I am not to ever bring up the topic with her ever again, she says. “Can’t happen here. That is all happening over there. No way for it to get here.”

Yeah, everyone processes grief differently. The denial stage or cognitive dissonance is a necessary psychological defense mechanism. It’s a way the mind protects itself from potentially damaging thoughts or trauma. If you push past those defenses – you’ll encounter anger. You needn’t take it personally – porcupines can’t control their quill response either.

FROM WIKIPEDIA
Denial is a defense mechanism postulated by Sigmund Freud, in which a person is faced with a fact that is too uncomfortable to accept and rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence.
The subject may use:
1. simple denial – deny the reality of the unpleasant fact altogether
2. minimization – admit the fact but deny its seriousness (a combination of denial and rationalization)
3. projection – admit both the fact and seriousness but deny responsibility

Heres another news story about it:
TOKYO | Sun May 29, 2011 12:42am EDT
(Reuters) – Tokyo Electric Power has restored the cooling system of the nuclear reactor and fuel pool at the No. 5 unit of the crippled Fukushima Daiichi power plant in northeastern Japan, an official of the plant operator said on Sunday.
Tokyo Electric, know as TEPCO, said the cooling facility restarted at 12:49 p.m. (0349 GMT) and was expected to lower temperatures which had risen at the reactor and fuel pool after the cooling system stopped working late on Saturday.
The temperature at the nuclear reactor at the No.5 unit was up to 87 degrees Celsius (188 degrees Fahrenheit) at 8:00 a.m. (2300 GMT) from about 68 degrees before the cooling system stopped operating, the official said.
The Fukushima Daiichi plant’s No. 1 to 4 reactors were severely damaged after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, while damages at the No. 5 and No. 6 reactors were less severe.

What happens is going to be felt worst in the unborn across the northern hemisphere, and especially in Japan. An increase in genetic mutations will occur in the unborn, which can manifest in hundreds of different ways health-wise. I have 2 different genetic mutations and I was born directly after Chernobyl. One is a bone mutation, and the other one is my heart is deformed. I can’t say 100 % that there is a connection between Chernobyl and my birth defects, but I have found radiation data for where I was born in Canada, and it seems like a likely candidate for causing such things.

According to the web, after two months of cold shut down the fuel in a reactor should only release 10% of the heat it did when first shut down. (correct me if I am wrong on the details of 10%, but that’s about right)
Presumably then it should take ten times as long for a melt down to occur at this point, two months into the disaster. (Assuming we are being told the full story now, and presuming it did not melt down a long time ago without the public being told.) In other words, instead of three to ten hours for a melt down after loosing coolant flow, it should take between thirty and one hundred hours to melt down now. The rods give off much less heat after two months of shut down.
We are probably hearing more news now simply because Tepco’s PR experts think this problem is solvable and can be spun to make them look competent. No news is released by accident now. All of it is designed to manipulate opinion.

Agreed – mega damage control campaign. Believe what you want at your own peril. TEPCO and the Japanese govt have YET to acknowledge the danger they are putting all of us into.
