Meltdowns happen, and plant operators can't do anything once a reactor melts, as proven by Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Fukushima. Question is, who's next?

I can say with some confidence that even an earthquake of modest scale on the US east coast is gonna cause significant structural damage to an aging NPPs after hearing how many corners have been cut with NRC blessings …

TEPCO decision makers, govt officials, even HHS in US and whoever is in charge there needs criminal charges and civil suits brought against them for crimes against humanity and child assault…

Seriously, TPTB: wake the F up while you still have your money and your freedom…

I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love, a guy named Paul once said

I think the whole event was way too big for tepco to deal with. I think their safety checks and procedures were inadquate and there may have been malfunctioning equipment which was unable to cope. There's rumours the stuxnet virus compromised their back up systems . But tepco are definitely to blame for trying to cover it up and ducking their responsibilities

The place got busted up by a massive earthquake! pipes were broken up everywhere. It wouldn't have made any difference if the pumps or computers kept working. The plant was geriatric and it fell to bits and then, unavoidably, exploded!

Word. The earthquake was the primary natural event, that initiated the Earth's most damaging nuclear event ever.

The worst damage was already done, but the daily accumulation threatens that.

We don't get to go back to the way it was…

      • We Not They Finally

You see, that's an INTERNATIONAL criminal problem as well. "Geriatric" plants, with "We'll worry about the deadly waste later." It would just be good if we started with the baseline of "no ACCIDENT." This is, always has been criminally negligent behavior.

    • We Not They Finally

How about adding in that "we're just giving you electric power" was a flat-out lie? How about coming clean on the WEAPONIZING?

  • We Not They Finally

What does "sorry" mean? Saving THEIR face? They've already condemned millions, alive now and from future generations, to suffering and death. "Sorry" is sort of worth its weight in cr__. Jail them and throw away the key.

Memo to GE: "Please send the OFF switch to your GE Mark One BWR for Fukushima Daiichi NPP … … … WHAT???? No "OFF" Switch … … WHAT were you thinking??? ??? ???

    Isn't nuclear power wonderful??? ????

Send something anyway … your one time bestest, most loyalist customer … Tepco …

We lost our country … 'cause no off switch … think US Government bears any responsibility here ??? ???

Naw …. Radiation is Good For You … and for your retard, 'short bus' descendants ….

Welcome to the Wonderful World of GE Nuclear …. We mutate your offspring … free of charge …. then you don't care "How Bad You (We) Fuck Up!!!!"" Huh? Jeff Immelt? Ain't that right Jeff Immelt … you lying scum, mass murderer …. white trash Mass Murderer …

Not even a Mulatto Mass Murderer …

    peace …

Forget the off switch! When they designed their fine machines, they made a calculation how much money they would loose if they switched them off for one day. So, they said to themselves: "Yes, let's build them without off switch, and we can even spare the 10 dollars for the switch. Let's do it!"

According to Yoichi Shimatsu, CHENEY played a role in bringing the deadly MOX fuel over there. That man gets prosecuted WHEN? Or do the demons have to take care of it after death? (Remember that scene of demons chasing the criminal down the street post-death in "Ghost"?)

Apparently 4,000 engineers advised that a certain type of filter was needed to better protect the GE Mark I reactors in THE STATES. And the Repubs are pressuring the (all of) five NRC commissioners to NOT authorize that paltry spending because it is too much to do! I don't understand why anyone thinks we are safer here long-range than in Japan.

I posted an article from a nuke-puke site advising NPP operator/owners to "take advantage of the delays they caused by tying up the legislation requiring the filters by the date originally ordered to take effect-but that's the kind of shitbirds they are!! 😐 ~**
