For the majority of ‘westerners’, brought up on a diet of wizz-bang science, reality TV and junk food, it just isn’t in them to doubt for a moment that the guys in white coats got it wrong, are getting it wrong, will continue to get it wrong.

Whatever the consequences, at least most people here saw it coming, or at least suspected it might come. In the meantime the ‘powers that be’ should have no trouble (with careful manipulation of the MSM) reassuring the masses and preparing them for the next generation of ‘safe’ nuclear power plants… bigger, better, cheaper; coming to a fault line near you.

        Cassie,

Let’s start with the premise that we’re all going to die of something, we just don’t know when. If you knew when you were going to die, what would you do between now and then? Good, now go have some fun and do all the things that you’ve wanted to do. If it turns out that this event isn’t the end of the world, all you’ve done is lived the life you wanted to live.

I don’t know how much fun I can have knowing that I have done nothing to stop the end of civilization and perhaps humanity. We all had a hand in it. We have all lived on this planet when reactor after reactor was being bought and installed and did nothing to stop it. We smiled at the poor aging hippies, the backward souls who thought they could hold back progress holding up their NO NUKES signs. We drove on past into the future that others saw and we prefered to ignore as we appreciated the finer things in life that living in a rich country could offer us. Now the rich live in slums in South America, rich cause they have the potential for food and water that will sustain them and not kill them…I’m not having much fun with these thoughts running through my head.

            Cuica,

Realize that we cannot control this or any situation. We cannot control other people. The best we as individuals can hope to achieve is to be able to control ourselves. This may seem like an odd statement but think about it in light of all the people in prison, drug addicts, alcoholics, pedophiles and on and on. None of these people could control themselves. Now let’s bring it down to an everyday example, road rage. Just another example of a person unable to control themselves and there are many every day examples. All of these examples have one thing in common: their actions were preceded by thought. If we can control our thoughts, we can control our actions. Some quotes from Descartes have had a profound effect on my life and how I view things, including this one:

“so something which I thought I was seeing with my eyes is in fact grasped solely by the faculty of judgment which is in my mind.”

I have worked to quiet those thoughts in my mind, recognize that there is a lot of injustice and wrong in the world and do my best to control myself, no one else. Living on an island, I was concerned about the contamination in the ocean to the point where I didn’t want to go to the beach. Monday afternoon, we took our granddaughter, had a picnic dinner and the times of our lives. Why should I live in fear of dying, it’s going to happen anyway. If the world were to end on Monday afternoon, that’s how I would have wanted to go out.

True dat. It is fitting to have different perspectives that call to move on to enjoy everyday (within reason) like it was your last.
Most of us control ourselves in most situations. Those of us who like to have control of our destiny, which we kill ourselves, trying to do, like learn to make money to buy shit and pay more bills, whatever.
Just having these loss of controls (external) make us very uncomfortable.
I am tired of being treated like a mushroom; fed shit and kept in the dark. I’ve come too far with a great life to toss in the hat. At least, yet.
But, I will not go out tolerating troll bullshit or being pollyanna, either.
Do you want to justify and con yourself while stare into the eyes of your grandson, daydreaming, that his future is gong to be worth a pile of shit? then, whatever it takes to deal with it.
I would like to take this head on as anyone should want to do.

They’re saying there’s not much they can do. The site is uncontained, unstable and too hot for human intervention beyond message control for public order and financial stability. But this is what I notice everyone saying:

Entomb the radiation on all sides with cement deep under the Pacific Ocean sea floor. Underwater robots like those used in the Gulf could manipulate the fuel rods.

Meanwhile, extremely large HEPA filter tents can cover the reactors.

          Report Comment

          • If you cover the reactors, the accumulation of radiation will make the site too contaminated for human intervention… (Thats even with venting. its just a bad idea. )

Also you cant touch the fuel once its out of the water cooling…
it would break into pieces letting molten nuclear fuel escape, melting anything that touched it… but even if that didn’t happen… You are still proposing to use some unknown nonexistent robotic machinery? to be operated in a low light environment, mind you robotically, in a circus tent, rushing to move a bunch of material (they theoretically can not touch). while somehow shipping it, >? to the ocean ??? while you cant even get into the reactors or their cores. And every known robot to mankind is incapable of doing that work…

            Another great attempt. Next…

I am anti-ELE guy, so here goes:

            1. Stop all the nuclear reactors worldwide today.
            2. Hunt the banksta/corp/gov mafia and keep them for future use.
            3. Dump all the Fuku shit into the ocean.

            5. Cover oceans and seas with it.
            6. Remake the weapons factories to produce water (it is possible without nuclear I believe).
            7. Create artificial clouds, the technology has been tested already.

