Reactor 1 in worse shape than thought, Japan Times, May 13, 2011:

[TEPCO’s] Matsumoto also said that, considering the situation with the No. 1 reactor, the water level data from reactors 2 and 3 may not be credible. […]

According to Tepco, the water-level indicators of the [No. 1] pressure vessel had indicated the water surface was about 1.65 meters below the top of the fuel rods. But as of Thursday morning the reading was more than 5 meters below the top. The fuel rods, if undamaged, are only 4.5 meters in height.

Humpty dumpty fell off of a wall and everybody pretended for two montbhs that his head was still intact . the head glowed in the dark. it was blessed by all the high priests as a fountain of wisdom. From all over the world people came to be in its glow.

You can easily circumvent being blocked from obtaining the video feed by using one of the following methods (there are many more ways to do this, of course):

      1) Use Tor ( https://www.torproject.org/ ), hide your IP address and appear to be from any country you chose (us, uk, jp ..). Quite easy to setup with both Linux and Windows. Free of charge

      2) If you know how to use openvpn, get a free account here and be from the US (faster than Tor, most of the time): http://hostizzle.com/

thank you but i already have a VPN account from iVPN which is really fast and provides multiple countries and multi-hop but it’s not for free 🙂

but i bet some other people arround here didn’t knew about that

    Credible? A little meltdown action?

More like a lot. The battle of fukushima has just begun, and so far the peons are getting the shit kicked out of them.
this may the black swan that sets the world on fire.
This does not just involve japan, but the risk of the planet.
I wonder what the useless eating, anti tree huggers, think now.
Oh, I forget most the pollyanners don’t think, at all.

I wonder what the useless eating, anti tree huggers, think now.
Oh, I forget most the pollyanners don’t think, at all.

as this orwellian nightmare unfolds before our very collective eyes, i’m sure most of us are more than just a little shocked and dismayed, after all the outcomes of this cannot be very good. pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

  • Edano apologizes over new radioactive water leak into sea

    TOKYO —

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said Thursday that a new leak of radioactive water into the sea from the troubled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant was ‘‘very deplorable’’ and offered his apologies to neighboring countries and others who may be affected.

‘‘I apologize for again causing worries and troubles to local residents, those in the fishing industry and neighboring nations,’’ the top government spokesman told a news conference, a day after plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co announced the leak and said it was able to stop the flow.

The utility said highly contaminated radioactive water had leaked into the sea from a pit close to a seawater intake for the No. 3 reactor, after a similar case was detected last month near the No. 2 reactor of the Fukushima plant, which has been crippled by the devastating March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

Why in the world is anybody listening to TEPCO? They have proven they are incompetents, and idots that haven’t the faintest clue what is going on or what to do about it, and have lost all credibility. Apologies and denial are not acceptable solutions.

    • extra knight

yes. but that’s the key don’t you see. sitting on a radioactive island with approximately 45-50 more of those babes equals quite some fireworks, errrrr… and also means certain death to the entire planet. whoopie!

  • fireguyjeff

“the water surface was about 1.65 meters below the top of the fuel rods. ”
    What a scare!
Thank God it was not 1.70 meter below!
That would have been a YEEEEOOOOOJJJ problem.

On another note, WTF is the idea of anyone offering “apologies”???
How do you apologize out of some thing like this? This idea of apologizing takes sociopathology to a whole new level.
The whole idea of offering an apology is so far past clueless it makes this situation all the more surreal. The bitch is that this is all so very real.

  • charlie

this is mind blowing. we’re done.

right about now due to the typhoon season and change of weather patterns, the radiation levels in Tokyo should start to begin to approach those that we have been experiencing on the west coast for the last five to six weeks or so. hopefully they have evacuated at least tokyo japan for higher ground, one can only hope.

  • Great idea! I really never though it would be possible that logo can be really useful. This technique will also help in improving the style of the layout too.

  • It’s available from Germany that video.
