Yeah look at that stuff. Take a good long look at the second video of pool 3. Do you notice anything missing.
The pool is there, the cases for the fuel rods are there… Hmmm whats missing ?????
There are no fuel rods in the pool or in the fuel rod holders. I guess that's what blew up…

What? No pics of a perfect #3 reactor, in good shape and condition?
So tell us this; how does one get such a huge explosion, and still have an intact fuel pool, with intact fuel rods?
Show us the video of the crane coming over the #3 spent fuel pool and then lowering down into it, and you may get a few more votes; otherwise, sorry, no tikie.
Our staff still votes that this is a pic of some other fuel pool, or a common fuel pool, or a pool at another plant somewhere else entirely. The lie keeps getting bigger and bigger…
Remember that this company said there was only a teensy weensy hydrogen explosion here, 10% of Chernobyl radiation total, and no nuclear materials released AT ALL. Certainly no melt through, no dried out fuel pool, no criticality explosion. Certainly no corium blobs going into ground, NOPE.

Doesn't look like he takes energy money:

Maybe he does care about his state, and the people in it. Not a word from AK, WA, HI or CA elected officials.
Enenews might want to start keeping track of which politicians are willing to speak some truth about this, and those that want to cover it up, so we know who to vote for. If it matters anymore.

I find it interesting the CA governor declared a state of emergency here just before the first wave of radiation was due to hit on 3/18/11. (It actually probably got here on 3/14 or 3/15.) Why didn't the people living here (like me????) know anything about that?
And Pres. Obama said, "Nothing to be concerned about" in so many words. No need to take precautions.
Once this completely blows open, I'll find it interesting to see what kind of backpedaling and finger pointing the politicians do ….

Lots of empty slots in that video.
This footage convinces me that the explosion at #3 was the reactor. Most of the damage visible is impact of falling debris (including heavy machinery), not explosion or melting. Things beneath the debris would be far more chaotic if it had been the SFP going off.
And it makes sense. MOX had just been introduced a couple of fuel cycles ago, and very little MOX was in the SFP. Almost all of it was in the reactor, and it was operationally hot when the quake hit.
That leaves the question, was the hydrogen blast that triggered the nuclear detonation inside the reactor or outside containment? (Or both?)

I think that is the basement that got flooded out. Are we to believe there is a sfp that holds water in unit 3 wreckage? Give me a break. The building blew to smitheenes. Everything (almost) blew thousands of feet into the air and rained down into the ocean and surrounding shorefront property. I can accept that the fuel that melted down under the rcv may have been your explosive event, but it has been over a year and I forget the details. Was it a chocolate factory or a npp? Oh yeah, a npp. Was there 30 times more fuel in the sfp than in the rpv? Are we to believe the fuel was cooking in the rpv for how long before it detonated?

Remember who we are dealing with here… This one is the worst of the worst of all of the reactors and spent fuel pools, and it now all of a sudden looks like it is among the best? Nice clean, cool, blue water, little fishies swimming around, just a little junk fell over from the sides into the pool. We will get that fixed in a jiffeee. Ooppssiee.

I believe it is the #3 SFP because of the loading crane, the rebar, and the steel beams. It looks very much like what glimpses I've seen from above.
If it was basement, it wouldn't be lit the way it is. Part of the ambient, that which lights the murky background, is indirect sunlight. You can tell by the filtered spectrum. And the racks are mostly intact, which they would be if the reactor was what detonated. There is only minimal visual access to the pool because of debris above limiting access to the pool's surface. I could go on and on, and they all add up.
You may choose not to believe, but I don't feel that TEPCO is clever enough to fabricate the many coherent clues that I've seen. I'm sold that it is #3 SFP.

Imho, I think that there are no sfp's in 1,3, and 4. There is a sfp in 2, because that containment was fairly intacts before they built the tent. Any water pool in 1,3, and 4 must therefore be from the flooded basements. That piece of equipment may have been tossed 2 thousand feet in the air and came crashing back down to where it lay now. Imagine the force of impact.
Report Comment
I thought it was established from the NRC transcripts that the #3 SFP was filled with spent MOX rods.

In the shots that show the fuel racks, it looks like you can see handles for the fuel bundles in one of the rows. The other rows look empty–I don't know whether they were empty in the first place (I don't think the #3 pool was as full as the #4 pool). Maybe the presence of fuel bundle handles where they're supposed to be means that the explosion didn't blow the spent fuel out of the pool (or maybe it just means that it didn't blow ALL of it out of the pool). Are they constructed in such a way that the rods in some racks could be blow out, but the racks left intact and the bundles in the neighboring rack left intact? If not, then maybe the presence of the bundle handles means not as much spent fuel exploded out of # 3 as feared. Maybe it is an indication that the explosion really did occur in the reactor itself (as the NRC and Ian Goddard think), not the SFP (as Gundersen hypothesizes). I look forward to hearing AG's analysis of this video.

I am no pro or nuclear engineer or anything, but I have yet to see one video of a SFP that actually shows spent fuel.
There was one of sfp 4 a long time ago that seemed to show a number of fuel bundles. And one earlier of 3 that showed one possibly two handles at the top of the rack.
This string of videos shows nothing. I saw no spent fuel. There was one video that may have captured racks but they looked empty and I think I might have caught a glimpse of some handles.
There was hundreds of rods in this pool, pre explosion. Personally it matters little to me where the explosion occurred (only in the sense that if we knew that the EQ led to enough damage for cores to blow) nor does it matter what the pool looks like or if it is full of crap from the explosion. What matters to me is where the fuel is. These videos are useless, probably why they released them. It allows TEPCO and cohorts to yammer on about the status of the pools and cold shutdown and what not instead of facing the reality of explaining where the fuel is.

I am just puzzled. Looking at this:
http://susanin.udm.ru/upload/iblock/48f/48fdf184680ebb596a7c135d329ff68a.jpg
I think the damage had come much lower at R3, than at R4. For comparison:

And A. Gundersen explanations based on other pictures:

Having in mind who is holding the cameras, I just compare, without conclusions.

u guys seen the steam bubbles in the last video – coming out of the big concrete block w. the square tubes? So much about *spent* fuel – needless to say some of that stuff is still *cooking* despite of water .. now imagine another eq causing SPF 3 or 4 to drain ..
Report Comment
pure water your comparision is not qualified because it shows, the demolition-works that has been done on unit 4. that's not caused by the explosion(s).
Unit 3, i guess lost 35% to 40% of it's construction. LVL 3 almost gone, LVL 4 gone, that's the location of the SFP.
If you compare the building height from Unit3&4, unit 3 is cutted at half. It's not possible that the SFP is intact. Even the containment vessel is gone in R3. The lid of R3 crashed into the building east to the reactor buildings and left a big hole in the rooftop.
So, i think that the video is not the real deal. I think it is SFP 1. Crane lays inside the pool because the ceiling crashed down. another hint – the crane. at units 3 explosion, the crane got ejected and landed elsewhere.
(sorry if it's grammatically incorrect. English is not my former language:)