          Report Comment

          • You cant remove it from the cooling. It would go critical. Especially once removed from the present of boron and brought into an oxygen environment.
It would kill anything near it. melting anything it touched. (this is the power of the sun we are talking here)…

Let alone this again is talking after months and months of construction… Just to set up a plan and get the appropriate tools there necessary would likely take up to a year. It took ten years to build these reactors.

The boron, will fail. the fission will reoccur. That is known. There is no way that the continued use of sea water will cool the reactors. Once the use of boron becomes ineffective, all attempts of containment will be hopeless.

Grim as this is, it will still ‘only’ be a localised event, not global. Cancers are another matter, but as the FDA has recently admitted, there is remediation/cure available in an extract of a certain ‘fine herb’ that Dupont rendered illegal sometime back for their own satanic purposes.

  • Alot of people ask. What should I do… I thought I’d write a piece on that…

    Stay informed.
    Educate yourself.

    Watch the movie “The Road”.
In all reality this is an event that will unfold.

THIS IS NOT A MATTER OF IF.
THIS IS A MATTER OF WHEN!

In the mean time, find comfort in being prepared as best you can. (be prepared mentally as well). You are already ahead of the curve for paying attention and asking questions…
Keep calm and remain focused so that, in the event “You do” find yourself living in a post apocalyptic nuclear situation. You have tools and training for survival.

Learn about the common known types of nuclear radiation such as beta gamma and alpha. Learn how they effect you internally and externally.

Learn how to protect and shield yourself from it. Mass will stop any radiation. Though the amount of mass in “quantity” must be able to provide enough protection to support a contamination free environment.

The denser the mass the better. Think lead, Metal, concrete ect. 6ft should be sufficient to stop gamma radiation.

Download a copy of the following to a laptop charge the battery and keep it in your emergency kit at all times:
    google earth.
    a survival guide.
    A fallout guide.
A text document from wikipedia Labeling:
    Types of radiation; radiation exposure charts;
And a radiation converting chart; This way in an emergency you have written material’s and guides, on hand. to help you survive.

Also it would be helpful to even create a radiation jump suit. so that you can move around freely if you find your self in a dangerous situation.

Nuclear fallout guide’s are a great place to start btw… I suggest You start your adventure by reading this article… It’s a few pages of everything you really need to know…( print a backup of this one…)
Call this the new bible: http://www.ki4u.com/guide.htm

The situation; May I remind you; could get very ugly. I assume without a doubt it will. There is no shame in being aware…

stay alert, and don’t waste time. If you want to be prepared. Do so intelligently. Many of my friends have told me I shouldn’t worry about this situation. They are certainly misinformed.

I will admit no shame in treating it with the respect it deserves. It truly is thus far the biggest tragedy to ever occur on the planet, in humanities wake.

    I will also remind you:
TEPCO. <—- Does not have a plan.

If your toilet was over flowing for hours, and you did not fix it. the situation still gets worse. It rots the floor, then it molds; rots your support beams ect.

and if you dropped a duece, and everyone would literally faint if they went in to fix it???

    well thats the point, there…

If you don't fix it, I just demonstrated how the situation will continue to slowly and slowly get worse…

    so here is my point.

    Fukushima is the toilet.
People are not fainting from the smell. they are dieing. The floor and so on are the walls in which the nuclear fuel will slowly conquer and overcome. Until you lose your house.

Tepco has demonstrated that there is no sufficient way to end that said "chain reaction"…

Thus your toilet just totaled your house.

So its really up to you, on how you "feel" you should be "reacting" right now… before your sitting at home reading and are forced to deal with the !$h!t!.

p.s.once again if you have a fail proof plan on adverting the crisis. post below;(please forward that plan to tepco too);).

Otherwise. to the best of my knowledge. this "ELE" is a 100% realistic scenario, and is in no way a form of fear mongering. <—thats not even a term.
You just shouldn't keep reading about the big bad radiation if you cant process and accept the situation in its fullest integrity.

You want a realistic scenario, Get together a global military effort; build a command center, and send troops or robots, remote controlled mining vehicles, which we have the technology for to dig under the reactors and devise a system of blasting water, or high pressure air to scatter molten fuel. That is the hard engineering part, but it has to be done. I thought maybe some kind of metal could be mixed somehow to the fuel to dilute the concentration on the fuel. Id say learn from Chernobyl and dig under the reactors. Maybe use wrecking machines to start tearing down the walls of the buildings, and burying the concrete and steel, and use giant machines to effectively get to the molten lava. This is 2011, and I heard there was an American team there right now. Imagine if the war effert were focused on Fukushima, Imagine if the world was watching this event and we all could work together like we did with cfc’s and the ozone hole. Imagine if we could make the most of this situation and start closing Nuclear Power plants, and come out with hydrogen feul cell motors. I think that an event like this is the only way for the world to change the opinion of these energys. We should be protesting in front of the EPA, and this should be talked about on every news station. I cant believe that there is only one active website posting this material and a few worried people. We are all in this together, except for Ronald Regan who sold the MOX fuel to Japan to bad he never had to witness his mistake, Thats what happens with cowboys in the government.

    A) First death Friday – yeah, some 60ish worker in extreme heat wearing a portable greenhouse. Heat exhaustion. Writer says “meaning the situation is already well beyond cataclysmis”. Yeah, old guy has heatstroke=proof that in 38 days this thing will go critical. Sure. I wish the mother-fucker who wrote this would just shut up and pop a fat cap in his dome so he won’t be around to feel the disappointment when we don’t all die screaming in 38 DAYS!

    B) Fuel through the floor and into groundwater in “no less than 1-6 hours” – looking at TepCo info, there’s about 40-60′ of dirt/sand/rock between the two. All of which will significantly dilute the molten blob. And in 1-6 hours? Where the hell did that come from?

    c) 600,000 spent fuel rods? NFW. This number is wrong. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/03/17/957402/-11,195-spent-fuel-rods-stored-at-Fukushima
    MY RESPONSE to your articles…
    First off.
    A. – B.
    I stated only that tepco cant use boron after the now 37 days. SO they will likely be forced to abandon the site… once the cooling is idle with neutrons creating high excess thermal fission;
B.(continued from A.) The fuel “then” could make it through the soil into the water table within 1-6 hours… This isn’t anything more than cause and effect…

    Secondly:
your article of 11,195 fuel rods only accounts for spent fuel pools 5 and 6. not all the rods on site. Look up 600,000 spent nucelar fuel rods on any search engine…

Cassie, don’t be doing anything silly because of what this mutt has said. First off, the death on site was a 60 year old man working in a plastic suit like a green house. He died of heat exhaustion. Secondly there are no 600,000 fuel rods on site, its closer to 11,500.

Things are indeed bad, but not cataclysmic like this guy would have you believe. While there is a huge risk of a steam explosion, the China syndrome as we commonly know it is a bit of a joke. A mass of fuel will indeed melt a hole in things. The metal and concrete and sand and stuff it has to melt through adds its mass to the original melt. It dilutes the fuel a bit more cutting down on the temperature. At some point, (hopefully before it reaches the water table) the melt will have become so diluted that it can no longer maintain a liquid state. At this point it will solidify but be very hot thermally as well as radioactively.

The evidence of this is what is known as the “elephants foot” at Chernobyl. Those guys sweated for months trying to figure out where the fuel had gone, they were actually planning to install chillers under the basement of the reactor to cool the melt. However, as mentioned, it diluted itself to the point where it could no longer remain a liquid. Not only that but the melt ran in different directions through existing pipes and dispersed itself enough to prevent any further fission.

I suggest you sit back, make yourself a decent drink and start doing some research. There are lots of groups out there looking at this mess 24/7 who have the technical skills to make intelligent comments instead of this unmitigated horseshit.

    Im no mutt lol.

But I will respond to this tactfully. as I always have lol.
First issue you had was fuel rods… HERE: 600,000 fuel rods.

    http://www.infowars.com/alert-fukushima-coverup-40-years-of-spent-nuclear-rods-blown-sky-high/

“We’d be lucky if we only had to worry about the spent fuel rods from a single holding pool. We’re not that lucky. The Fukushima Daiichi plant has seven pools for spent fuel rods. Six of these are (or were) located at the top of six reactor buildings. One “common pool” is at ground level in a separate building. Each “reactor top” pool holds 3450 fuel rod assemblies. The common pool holds 6291 fuel rod assemblies. [The common pool has windows on one wall which were almost certainly destroyed by the tsunami.] Each assembly holds sixty-three fuel rods. This means the Fukushima Daiichi plant may contain over 600,000 spent fuel rods.”

Thats where I got that figure.

    Second issue

cataclysmic: Def.: bringing about ruin or misfortune <a cataclysmal decision to plunge the nation into war. ect…

Next issue: this isnt chernobly. There is significant evidence that the fuel in the fukushima reactors burnt a whole large enough to let 300,000 some odd metric tons into the reactors basement. that being said. You also took my words out of context. That is on the condition that the molten fuel fissions out of control. which is likely in the event the thermal fission is no longer being effected by the boron in the cooling system.

Maybe it is very difficult, at this stage, to stop the melted cores from going critical, but if you forget about trying to save the ground water and immediately start heaping enormous amounts of clay, sand and earth on top of the site, couldn’t that, with a bit of luck, substantially reduce the amount of radioactive particles that will get into the atmosphere?

If there is an explosion when the melted core gets down to the ground water, there is at least a chance that it will be weak enough to eject relatively small amounts of radioactive matter into the air, after which the sand and clay falls back and covers the bottom of the resulting crater.

The explosion could disperse the fissionable material inside the sand and clay, perhaps stopping or limiting further fission. You could then drop more sand into the crater from the air using remotely controlled helicopters.

The radioactivity that enters the ground water will also spread to the ocean, I suppose, but the ground will act as a filter, keeping a lot of it contained.

    • Putting any substance other than water on the fuel rods… = You are only adding fuel to the fire. That is the main reason the sarcophagus technique is not being implored.

The encasement (or suffocation) would also only create a hotter thermal effect on the environment in the fuel. Leading to a more likely chance in explosion.

Also by putting soil on to the rods, the reaction would be an instant vaporization. Leading to even higher, atmospheric releases.

The situation is a damned if you do damned if you don’t type of setting…

plague the ocean, or plague the continents. Either way humanity would suffer the consequences…

    The outlook is simple.
Unless Tepco can convince several hundred thousand people to commit suicide, in order to build a containment structure under it, around it and over it, nothing can be done.
Radiation will continue to spew out into the environment.
Prevailing winds and currents will spread it across the entire planet.
Eventually everyone will die from it.
    It’s as simple as that.
    But wait there’s more ……
There will be other reactors in trouble, that we don’t even know about yet, guaranteed.
The Japanese people will finally start to get an idea later this year and early into next year, when the birth deformity rates go off the charts.
Unless they build a hermetically sealed containment structure, it’s game over.

There’s not much radiation spewing right now, the US levels have gone way down, undetectable most places.

It’s not a given that radioactive stuff will be blown up into the atmosphere. It could stay in groundwater and leak out to the ocean.

The corium in #3 is probably already contacting groundwater imo, but apparently not enough to cause explosions to break out. That could happen though if the corium continues to heat up from little criticalities. I think it’s just as likely that it will become diluted enough to remain underground or in the sea. I guess it could go either way.

But even if some does blow into the atmosphere, that’s not where most of it will go, and most of the rods, shut down reactors, etc are not likely to get caught up in some monster explosions. So you can’t put together all the radioactive stuff into the same airborne basket and say that it’s mostly going to waft over and dump on the US.

I think we’ll see plenty of fallout here, but not acute radiation poisoning. We’ll have increased cancer rates after a while. Not extinction.

We have naturally only seen a small proportion of the release to be expected (given the amount of fuel present) ;)

You are also kinda right there too. there is no way of knowing that the release will be mainly atmospheric. It could be entirely oceanic. Either way the release “will be” released. So were still screwed…

I was surprised to read the comment on the declining radiation levels… (as the epa cut off all realtime radiation monitoring). So I feel that is a baseless claim.

Either way. you say potato I say prepare. Not cause something bad will happen. But because it can. Until tepco figures it out. I’d take the bet, that has better odds.

“Geothermal power is cost effective, reliable, sustainable, and environmentally friendly,[2] but has historically been limited to areas near tectonic plate boundaries. Recent technological advances have dramatically expanded the range and size of viable resources, especially for applications such as home heating, opening a potential for widespread exploitation. Geothermal wells release greenhouse gases trapped deep within the earth, but these emissions are much lower per energy unit than those of fossil fuels. • The number three reactor suffered a nuclear explosion not a hydrogen one as conversed.

There is no vessel to pump water into, there is a big hole in the floor below and a real hot mess below that. on the live cam you could see intermittent blue flashes of light emitting from the now skeletal reactor building, this was probably cherenkov radiation, recriticality occurring. This reaction is outside now exposed to the elements and emitting lots of radiation.

There is a video of the explosion here:

    http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=874_1300081369

Compare this with the other two hydrogen explosions, a mushroom cloud can be clearly seen, also the smoke and flames are briefly sucked back in, like in a nuclear thermic explosion. Spent fuels rods, radioactive steam and water and tons upon tons of highly irradiated debris spread far and wide, internally in Japan and externally in the world.

Whats gets me apart from the complete media blackout / falsified fallout readings etc etc is that there is no radiation absorbing materials being dropped into the areas like with Chernobyl, after just 10 days the situation, although very serious was pretty much under control.

I just feel sad there are now many places in the world I probably cannot visit now, let alone the people inhabiting those places. Very sad indeed.
